  • Eeek, whats the hap with his VOice - he lost it??

  • The awesomest Canadians ever!

  • @tthueson WTF are you saying??

  • @drrep25

LOL No Sh**! I can't figure it out either. :)

  • Has anyone ever heard of this drummer? He is good, he sounds EXACTLY like Neil Peart did when I saw him play this song in 1986!Amazing.All the notes are exactly the same. I know it's not Neil, because really good drummers tend to progress as players and play the parts that they wrote a long time ago differently over time, which is what makes them true artists, like Neil. But this guy, whoever he is looks and sounds just like 1985 Neil Peart. And Geddy's imposter is good too, but Alex looks fat.

  • @tthueson You think this is a cover band? There can't be 2 people on this earth as ugly as Geddy Lee! You can even hear that it's a more recent concert as Geddy can't sing like he used to. Great band, just the same.

  • @tthueson What are you retarded? This IS RUSH!!! They are older, but it's them!!!

  • @tthueson You must be kidding or that crack pipe is still hot. Come on man, if you can't tell that it's them, you are not a true Rush fan. Just saying. As for changing parts, you would be the first to say "why did he change that great solo" Why change perfection. The professor is in the building, strap up and shut up.

  • FUCK, WHEN RUSH WAS YOUTHFUL! SUCKS GETTING OLD!

  • POWERFUL GROUP OF MUSICIANS!

  • @GoofyGuitar68 GREAT SONG!

  • I don't care forthe steam punk look at all but I would live with it in my pants if I got to listen to Rush.

  • the most amazing thing about this (which nobody has mentioned) is that Neil does all this while listening to BBC Radio 4 on his "cans" while playing...

  • If you watch Neil when they close up, you drummers, he's playing alot of ghost notes, especially when he's on the ride. He didn't used to do that as much.

  • Peart's a fuckin machine....

  • The things he does on this song is phenomenal. The augmented swing beat he is playing at the end....sick!

  • Three gods

  • They can play and get their laundry dry at the same time

  • Neil Peart is garbage.

  • @heffythedon

You woman is garbage but do we all come on her and say shit about that cunt.

Now be a good little bitch and go fuck your daddy you fucking cock licker homo bitch.

  • Comment removed

  • @heffythedon And you're the landfill, moron!!!!!

  • Seen them 36 times in various cities since 2112 tour. Recently Geddy's voice is losing its range but they adopt their playing to fit. And damn they still have fun! Time Machine was bloody great! Still one of the best shows there is...

  • Was there a mass sing along for this song?

  • geddys voioce shot here??

  • i remember when " all the worlds a stage" was released. the collective "HOLY SHIT!" that came out of every drummer in the world still echos today

  • @roman14032 I'm listning to side 2 of Rush LP "All the worlds a stage" on vinyl LP which I have owned for 34 Years and felt compelled to open you tube . Rush was group that was so unique in character of music NP at that time made people realize that drums could carry a lot more "weight" than most people realized. I think the "Manhatten project" of new millenium should be to cross NP's dna with a octopus therby creating a eight armed drumming Neil Peart and then I can say I have seen it all.

  • Too bad that tight drumming is drowned out by gay 80's cheese....

...Gonna go scrape the Velveeta out of my ear canal now.

  • Im a die hard Zeppelin fan and Rush sense they started. WHO cares if it is 80's!!? It still sounds good! Expand your mind!! lol

  • This should be call "Neil Peart: On A Daily Basis"

  • Neil Pert is the best drummer of them all!!!

  • @2radio4 Best?? i don't think so, he is amazing but not the best. Nobody is the best.

  • @bassmanjoe Hey @bassmanjoe I , 2radio4 have heard some incredible drumming in my day I bet that you and I along with millions of other drum fans could spend the rest of our lives over who is good or not.So in closing I still pick neil, Listen to limelight and natural science .

  • WOOOOHOOOO!!!! I've seen them live 3 times now and it will never be enough. My first time to a RUSH concert Neil threw his stix into the crowd after Yyz, and I have them!!!! I can jam fairly well, but will never have this mans "Chops"

  • @80CJ5 I've seem them live 22 times, and have EVERY live dvd/blue ray they've ever put out, and I've NEVER seen Neil Peart throw his sticks into the crowd.

Dude...that's BS, and we know it!! He doesn't throw his sticks into the audience...never has...never will!! So PLEASE, don't try to even THINK that anyone's gonna fall for that ridiculous comment!!

    Ain't buyin, what you're tryin'...

    ...to sell!!!!!

