  • "O lovely Art, in how many grey hours,

When life's fierce orbit ensnared me,

Have you kindled my heart to warm love,

Carried me away into a better world!" Franz von Schober

  • For me this seems to be impossible for a man to play the piano this way.Super.I can not find the words.

  • @KlassikFan2007 I couldn’t no help notice he was not staring at his left hand… that I didn’t not notice he was not staring at his right hand either … he is definitely right handed

  • Your playing of this sonata is simply incredible. I am VERY impressed with everything. Mozart is incredibly hard to play at this level. You play it brilliantly!

  • It looks like he is wearing white gloves, but if you look in the reflection of the piano, he isn't :P

  • Mozart's KV 457 : Beethoven's Op. 13

  • it kind of spoils the mood when i have to watch an ad before a mozart piece

  • @iateyourgranny EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT.....WTH IS THIS??

  • im having my 8th grade exam in like january O.O have to play this. i am terrified. i skipped a grade in piano school this year. i dont know how im going to pass this O.O

  • @katieroxtheearth111 don't worry i had the same feelings like you but this piece is basically consisting of two parts

learning this piece is pretty simple

but to practise the ddetails and every artistic aspects make this piece pretty difficult^^

  • daaaaaaaaamn !!!

su much controll in the left hand

    i envy you *.*

  • This really is very good, and great to hear it on a bosendorfer rather than a boring old steinway

  • You good play very well are very pleasant to hear

  • First rate performance. Thank You!

  • Fantastic expression and interpretation. Beautifully performed!

  • having this in my gradde 8 exam== the day after tomorow

  • @blamefireqian Yeah right. What syllabus? I know that you are lying.

  • love this music on a bosie. those instruments are the sweetest thing for this kind of piano music. amazing sustain in the upper registers allows for longer lines and projections against the light texture of the accompanyment. you almost forget you're not using a damper pedal most of the time. a plus performance. it's said Mozart is easy for children and hard for adults (in spirit i guess) but he manages intensity and playfulness at the same time. bravo

  • @neverknow969 it's not hard to play this piece... what really is hard is to play it like this!!! otherwise it's a medium piece.. not liszt, not oesten either... the difficulty is in expressing what he expresses...!! congratulations mr solist..!

  • Thank you for this beautiful piece. I am a Falun Gong practitioner. Falun Dafa is a cultivation system in the Buddha School based on the principles of the Universe:

    真 Truthfulness

    善 Compassion

    忍 Forbearance.

Since 1999 it has been brutally persecuted by the CCP in China.

  • 25 persons dont know what is music

  • dude i'm stoned from ur music ...

  • Ah! Not as keen on this. There are some beautifully sweet moments in this piece - I love playing it.... I think they need to be captured!? I love your other videos though and your 3/3 of this sonata

  • I must say that I honestly don't like this. I mean, Mozart was a real showoff, and this interpretation doesn't show any of that attitude. The notes are really well played, cut he's missing the "Mozart" that Mozart's pieces have. Just my opinion, don't bully me.

  • @lrodrigomoreno actually i agree, if you need to play mozart like mozart. but... i think its quite nice to listen to. I actually going to start playing it now

  • I hear Mozart making the leap from classical to romantic in this piece.

  • -.-; What is it about classical music that makes people feel Superior to others? It just saddens me that nine times out of ten, the first comments I see have nothing to do with the music at all. There is a man playing his heart out on a Bosendorfor. Not only that, he's playing a piece written by a man who played for kings because he was so brilliant. Can't we just focus on the music? Or would you all rather yell at me for spelling Bosendorfer wrong the first time..

  • Music that makes centuries of history is REAL music

to that uneducated and ignorant little thing below, leave the rest of us alone to enjoy it

    yours faithfully

  • how the fuck someone can listen this type of music?

  • @MsShark09 Becuase some people (who are able to write with correct grammer unlike yourself) have an attention span longer than 1 minute and who are actually engaged by the music. This performance is too Romantic for my taste (you probably do not even know what that means) but if you cannot at least appriciate this quality of music, then you only display your ignorance.

  • @Johannes999999999 in principle, I agree with you. But, friend, you made much more grammar mistakes than MSShark!!

  • @mkhkknn There are a few spelling errors, but I was writing with haste.

  • @Johannes999999999 Yes, I understand ;)

  • @MsShark09 devote yourself at bog cleaning with your tongue.

  • @MsShark09 Matter of taste.

  • @SilentWalk18 matter of good or bad taste ;-)

  • @MsShark09 well its dependant on whether you have a brain or not

  • great piano sound

    grand bosendorfer

  • very smooth :D

    very nice done!

