@infraredna The spark knock you talk of is called pre-detonation; the nose you are talk of is the car moving at 80+ mph with windows open. The timing in the car was set to 10* btdc just so you know, and that would be the stock ford setting.

what is the rev limit of the 373 gears? And on my 5.0 i can shift into nutural without hitting the clutch is that normal and they gind from first all the way to third gear. Can u hit me back with some info brah i would appriciate it.

rev limit is 6250 rpm on all stock 5.0 efi. Yes you can shift in to nutural just by letting off the gas a little while you are driving. The grinding what you shift, might be a miss adj clutch or bad synchronizers in the trans.

When I got my tko 600 I talk to the guy at MMR and he has been racing for year and rebuilding transmissions for racecar just as long. He took a custermers car at the track who was power stifting it and ran it for him, it was 3 tenths faster shifting it slower and it was the fastest the car had ever run!! call them and ask them.

It has somthing to due with not upsetting the car, let the front of the car bounce when you shift it ( let the clutch out when the frount of the car is down catch it on the rebound )try this and you will see and the rpm's should be very close to the next gears when you let the clutch out. it will feel like a very hard shift when you do it right and IS faster.