  • @dibber43 Ive seen Rush 3 times in the 70s, and i dont recall him throwing sticks to the crowd either

  • IF. I COULD PLAY HALF AS GOOD AS NEIL I WOULD HAVE BEEN HAPPY I THINK HE IS THE. BEST OF TODAY'S DUMMERS

  • maybe as his best but you certainly cant tell when its recorded from a mile away with a shitty cell phone.

  • one of my favorite songs, then again, they don't have a bad song

  • Sorry, but they look gay, sound gay and the keyboard only enhances this impression. Though, i respect neil pert for being a great drummer, from what i've seen in his other vids, but this one really can't make me say he is the best. There are faster/more technical (and by far) drummers.

    Here : /watch?v=HoucXZOW_bQ

  • @rekleoa playing as fast as you can doesn't make you a good drummer...

  • @thornrob @rekleoa is lost...lmao

  • @thornrob you try and do it fag.

  • @achilles1669 awww don't cry, your eyeliner will run

  • @thornrob ill try not to. make sure your nboyfriend doesnt fuck you too hard.

  • @achilles1669 You need to grow up and find a life LOSER!!!

  • @thornrob

    Exactly.

  • @rekleoa he was the one who inspired these new fast and technical drummers. no one gets more technical then him. maybe some faster drummers but they cant keep beats like neil.take off ur rap music and listen to real music

  • @rekleoa Lol it doesnt matter what you look like ask those drummers whose better them or neil peart and 10 out of 10 times they will admit that they arent as good... Neil Peart is by far the best drummer of all time for the simple fact that not only is he just as fast as those guys but they learnd how to be fast from watchin him he was one of the 1st to utilize all that metal double bass stuff. you really oughta look more into real music that metal shit is all jazz scales and beats sped up some.

  • @adamcrandall25 you may have a more openminded opinion about this if you listened to a lot of other music and band types. There are a lot of very talented musicians out ther . A lot!! Rush aren't the ONLY great musicians you know..

  • @BarryKunz64 shut up fool.

  • @rekleoa You say Rush look gay and sound gay yet I look at your page and its filled with shitty black metal bands. Black metal is the very definition of cheese. Also kind of hilarious how all of your comments on all the videos you look up is nothing about what you enjoy in the vid every single comment you make has some condescending smart ass tone to it. "Oh I've seen better." type of shit. You need to go troll school.

  • Lose our race to rats, Get caught in ticking traps!

  • Comment removed

  • Neil is a machine.

  • Gee, let me guess...the 8 dislikes are from queer ass little fucks who wear dumpcatchers and listen to rap crap??? This is the best...you don't dislike RUSH!!!

  • @WendyOrocker Or because the sound quality is a bit ass.

  • awe some band

  • I saw neil play live...and that was really kick ass...the speed he has playing drums...is like 150mhp

  • @marlock2012 He plays double bass drums with his feet and also one of the VERY FEW left handed drummers this side of MOSCOW! :)) ROCK ON RUSH!

  • NEIL PEART kicks ass he truly is the BEST!!!! EVER.

  • 2 great drummers: Neil Peart and Stewart Copeland...Peart for his machinery and Coleland for his complexity

  • I wanted tickets to this performance but by the time I got round to ordering some they had sold out. FML...

  • Is there washing machines on stage?

  • YYAAA!!!!

  • Hey Meathead......One question for you....When isn't Neal Peart at his best??....Your video sucks!!!! Don't quit your day job corn hole!!!!

  • I'm not uncertain Peart isn't God\

  • @sobercoco I can help you out...Peart CREATED GOD! He is so much more than a percussionist.

  • It's one thing to flawlessly reproduce the work of a great drummer, it's another thing altogether to CREATE that kind of work. Neil is among the drumming elite, a level where arguing about "who's the best" is for interwebz retards.

  • @fivepiece your right. Its one thing to slavishly reproduce, but another to create the 'big idea' (this being true art, really) as peart has done this more times than any other modern drummer....yes buddy rich fanatics...He is, all things considered the greatest living modern drummer.

  • In reality nothing Neil plays is difficult to play it’s the insane power and herculean stamina that makes him a Drum God, a veritable T.O.E. (Thor on Earth)

FYI: yes I can play it all just as fast and loud; but I only have the stamina to make through a ¼ of the song before I need oxygen, blood transplant and a granola bar rinsed down with 50 gallons of “Wired X-505”.

  • hmm almost as good as travis barker I think... lol jk blink 4 lyf

  • Not sure what makes this Peart performance of Subdivisions much better than the rest. Not to mention solos...

