Actually there was never a fourth week for Neku. When he's on the ground screaming "What the hell?!", in the background the crowd is surrounding him with concern instead of walking right past him like they did when he was dead. The whole 7 days later thing was more for symbolic reasons.
@KopaXTani I really hope so! There are plenty of interviews with Nomura stating that he definitely wants to make a sequel. With the creation of the 3DS and introducing TWEWY to KH, it seems quite likely that there will be one.
@homicidalpsychokat ok, i suppose i get that. my question is now though, that what was Hanekoma referring to? "some folks just don't take no for an answer." joshua was at least a bit upset about something he wanted, that he was told he couldn't have or do. what was it? and "it's their world, they get to decide what to do with it." if joshua didn't want to destroy Shibuya, why would Hanekoma need to tell him that?
@meeperpieman While I honestly can't say what Hanekoma is refering to, I do know FOR SURE it has nothing to do with Shibuya's untimely destruction. It does appear to be geared specifically towards Neku and his friends though. Perhaps he wants to join them like everyone else below us seems to think? Perhaps he is in desperate need of officers and the like (since majority of them were erased)? Square left this EXTREMELY open ended so I suppose we'll find out in the sequel :)
"this mess is gonna have repercussions upstairs" the higher plane decides to erase neku and his friend for cheating the shit out of the game, so they all have to go BACK to the U.G.? yeah there's definitely room for a sequel.
@homicidalpsychokat i don't remember seeing that in any secret report, which one was it? and if he decided to let the world stay as it is, how do you explain the lines "it's their world, they get to decide what to do with it" and "some people just don't take no for an answer"?
@meeperpieman Beat, Day 7. Read the entire report. He has no desire to destroy Shibuya because it changed for the better also reflecting his own sense of enlightenment. He finally grasped that even the worst example of an individual can improve (E.G. Neku) thus making him optimistic and feel that Shibuya can and will grow as a city too. After all, he wanted to destroy it simply because he felt that it was too stagnate and un-improving.
@meeperpieman Cont. Neku came along and tore apart that perception. Honestly, count how many times Josh was rendered speechless by Neku's various contemplations on what it means to expand one's horizons. He'd pause for a good moment before doing a shitty job of trying to cover it up. "Your face is priceless," anyone? In any case, Josh was heavily influenced by Neku to spare Shibuya.
@VanitasLover umm well josh died i assume but why does he looks like that and i forgot who he was talking to i think all his friends right or wait was it josh i cant remember (FRUSTRATED)
@thechoafan He doesn't die, that's his true form as Composer. Neku lost the last fight with him, he shot Neku, and Neku had to play the game one last time. Neku was talking to Joshua, especially when he said "I can't forgive you, but I trust you." And "See you there?" He wanted Joshua to meet up with them. And by the way Joshua left at the end of the secret ending here, I'd assume he's a bit jealous of Neku's friends xD

@meeperpieman The secret reports directly state that Joshua stayed his hand not because the Higher Plane told him to but because he DECIDED to. "It seems the course of the Game has brought about a change of heart in the Composer. ...As the Composer has changed, so Shibuya itself has metamorphosed. "
@AppleKingdom987 Sorta, more than angry he was sad to be unable to joing the group. I mean Neku changed his mind about people and Shibuya, he actually grew to appreciate Neku. Hanekoma just pointed out that they can't interfere with them directly anymore, so Joshua just left.
Interesting, I never thought of that. You may be right about that! I bet the entire game was considered null and void since Joshua broke so many rules and ended up not keeping his end of the deal, so everyone's entry fee was returned completely. including the lives they have lost.

