i dont get what the hype is about this guy... he's a boring drummer, and sounds pretty sloppy in comparison to most others ive heard. mike johnston, portnoy, blackwell, porcaro, truls haugen, the list goes on and on.... agreed there are far too many pauses and no connecting style patterns
@JiNKA ... mike johnston ? .... come on man .... mike is a great drummer and he seems like a super great person as well . He is also a good educator but you dont put him in the same league as jeff porcaro ... my god . Regarding your opinion about paul wandtke ..i agree .. nothing special about this solo . I will check out some of his other videos before i form an overall opinion about his playing .
@JiNKA its cuz he shows multiple discipline in playing double bass. something drummers appreciate. to solo is also to hop from multiple discipline hence having pauses gives time for them to connect.

Great drummer but not a very entertaining solo. There are too many pauses and it sounds like a load of different patterns put together without anything to connect them.

so far the best drumsolo I've ever seen! I'm a drummer and I've seen ALOT of solos _ but this really stands out - AWESOME! great expression, and I've just got myself a new favorite drummer!

i dont get what the hype is about this guy... he's a boring drummer, and sounds pretty sloppy in comparison to most others ive heard. mike johnston, portnoy, blackwell, porcaro, truls haugen, the list goes on and on.... agreed there are far too many pauses and no connecting style patterns

@JiNKA ... mike johnston ? .... come on man .... mike is a great drummer and he seems like a super great person as well . He is also a good educator but you dont put him in the same league as jeff porcaro ... my god . Regarding your opinion about paul wandtke ..i agree .. nothing special about this solo . I will check out some of his other videos before i form an overall opinion about his playing .