  • Rush is a band that never disappoints, every time I go to see them I know I'm going to be blown away. This Time Machine Tour was a really big success in my eyes. I saw them twice during this tour, and all I can say is WOW... Alex is playing the best guitar I've ever heard from him, Geddy's voice is really perfect for their music's sound now.... And Neil... That's all I have to say... He's the god of the drums. He's the drummer everyone wishes they could be, but will never achieve that status.

  • @xFcDoveR I wish I could agree. I too saw them on the Time Machine tour, and I was a bit saddened that the boys are getting old. Geddy can't hit the notes as he used to, Neil is starting to slow down a bit (though he still is god of drumming), and Alex's fingers seem a bit slower, particularly on Freewill. They're still good, but I personally think they peaked on Test for Echo.

  • Play it no matter what. Die or play hard. You dare not remember.

  • Damn....it's nice to see Neil playing with the same agression as the old days.....he's been kinda slow on the tempos lately......

  • Very good Sir . . . spot on camera work !!!!!!!!!!!!! So nice of Neil to 'open up' the kit years back . . . now we can "see" what his hands are up too.

  • Wow!!!!!

  • Nosebleed haha

  • I've been playing drums since 1970 and Neil is the God of drums.

  • @Nanotick1 NO! Buddy Rich is

  • @terrible714 lol I've seen Buddy Rich in person in the early 70's and still have a autographed stick from him. You might be right but his stile was to jazzy for me. His stile just didn't seem to have as much feeling as Neil. So if Buddy was the God then Neil is The Son of God of drums. Or Neil is "now" the God of drums.

  • @Nanotick1 Neil Peart is definitely a legend but I think the new title of "Acclaimed Rock Drummer" belongs to Gavin Harrison.

  • @NapoleanXV You're an idiot, go listen to Gavin . . . who?

  • @jampitts That's quite the factual argument you have there. By this logic, Travis barker is better than buddy rich because people know who he is.

Gavin Harrison is the drummer to the progressive rock band "Porcupine Tree." his fills and groove work deserve complete respect and admiration. All you have presented is name calling and a biased statement.

  • @NapoleanXV Yeah, I liked my argument. Allow me to reiterate; You're an idiot, go listen to Gavin . . . who? 'Nough said.

  • @jampitts who's Neil Peart? never heard of him...

  • @thebatman101069 DRUMMER For RUSH. I think your joking? Best ever !

  • @montyhelland Am I? LOL

  • I came. Twice.

  • This Peart scores a distant 2nd once we mention Buddy Rich, the drummer of AII Drummers ! ! !

  • awesome cool video!!! i like the way the image of niel gets closer and closer..

  • You are all so blind. There is so much better than Neil Peart. Him and Terry Bozzio should get together and compare how many useless drums they have on their kits.

  • @smokingman51 Quit spamming on here Neil peart is an amazing drummer his style is unique. I know there are other drummers just as good as him. You know, just because he doesn't use everything on his kit at once dosen't mean it's useless.

  • @smokingman51 Jealous much?

  • Someone needs to barricade me back using Neil Peart's drumset before I fuck smokingman51 up

  • no need for a barricade in neil's house, he can just use his drum set

  • God damn, Neil is great. He is a perfect example of a drummer who cares about the music. You can tell through the way he plays. He doesn't have perfect technique. If you watch closely, his fingers will come off of the stick every know and then. Obviously, it doesn't negatively effect him. We all tend to get so caught up in the idea of betterment through visual perfection. Why can't we just play the way that feels most comfortable?

  • My favourite Rush song ever.

  • HE IS A GOD

  • when i was eighteen my uncle took me to a rush concert. when neil peart did a 20 min drum solo i texted every drummer i knew. Each one texted back how jealous they were. just goes to show

  • Smokingman51. You dumb ass. If he didn't use all of his set, why would he have it? Drummers are smart. We only use what we need. Nothing more. And he is a drum machine. His playing is perfect. You only say it's bad because you only wish you could play like him.

  • durp.

  • Neil Peart is bullshit. WHY? Because he doesn't use more than half of his drums. His kit is ridiculous and just plain stupid. Also, a drummer with absolutely no feel whatsoever. He sounds like a monotone drum machine with no variance in his playing. Fuck Neil Peart.

  • @smokingman51 Hey nice videos proving you know what your talking about...fucking idiot trolls these days...

  • @smokingman51 Incorrect. I'd suggest selling the drum set you have, as you obvious haven't a clue of it's purpose in music, and will not do it well.

  • @smokingman51 lol retard. Every song is different you know... I guarantee every single piece gets hit through the course of a show. Your other comment is so dumb I can't even address it. You know someone doesn't play an instrument when they talk about someone having "feel".