  • The silence at 4:20 it's incredible

  • WOW, a mix of Mozart with an incredible pianist. Amazing, congratulations!

  • I like the fact that he doesn't use pedalling. His melodic lines are very clear. Very artistic a pianist.

  • @freeqwerqwer i heard pedaling though o.0

  • Absolutely wonderful piece. Nicely done!

  • I heard one note slightly off timing. This is unacceptable!!!

  • @u2bMonkey poor being

  • chuck norris dont play piano, the piano play whit chuck norris

  • well done, you're quite talanted :D

  • Good playing, boy.

  • cool

  • amazing!

  • Mozart was a genius

  • This guy = wonderful! :D He is totally enjoying the music he is playing himself. And I am totally amazed by how he play! :D

  • great. well done.

  • fabulous...awesome

  • This dude looks like Demetri Martin everyone once in awhile.

  • @KlassikFan2007 Ohhh! Ha. Anyway, you kicked ass. I start my day off listening to this quite a bit.

  • @bsd300d same here

  • Are you wearing a tux in your apartment????

  • @bsd300d thanks, was on my mind.

  • @bsd300d I tried and tried to make a comment for a response... I thought of many but can only settle on the fact that his tux was tripping me out when I was imagining him in a room alone. *just committed a murder and sits playing maniacally until police arrive*

  • Mozart adoraria vê-lo e ambos felizes , apascentarem os homens com a beleza...Ai como amo gente assim!

  • you play very well :)

  • quite good~~

  • WOW! i cant believe im going to learn this for my grade 8!

  • great

  • très bonne maîtrise, un vrai plaisir à jouer et à entendre quelqu'un qui se fait plaisir!

  • I am pleasantly moved by this piece, very nice work.

  • the attack is so nice and crisp, ahhhh :D

  • I'm learning the alternative mozart's sonata in F movemen three instead..... I found this not to my playing... it sounds good but not the type that I would want to play or even play well

is anyone else playing the prokofiev?

he's good.... it's just the recording I think that isn't supporting his playing all too well.... if the recording was good..... his playing would be complimented to the full extent of what he deserves!!!

  • I don't know about you, but ultra-dry acoustics like this make me tense. I'd be pretty nervous if I were him.

Anyways, bravo! Just the right balance of expression - dare I say I prefer this over Richter's? This puppy is making a beeline for my Favorites.

  • I'm learning this for my grade 8. This is the hardest out of the 3 pieces I've chosen.

You play this amazingly well, it's the best version I've heard of this piece.

  • beware this tempo is faster than you are meant to play- im taking grd8 also

  • aw the cough..

  • que hermosa pieza musical

  • amazing. this is one of my college audition pieces. never heard this played better

  • Exactly!! This is how mozart would have played it!! Nothing less Nothing more

  • Desejo ao mundo

    um pouquinho de tempo

    - pra ser feliz.

    FELIZ 2010!

  • So far this is the best interpretation I've found on YouTube. So many pianists play this in a wooden fashion.

I played this for a competition a while ago, and it's my fave Mozart sonata.

  • great!

  • Now I wanna learn to play the piano, he enjoys this so much.

  • spectacular!!! i'm so speechless!.........

  • really GREAT interpretation! GREAT technique! GREAT performance!

  • really top performance.Cantabile is just gorgeous.there is another way to play it thougg.

    top notch molto molto allegro

    well pedalled til the end.

my favourite piece i have ever seen so far.

    thank you

  • really beautiful

  • i'm starting to learn this song, but now i'm totally depressed cause i've realized i've been playing it ALL wrong.

    this is ridiculously beautiful!

  • You played it ALL wrong? What the h. did you do?

  • maybe he played it in g minor

  • *rofl*

  • really nice playing and CUTE too!!

  • nice piano :)

  • If I remember correctly, this piano costs a fortune - B......, don't remember the brand name.

  • At my dealer is saw a Bosendorfer grand for 60k in euro's o.O, certainly a fortune yea ^^

  • Wow, 60k euro is equal to how much in US dollar ????

  • 80k at least

  • Bösendorfer

  • WOW ! Impresionante !

  • omg!!! u play it very good !!! love it!!!

  • its a way of playing called staccato where you play the note as fast as possible

  • Horowitz' version is better.

  • that's a great compliment lol

p.s. did horowitz play this sonata at all? I never heard his recording. Anyway, he used to 'over-romanticize' mozart which many still irritates many people, mostly those who cannot themselves play two notes

  • Well you can probably write that on every other performances loaded on YouTube.

  • A romanticized take on Mozart, stylistically speaking. Nice to see a risk-taker. Well done.

  • Incredible playing! Bravo!

    Clay

  • Spiritual, and almost moving... Nicely played

  • Very good.

