Thank you for posting this. During the Christmas of 2011 I made a sign for the BNSF rr, in short it just thanked them for supplying the coal that keeps the lights turned on. I love the RR and the men and women who make it work. Its a great part of this country's infrastructure. Without the railroad, this country would. I still think trucking is also a great part of the integrated fabric of this country, the 2 together move the USA,,,,,THANK YOU.
@bonnieWestVirginia THANK YOU. You might wangt to look up Orin WY. Its history is scant but I do know the station was named after the son of someone important with the C&NW RR. The the BN '70 (Burlington Northern) the "Q" or CB&Q pre '69 (Chicago Buerlington & Quincy) presently BNSF Railway '95 named it the Orin Line in the 70's after Orin WY being the location of a new junction coincendently called ORIN JUNCTION. The C&NW came first but the "Q" soon followed to Casper and the Wyoming interior.
@bonnieWestVirginia Might I also add for clarification the C&NW toady is part of the Union Pacific Railroad. And they have abandoned and ripped up the track from Orin Jct to Lander WY. Only the BNSF still use the route. the UPRR ( C&NW) cutoff at Shawnee WY about 8 maybe 9 miles RR east to connect with the newly built (1970's) BN line to the coal mines to the north. Hope theis info isnt too much just thought you might be interested.
Where you get that tune? Its not Foghat's Slow Ride, its not this from 'Music shake', or I couldn't find it. Please give me some tip where I can find it :)
@jestestuman To my knowledge no. I believe its protected something simialar to a cell phone ringtone with like drm protection or something along those lines. the only way i even know to get to it is to attempt uploading a video and then choose alterrnative music for your vid. hope that helped ...
Highest tonnage by train in the area yes, but highest tonnage over all goes to CN ;) They move the longest and heaviest trains in north America. Great video!
When you say World's Highest Tonnage do you mean heaviest trains or the most tonnage moved in a day. Because where I live in Australia they have the worlds longest and heaviest trains.........pulled by fully imported American locomotives of course, nothing else would last the distance. I like the way you guys build your machinery....it's bullet proof.
@gm16v149 The Orin line is the highest tonnage hauled total by the trains that travel on the line. The individual trains are not the highest tonnage trains in the world, those are in Australia.
@gm16v149 It is the highest tonnages annually. of coarse our trains can reach up to 2 miles long and in some cases do whereas if I am correct our coal hoppers and gons are a wee bit longer than Australian Ore jinnys. but also I take into consideration that Iron ore is more dense than coal so it explains how the trains in australias pilbara region quickly surpass the net tons of an american Coal train.... By the way Aussie trains rock and thanks for using Yankee muscle to pull em ...
@renotimothy Yes the coal hoppers are a lot bigger than the iron-ore. They unload them 2 a time in a rotary dump (110 tons a car). BHP are stadardising on SD70Ace, Rio Tinto on GE 4400s, lots of brand new locos up there.
When I retire I'll get over to the U.S. to check out the railroad scene over there, your mountains and railroad action are a helluva lot bigger than ours!
i was close to workin with ya'll out of Gillette but due to some circumstances (cell number in washington screwed me, they set up my weight lift testing for the Seattle BNSF yard instead of Gillette, so i had to bow out as being a conductor).
Cool. I was hoping someone that was in the vid would see it. Unfortunately due to format differences I was unable to get anymore ripped from the disc. Note the Background music had to be dubbed over also because of licensing agreements.
Hey, my grandpa lives in Gillette, i've been there twice. I got some good film last year, but a hard drive crash deleted all my film. But on my other channel I have a video of an officer car special in Gillette.

@gm16v149 I think he meant both. There is over 400,000,000 tons that leave the PBR every year.
