i keep listening to this again and again. it's sounds good. i like this arrangement starts and ends so fast. wished you made a longer version. i would love to hear that!
I'm digging the whole fade out thing at the end. I have the same keyboard at home. Which effect are you using for the pad in the middle of the song? I just know it's like some kind of of keys with strings but I'm not sure which one it is on the keyboard when you switch.
Nice...quite a bit of straying from the arrangement, but that's not a criticism.
Funny coincidence - I just brought that model Yamaha in from the garage where it had been wrapped up for a while. The rhythms option make for some fun practicing/jamming.
can u help me plz? i do not have such a lot of ideas what i could use ( scales/chords etc) in the solo part.. u seem to use lots of "weird"scales i do not know.. can u tell me plzplzplz more or less what scales u can use in this peace? ty very much.. 5 points btw
hi its a yamaha dgx 300, its really not very good at all when you compare it to much more professional things, but I really miss that keyboard in a funny kind of way, it was easy to record ideas down and save them without all the faffing about of cubase etc, im sure you can find one on ebay, cheers
hi, try to play what you want to hear, and if you find that difficult (like me) then try to get melodic ideas you like from your favourite players and make them your own. I think people have different approachs to improv, but I think that method is great - Some of my friends have amazing pitch and can hear everything, its quite incredible - I hope to Improve my ear overtime and I think you will get good results with any ear training work you do. Cheers
thanks, ya actually you are spot on! those are pretty much the chords to that A section of "she could be mine", I love your "dig this samba" by the way, great playing, I really want to check out more of Manfredo Fests work, not so well known
thanks, ya just try new things, the chords you like, try to work them out and try them in different keys to get their different colours - then after a while they become part of your playing, have fun with it, d
Nice version... Some people prefer to play dimnished block chords on this.. but this version is easier to play, because the left play hand plays chords which do not change every beat...
not bad darius, it looks like you layered the hand hand with strings as well in the middle section, the problem with doing that is it forces you to play the chord on the first beat of every bar which isnt really keeping in line with the bossa style... nice redition tho
Dont worry i am 29, you have a lot of time to play and practice!! Check out Don and Dave Grusin's playing, these guys are really inspirational, best regards, darius
ya its a pretty cool keybaord for what it is, ive just sold mine as it was too heavy to cart about, u can pick them up on ebay for a lot less i think (dgx 300), but i have just bought a korg x50 and this really makes this yamaha look like a toy, hope to get some vids on soon
Nice sound. What keyboard is this? A Yamaha or maybe a Casio? I liked the sequence, and although the progression you moved to after the head is cool, you didn't solo over the actual changes of the tune. But fun anyway...
my jazz ensemble plays this song for restaurants in san juan capostrano, california area. i wish we could find a pianist around here who is as good as you.
Wow, that was really good. Very accurate technique, good sense of notes and harmony, well done. Top notch. I wanted to hear more of the solo, I was interested in knowing where you'd take the audience.