  • That Bosie is delicious!

  • Good job!

  • beautiful piece

  • nice piano !!!! nice nice ncie

  • simply fantastic!

  • Incredible piece! I enjoy classical music and this is a perfect example why. Does anybody know how to whistle this tune?

  • dude...i was thinking that.

  • inspirational, thank you for posting

  • Excellent !

  • Severa....severa....geniall

  • too romantic for me, pretty but mozart would turn in his grave i think :)

  • ...and Bach would turn in his grave if he heard Mozart... and Beethoven would kill himself if he heard Bartok... and Brahms would go crazy if he heard Schnitke... LoL

  • 'tis true, 'tis true. Lol...:) But very nice...well done!

  • 0:18 - 0:24 is a lovely melody.

  • Viennese music played on a Viennese instrument, PERFECTO!!!!

  • Genius....

  • i love it when Mozart composed in minor keys. ^_^

  • what does KV 457 mean??

  • The Köchel-Verzeichnis is a complete, chronological catalogue of compositions by Mozart which was originally created by Ludwig von Köchel. It is abbreviated K or KV.

  • This is a beautiful performance of this work. And the Bösendorfer's beautiful too.

  • hohohooh sh..XD

I want to be like you :Ñ

    ojoajajoa I <3<3<3 this song

  • haha this guys really into it!!! IDOL!!!!!

  • I would too if I didn't suck lol

  • regardless of how easy other people find this piece, this guy is really talented and precise and controlled with his playing.

  • how in the world does anyone move their fingers that friggin fast! Wow..

  • easy...just practice it slow then gradually move up in tempo

  • And who do you think you are to give advice to a master pianist? An asshole? Most probably, and n arrogant one at that!

  • good greif! i want to learn the piano but i don't think i've got time in my too busy life(i play classical guitar)QUESTION: How the hell do you learn an instument to that degree whilst holding down a blummin job? anyway you are brilliant, bravo!

  • this is very nice, but perhaps too romantic for Mozart's style. 2nd mvt is awesome though.

  • i think there's too much rubato and it not mozart's style during the classical period :X

  • I agree. The interpretation is definitely interesting and the performance is wonderful, but Mozart wrote this for fortepiano. I am not saying it must be played on one, but I think efforts should be made to preserve the long, irregular silences and the staccato character of the entire piece.

  • The problem with your statement is, i think, that it is very difficult to argue WHY "efforts should be made to preserve the long, irregular silences and the staccato character"... Should efforts be made that all female parts in Shakespeare's dramas should be performed by boys as in Shakespeare's own time? Should old music be played on historic instruments only? etc.

  • long live mozart

  • too late =p

  • Thumbs up! :D

  • im 15 and learning this piece currently. i have the 1st 2 1/2 pages memorized, but i have a ways to go. I am wondering if i am where i should be in my playing, if i'm learning this piece at my age is that considered good or bad? I mean should i be farther ahead in my studies or am i where i need to be?

  • great job there man. thats my diploma piece.. its pretty long though

  • nice nice....its my grade 8 piece ^^

  • Excellent!!

  • nice ! real nice !!

  • amazing. this is such an awesome piece.

  • I've played the beginning of this song through many a time... I haven't learned past the first 2 minutes.... there are some tough runs that I'm working on.

This seems to be executed pretty amazingly, trills are pretty effortless, and you pull off the triplet runs so well at the pace that you are playing.... they are intensely hard!

  • i luv it so much :>

  • VIVAT HURRA! Bravo!

  • Bravo!

  • Great playing, you really feel how to play this part well. Good work!

  • a bit too sweat for me.. It should get more fire, especially the part in E flat major. Too much Chopin, too little Mozart in it:P

  • There are parts that i agree should also just be played simply, but i think thats just interpretation, as the performance was very professional and well played.

  • interesting comment about accelrando but on harpsichord days it was necessary to do these aaas there were no dynamics, i know i ve studied harpsichord,The piano fort meant we could be the orchetra and i love his winderful playing that so out sdoes the likes of baramboim and sciff. which is for me too clinical.

  • I agree. You can imagine what Mozart would've done had he been presented this piano, curious and innovative, just as I think is Vadim, rediscovering the pieces, the instrument and sound every time. I love his style, its so on the spot and in the moment.

  • You make it look so easy, the playful, composed look on your face is that of someone merely cutting carrots. Wonderful job!

  • What does that video have anything to do with this one? You get a big whopping thumbs down spammer!

  • What?????????

  • Mozart had been dead for 39 years by 1830. Please explain the relevance of your comment.

  • lol. Mozartian.

  • Good phrasing and interpretation. A joy to listen to.

  • Nice!!!
