This is good, most hip hop lyrics are pointless (even undergound), buck is one of the few good ones. If i were him i would just try to seperate myself from all the other hip hop people like sage francis, etc, but i also would go back to stuff like this album, man overboard, square, etc. I like his softer delivery more than his gruffer one ,but that's just me.
I love this stuff. His voices reminds me that of P.O.S's younger years. Its pretty interesting looking at the diversity of an artist from the early years to their later ones.
Dis shit is pretty tight! I can dig it hardcore. Damn, all I did was look for that Durant commercial because I liked the music and BAM!!! I got some more shit to scratch and mix to. I didn't even know the music was even by someone.
shit? you gotta be kidding. buck 65 was one of the best rappers, but music in general i heard when i was younger, and his old albums are WAYY better than secret house against the world and situation. he totally went down with secret house against the world. i dont like his work anymore :( but this is classic. my favorite albums have to be weirdo magnet and man overboard.
music needs more thought and creativity such as this. instead of some average girl injected with all sorts of plastics and botox repeating one line of lyrics composed of second grade spelling words, we need music that is actually considered art... music that makes us think. people need to explore, rummage around, and wade through all the one-dimensional "music" to get to the good stuff.
@laccirb Why do some people just assume that music has to have meaning and creativity. Why cant it just be music. Do you really think Buck 65 works harder than lady ga ga or any other bubble gum pop icon? I just cant believe that. Plus. You can make music with pots and pans man. Lyrics are secondary. Music is priority. I don't believe that any music is one-dimensional. That and i happen to think that Buck 65 is a smug, smug mutha facko. MCL
@pandemicmonster Music created from pots and pans would more thought provoking than that "bubble gum pop" shit. Lyrics are secondary if you're to dumb to appreciate them.
@pandemicmonster Because music is meant to have emotion and be creative. NO ONE wants to listen to songs that just sound the exact same. To me though lyrics mean everything, you could have shit instruments and still have amazing lyrics and I'd love it. Just ny opinion, but I'm sure people will agree. Well except you.
@L61V agree with you man.real lyrics are all thats needed.a great beat is just a bonus.thankfully most underground hip hop artists have the capacity to produce both insane lyrics and beats that complement each other.
I suppose it did not occur to you that music must be creative due to the fact that music can only exist through the process of creation. It is not an assumption-it is a fact.
@AmazingCharles Hardly true, though I wish it was. There are many ways you can create music non-creatively. Heck, I'm a guitarist, and just using the guitar and no other technology I can choose from a number of different fomula that will allow music to come into existance, then I simply play the guitar according to that formula... voila a country song, or a metal song, or just about anything else I chose.
Once you start brining technology into it, there are more choices available.
@laccirb The problem is all these wannabe artists are concerned about getting their name out and be recognized. What is easier than making some dance music? No one is gonna dance to most of Bucks songs. They all wanna hear some ass repeat his name 100s of times in a song *cough* waka flacka