  • What song is this?

  • @heat4yoass Subdivisions

  • @MisterSuperstar00

    thanks!

  • The camera work is making me motion sick

  • Thanks for all the Neil.

  • If Neil Peart is so good, why are his drums set up 15 feet back from the front of the stage while the two guitars are right up front?

  • @nowheretosit Simple...it would look silly if he was in front of the lead singer.

  • @nowheretosit Maybe he's moved back so he doesn't drown out the rest of the band, believe me, I've seen him in concert, he is loud and flawless, they to have set apart a solo in the show, because he is so talented. I have seen concerts that I have totally forgotten, it's been over 30 years since I was a teenager and I still have not forgeten that drum solo with the strobe lights going, it seemed like his drum solo was over twenty minutes and not one minute was boring.

  • @nowheretosit they don't want neil to be the focul point and they want people to look at geddy and alex from time to time?

  • @nowheretosit are you for real? incarcerated perhaps? bit young for youtube?

  • thanks bro we love neil and yourself

  • We have yet to see the best of Neil Peart...

  • @POLARBEARNOPENGUIN I was just going to say that.

  • Neil Peart at his worst would still be better than anyone else!

  • Went and saw Rush at the ancient Ford Center in OKC, I fell asleep during a drum solo..

  • what song is this? btw awesome vid.

  • @brianrawks123 Subdivisions. Signals 1982.

  • i really hate the dopey old-time radio stage set. nice playing though. hey, isn't that the guy from trailer park boys?

  • While I'm a huge fan of Krupa and Rich, they didn't play Subdivisions, which is one of my favorite songs of all time.

  • what song?

  • @ownagepwnagemaster Subdivisions

  • It's like watching the geriatric clinic.

  • sorry dude, Neil was at his best in the 80's.....

  • I think what amazes me most is that he makes it look so effortless..

  • Peart is a God on the drums. Its not just playing this madness that makes him so great, no one else in this world could write drum parts half this good. Many drummers write parts that fit songs well, but won't kill them on tour.... Not this guy, each song is designed to kill, I 'm not exactly sure how he does it but whatever! P.S On a side note, anyone looking for a weight loss plan, try drumming to a rush album. Keep it up Peart!

  • I love it when I naturally come across a live Rush video

  • GEDDY LEE NEEDS TO WORK A LITTLE HARDER Ô¿Ô

  • @ACEOO8 You need to work a little harder.

  • @ACEOO8 i lol'd. good work bro

  • Best band ever

  • Everybody in Rush does the job of 3 people... If you don't believe that, then just go away.... Period.

  • Rush is so good. They attract people who cant even see them. Now thats talent.

  • Neil is to drummers what Jimi is to guitarists. Without him, there would be no Metallica, no Tool, and no bands innumerable who came after those. An irrepressible spirit, Neil - I salute you.

  • @cheagan Wrong, without Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich, there is no Neil Peart.

  • @djgolfcan Wrong. Without Mr. and Mrs. Krupa, there is no Gene; without Mr. and Mrs. Rich, there is no Buddy. Thanks for wasting my time.

  • @cheagan You are an idiot and your ridiculous thought process results in a mediocre come back at best.

  • @Amityrockstarx Thanks, a-hole. I just wonder, in reference to my original post: how much Krupa and Rich did the guys in those other bands I mentioned listen to? Or, as was my point, DO YOU THINK THEY WERE PEART FANS? But enough said; you've made your point... you know WAY more about drummers than I. Now go and worship them, you piddling little groupie.

  • @djgolfcan YES! AGREE 100%

  • Peart is insanly good

  • Haha guy is blind and goes to concerts. Balls.

  • Excellent sound!

  • great Job with the Camera well done Thanks :-)

  • If you know ANYTHING about percussion.........That Drummer is from another Planet

  • 100% likes lets keep it that way!

  • im not sure why but when 2:41 and on reminds me of and paints some picture in my mind of some Dragonland novel. Some Dungeons and Dragons adventure. Probably just me...

  • GRACIAS...

  • Comment removed

  • mistake at 4:33...comes out of roll early... you can see him shake his head in dissappointment.

  • When I first heard that drum pattern he does near the end i was like.."wtf?? how do you do that??" (i was like 11 or 12).. I totally remember being blown away later though, when i realized how simple it actually is: the china splash on offbeat, yet the alternating snare pattern makes it sound ultra-complicated... In hindsight though, imho, its simply a masterfully crafted drum part. and thats what makes NP so awesome. All his parts are meticulously arranged.
