Every time i hear this song i feel way better....happier...it bring smile to my face...its awesome song...and best band in the world and sadly underrated...
I horrible chapter in human history is told in a very poetic and epic way. This song does not need a video, it plays in your head very vivid. I love the finish
"When the field has become a garden
And the wall has stood the test
Children play and the dogs run barking
Who would think or who would guess"
It is so easy to forget, so many lifes that have been lost. And so many heros that had been sacrifeced so we can live in freedom.
My grandfather took part in one of the firing squads that murdered shell shocked soldiers, his only other option was to be shot himself for the same charge, it broke him for the rest of his life, 1914/18 war
Fantastic band..I remember when they broke through..the Magnum faithful at Sheffield City Hall on this tour went absolutely barmy...the atmosphere was like a football match when your team goes 3-0 up...unbelievably for a rock gig I saw people crying during Les Morts Dansant... just overcome by the sheer majesty of the performance
There's something special I have to say to this song... 25 years ago, almost everything in my live went down... I burried my dreams, lost my long admired love - actually it was the saddest time in my whole entire life. I was never much of a fan of heavy music - but this song saved my life, just listening to it... it gave me hope when everything was lost... thank you so much for posting and God bless Magnum.
This is an incredible piece of poetry, completely independent of the music. A tremendous statement of man's inhumanity to man. I first heard this song on Patty Smyth's solo album, but all possible props to Tony Clarkin for having written this.
yes it is great piece of poetry, im sure you know but Tony say that this song was about a man that would not go "over the top" and his own side shot him, so sad, and patty smyth did a good cover
My friend introduced this song to me - and now I am addicted, can't stop listening! It's so beautiful, so touching and yet so powerful! Thx for posting!
New album is Fantastic, however Les Morts continues to my all time favourite song, Check out bonus DVD with Into the valley of the moonking if you love Les Morts..
I agree, just the way it goes. They didn't get much airplay, apart from "Just Like An Aero", and in the pre-internet days, that was crucial.Other bands like Diamond Head, and later James, suffered the same fate.
my all time fave magnum song,,seen them live birmingham odeon,,one of the must underrated rock groups,,cheers for posting this,,straight into my faves

Many musicians have a song that they wish that they had written. this is mine

one of my favourite songs. Every Magnum album has an anti war song on it! Don't Wake the Lion. Awesome!!!!!!!
