  • After you see these symptoms it is time to euthanize your child

  • to continue, being autistic, the violent behaviours occur more and more when permissive parenting takes place. Autistic children need a lot of love and patience, but they need a VERY VERY firm parent.

  • Being on the spectrum and having worked with such kids and having family members on all levels of the spectrum I will tell 1 thing. The violent behavior often seen is often b/c of permissive parenting. I have a cousin w/ 3 autistic children, she is an autism researcher, and I have NEVER seen her kids attack some1. I'm not trying to bash any1, but trust me discipline is needed even for autistic kids. I say this being an autistic person myself. Structure, routine, discipline, and love.

  • Very good video but I wouldn't have considered Forrest Gump a movie about autism.

  • @lamc93 It isn't

  • @TheTravelfool I had my doubts too.

  • There is another movie for autism the title of Movie is called "Adam" . In the movie, they mention that Adam has Asperger's Syndrome

  • Thanks! (Although I don't understand what you mean by Stereotypical Behaviors in this video. Can you please explain? Thanks!

  • @JoeysBabies1980 Relatively invariant mode of behaviour elicited or determined by a particular situation; may be verbal, postural, or expressive. Stereotypic behaviors such as hand flapping, ritualistic pacing, spinning, lining up objects, or visual inspection of objects are thought to be “automatically” and intrinsically rewarding for many children with autism spectrum disorders.

  • @SzChristie Thanks!

  • I'm 43 and was recently diagnosed with Autism. I'm kind of high functioning, though, so although I wasn't told of which type I have, I think I may have Asperger's, although I'm not entirely sure. I think my IQ level is 79, but again, I'm not entirely sure. Growing up, I had a very hard time in school, I bullied other children and was often bullied myself, and I didn't have many friends. I also had an easier time relating to younger children than those my own age. This video was very helpful.

  • @JoeysBabies1980 79 is very low. I would say you're much higher seeing as you are navigating the internet.

  • nice video

  • someone suggested to me a few days ago i might be autistic having researched alot about it recently the symptoms match mine 100%

  • Forrest Gump wasn't about autism.

  • so am I whale85 - I am autistci too

  • 770,000 children under 16 are disabled

98% of disabled children live at home with parental support

16% of mothers with disabled children work

Raising a disabled child cost three times more than one without disabilities

£15,270 is the average income for families with disabled children

Time for Euthanasia, bring on Adolf Hitler, our Lord Jesus!

  • Thank you for saying that Autism isn't a disease or a certain behavior in the description. People often misunderstand, and think that Autism is a mental disease, because it isn't. It's a different way of viewing/learning things. There isn't anything 'wrong' with us.

  • i recenlty found out about two weeks ago that i'm have autism it really shocked me and it made me kinda mad that i was told when i just turned 17

  • Read a great novel: Born on a blue day. Its an autobiography of a person with Aspergers.

  • Autism is a developmental disorder, right?

Mental retardation is a known issue with autism, the two most known forms of mental impairement are autism and mental retardation.

  • Retard is a better word to describe it!

  • @MultiSnooty Who is the retard??? It's someone named MultiSnooty!

  • I have mild autism,so some of these symptoms I have,and some I don't.

  • I feel exactly the same, i thought i was alone.

  • Actually, I am surprised that the movie Benny and Joon was not mentioned. In that movie, Johnny Depp's character demonstated autistic behaviours.

  • I don't really have a lot of problems with eye contact, but I do have problems with people invading my personal space. I cannot stand people walking behind me or touching me without me initating contact first. The closer you are, the less likely I am to make eye contact. I'm pretty sure that everyone has difficulty with that.

  • Do not be ashamed of who you are. Autism is not a disability, it's a handicap. It will be harder for you than other people, but that does not mean you are hopeless. Sometimes I dread getting up every morning. But not because I want to be different. I wish the world were different. Autistic people can be the most caring, loyal, loving people;we are just socially inept ;) I am just lucky that I am high functioning. But don't let that fool you. I still don't have any friends.

  • I have battled the urge to cut since adolescence. I don't feel mentally disabled, but I feel that it is everyone else that is losing perspective. We are a guest on this planet, and people with the attitude that we have dominion over all other living things really annoy me. I am afraid to leave my house because I am afraid that some drink-driver will plough me over, or some other way that is of no fault of my own. Idiots seem to be running this planet!

  • I feel that symptoms of my "autistic tendencies" (undiagnosed) have also worsened as I have matured. As a child, I was naive, not realising that kids were bullying me (I couldn't differentiate between normal teasing amongst friends and bullying). I also had problems with not realising when people disliked me. But as I grew up, I got more depressed, realising that I was not like everyone else and became disenchanted with the world that we live in. I rarely bang my head, but -->

  • i have a mild case of autism, i have all the symptoms, i have a real hard time interacting with people, and i really don't know how to feel empathy, i'm glad that you made this video.

  • I can feel empathy, but only with those who deserve it. I feel empathy for the victims of violence, but I don't feel sorry for people who drive under the influence and kill themselves. I feel less for those who die due to their own stupidity. And I feel more for empathy for animals and children than adults that are aware of the consequences of their behaviour. I am high functioning also...don't have any friends because I will not sugarcoat things.

  • I am making a playlist about autism and this video will definitely be added. I love the way you explain the disorder(I hate it when people call it a disease). I myself have Asperger's Syndrome, but my symptoms lean more to EIA, but I had no speech delay. Thank you for making this video.

  • "Disease" is overused today; so much that it loses meaning. Eating disorders are labelled as "diseases", so is drug abuse and alcoholism and obesity. Gambling addiction has been even labelled as a disease. Asperger's syndrome is more of a "idiosyncracy" than a "disease". Autism being classified as a "disability" is dependent on its severity.I am high functioning, so I just come across to the NT individual as a weirdo with no friends. They don't think that I am disabled though.

  • Agreed. Disease is way overused. Heck, even disorder and disability are overused.

  • Awesome!

  • it's odd when aspies compare themselves with the lfa's whatever the direction that changes typical brains into auties reversed can be f***ed up too I bet ( half of you don't want to read where I'm going with this)

  • Thank you very much for sharing this video. I am autistic with Asperger's Syndrome, but have the same symptoms described in the video. I really do appeciate you helping to spread the word to other people. Again, thank you.

  • I am so glad you like it. I try to show others the fundamental autistic symptoms and behavior, and I would like if they can understand people with autism / Asperger's. I understand them...

  • @SzChristie yeah i am mild autistic and people like me... this video described otherwise

  • Absolutely excellent ... great video. Very good information, in depth and yet graspable for the viewer. Wonderful choice of music, and amazingly beautiful visual artwork.

I love the keynote, that understanding autistic children is a challenge, yes, but a challenge worth undertaking, because it brings you closer to seeing what precious things await you, once you've learned a bit to find a way towards an autistic child ...

You will find a human soul - the greatest treasure you can find.

  • Thank you so much for your nice words! I'm so glad you like my video. I try to make much better videos than before. Your words motivate me to make more and more ones. ;)

  • Szep video... Gratulalok, Kriszti... ;-)

  • Köszönöm! Örülök, hogy tetszik neked! :)

  • Az első értékelés és a filmedért való első kommentár tőlem vannak...; -) ez neked, Krisztinek egy jó jel... -)
