the Canadians had STENS who also btw were there at the beach. its not unrealistic to believe an American Soldier dropped his BAR or rifle in the channel and picked up a dead Soldiers weapon....just a possibility
also how do you know its not American troops on a British beach? its not Omaha Utah Gold sword or Juno, its just a General DDay reenactment for the public
As i explained in an older comment this battle was a show for the public, and the British and US are on the beach because we were reenacting DDay as a whole, There was NO weapon hire at this even so all rifles were owned by the reenacters and with no guns there isnt much of a battle so we dissregarded historical accuracy of the weapons country regeions so that we could put on a show. the guns are wrong but its better than no guns at all that go bang
What bullets are these? They do make fire spark like real guns, and do make noise like real guns, then what are they? are these the same bullets used in movies?
The Weapons are a mixture of Blank Fire'ers and Real weapons fireing Blanks. Blanks are real bullets with no head so they dont shoot anything out the barral except resedue and fire. and ofcourse a nice BANG!
Well we dont really want to use airsoft guns because we like big boy guns that go bang! and the idea of the reenacment is to put on a show for the public not to actualy shoot at eachother with 6mm's. there are some airsoft reenacters but they just do it at Airsoft sites and probably dont do public displays ect
some Members of the 29th ID Stonewallers (Group im in) made the hedgehogs and the landing craft from Wood for the show, We had permission beacuse it was a DDay event in the New Forest, we had lots of Veterans come to the show and to see the Living History displays and not just the battle, the battle is part of the days events.
Yes, this event had no weapon hire and in the UK we cannot own weapons that are not shot gun licenced or Bolt Action. so all the fireing weapons at the show were blanc fireing only guns which is why there are GI's with British weapons and German weapons ect, there is one Paratrooper with a Scoped mosin, so it was basicaly whatever gun u got that goes bang bring it along because we need to put on a show
No the guy with one arm was probably a tribute to the D-Day scene in "Saving Private Ryan". There was a brief part where you can see a guy with an arm blown off by artillery who picks it up off the ground.
1:33 the dude has a mosin nagant with scope ? awsome tho wish i was there to bad im airborne :( :D

when the second boat came, why did the men have plastic bags or something like that wrapped around their guns?
argorn8778 2 years ago
Yeah on DDay the soldiers were issued plastic bags so that the guns would not get wet on the approach to the beach
29thinfantryuk 2 years ago 24
i didn't notice the people watching at first
argorn8778 2 years ago
did you use effects for the gunshots or were the men firing blanks?
argorn8778 2 years ago
there all blanc fireing guns, but i have added some muzzle flashes to them as most were top venters.

Because it was just a show and we wanted the British in the battle aswell as the Americans. it was a DDay reenactment for the public.

its all blank ammunition in this battle

didn't the ramp on the landing craft for the U.S 1st go down early and almost tip the craft up?
FinalFreek 2 years ago
It did indeed, the landing craft dipped forward and went up about chest height in water, quite scary but no one was hurt
29thinfantryuk 2 years ago
that's good to hear but i bet the gorup got a bit wet.
