Ugh. My biggest tech review pet peeve: saying that these types of product are "Apple-esque."

HP has been making black and silver computers long before Apple and their boring all-white plastic designs. The iBook/MacBook was also not the first laptop to use that type of hinge. Apple did not invent nice packaging. However once Apple does these things and makes them popular, everyone suddenly forgets history. It's maddening.

And I say this typing from my MacBook, so I'm not biased against Apple.

and what do I get? I can't hear what you're saying since the music isn't ducking, so this video is unwatchable for me I'm afraid

Not only that but they are Using some of the best technology to date! the i3 i5 and i7! CPUS! So I will be getting a GREAT i7 Laptop WITHOUT breaking the bank like MACBOOK :D It will cost less and Give similar if not greater performance! MAC was never for me! I always liked building PC's Because its fun and you learn a lot about technology were as MAC is plain no customization, And For me its confusing to use :) Yea I will get a lot of macbook haters, But I LOVE Windows 7 a lot better!

I know I this laptop will sell well! I installed ubuntu and mac on my PC and I gotta tell you man I just don't like the Os's at ALL I love Windows 7 ALOT more. With a fresh install of Windows 7 it will run fast! I've always wanted a PC that had MAC style design but at the same time to run Windows 7! Now HP HAS delivered! And this is next on my List! I am using an HP laptop right now and I have to say HP has always been a great PC manufacturer. Thank You HP for all your wonderful Products!

i mainly use my laptop for developing and programming so my battery does last very long since i mainly use linux

all you ppl tlking of the mac well if you really own a mac you would know that is doesnt last more than 3.5 hrs when using windows7 using bootcamp and quite frankly i dont mind if they copied it atleast they launched a macbook pro lookalike with an i7 processor not like apple who dont fullfill thier promises

this thing is really nice.

about the battery: apple builds in a modern lithium polymer battery in their mac book pros, they also save space because it's not removable and therefor can built in a larger battery. last but not least, mac os x causes less unnecessary activities which also saves power...

I don't really understand why hp sets the price so high for the envy.

it's 6 for the hp envy 15, because it's a powerhouse,. envy 13 can definitely last 18hrs if it's quadcore 16gig alternative lasts 6hrs.

macbook pro hits 8 hours if you're doing NOTHING. I can hit 3 hours on my macbook pro when watching youtube videos. Less if I'm multitasking.

Also, the macbook pro has a bigger battery.

HP comes with a 4cell battery whereas the Macbook pro comes with huge 8cell battery non-removable.

WIth the slice battery you can manage over 10 hours of battery life. The envy 15 only hits 6 hours with the slice battery.

why the hell is everybody trying to copy the mackbooks (purpose typo) they're so ugly, way to simplistic, too weak as far as performance, have a less-than-mainstream os and then come with a pricetag of a decent used car. I'd rather just skip the bullshit, get an unbranded notebook that looks ass ugly with some bitchin' specs, and install linux. then, I'll have a computer that I can do anything with that nobody would want to steal, and still come out $600 ahead, enough for a mud truck. good times
