  • I remember hearing that back in the day when they made TOS they made it look like the Enterprise was moving thru space by placing a movie camera on rails and sending it by the ship that was stationary. Maybe you could rig up something like that on the cheap and have a cool effect for a Youtube video. Remember how that ship zipped by during the intro, you could do that. Thought: Imagine Spock with Elvis hair, makes you go hmmmm, any mullets on Vulcan? OK, Live long and pro-create.

  • @Cooleemee43 I know you wrote this a year ago, but you are correct. That's exactly the way they did it. They also filmed the model against a blue screen. This technique was later used in many space shows and movies including 2001: A Space Odyssey and Star Wars and Star Trek TNG. Of course now, they use CGI.