Just letting you all know so your welcomes :-) And is it just me or am I the only one who loves Neku's headphones? Their pretty badass if ya ask me (-:
i feel sorry for joshua... even though he was annoying, and what he did to neku was sorta bad, i still feel sorry for him... =w= he was alone for a long time, and he never got to join w/ neku and the others in their reunion... =w=
@ffviifangirl1 That's actually what I think "One week later" was. Neku didn't play a fourth game, he and the others probably just had to explain things to their parents, and Shibuya's a big place, so it must've taken a while to find each other.
@DuskChill I figure the Composer manipulates the minds of people in direct touch with the winning players to make them forget they were ever gone. It would be kinda like what he did during the Red Skull pin ordeal. I'm even willing to wager that the players themselves will eventually forget The Game. That would explain why nobody knows what happens after death (unless they're Reapers).
When Square-Enix finishes Kingdom Hearts III, Which is in about 4 years, THEY HAVE TO MAKE A SUQUEL OF THIS GAME! BEST GAME EVER! But KH is better.. >:3
They should seriously make a sequel. Problem is, what would it be about? He's already alive, so there isn't more to it. I'm happy most ppl have a happy ending
@DestinyBell864 Well if it was a sequel, I'd hope it'd have something to do with Joshua and Sanae getting into some SERIOUS trouble. They both broke SO MANY RULES within three weeks! Killing someone in the RG? Abandoning The Game? Near destruction of an ENTIRE district? Creating taboo noise to KILL YOUR COMPOSER?!
Sanae's actions could turn him into a fallen angel. Gawd knows what could happen to Joshua. Neku could be there to save their asses somehow XD.
@merpmeep The way I interpreted the secret reports is that the citizens of Higher Plane don't yet know who told Minamimoto the secrets of Taboo Noise, the identity of the Composer, etc. Therefore, he's not quite a fallen angel even though his actions would designate him so. He'll be a true fallen once they catch him and and then punish him accordingly (I hope it's not by death!). I'm probably wrong in this case, but that's just the way I perceived it XD
@VanitasLover nomura wants there to be a sequel , but theres so much else to do. i just hope they keep all the main characters and don't change any of them , cause i know everybody can get attached to these characters easily :C
@naythien Haha, I'm completely attached to Joshua now, I seriously cried when I found out he was the Composer. They most likely would keep the main characters, otherwise where's the fun in that? I would love to see Joshua mend things with Neku, besides Mr. H, Neku was his only real friend.
@VanitasLover Indeed , it makes me sad because we know how much joshua wants to join them in their reunions and so on , but he can't. This game is perfect to be an anime , i don't see why square don't consider it. I mean their hopefully going to make a sequel once they come up with a solid plot for a sequel and they finish all their current games in progress , but i wish they would do something else too like make an anime out of this one.
@naythien I'm sure he could, like how he changed his appearance to that of the Joshua we know. We know he CAN go to the RG because he went there to get Neku. I think it's just because Joshua is alot like Neku once was, definately not good with people. And I just noticed, but when you go to fight Mr. H in Another Side Day, while you're chasing him up Pork City Neku says something about a friend he used to have, one that was just like him, the only person he could trust. Joshua maybe?
@VanitasLover I think for a sequel , square should do about neku and the others being dragged through all the other UG'S , I mean like if each of them became composers of the UG's for other places , joshua did say that there are other UG'S other than shibuya , and it's possible that neku and others might begin to get bored with everyday life and want to expirience the adventure they felt from shibuya's reaper game. but they'd need a way to enter the UG's

Anyway, I've said this before but the crew could also be in charge of saving Joshua and Hanekoma's hindquarters from the wrath of the Higher Plane. In this scenario the audience could experience an entirely different field of the Game without ridding us of our lovable cast. We don't know shit about HP, so why waste an opportunity to explore it in-depth instead of rehashing something we already know about with a bunch of new characters?
@naythien BTW My comment is geared more toward the field you're exploring rather than your specific comment! I quite like your idea of Neku and CO crash landing across various UGs. It could show different types of Noise and Games. Then they could go back home and bitch Joshua out for not doing such and such (if he wasn't already there with them). Hell it could be some sort of punishment on Josh's part, being forced to watch and learn from very successful Games. Many possibilities!
@DestinyBell864 Actaully, there's other ways to make a sequel or a second game of The World Ends With You. A sequel of the game could have Neku die again, meeting new people to fight with, which is lame XD Or they could have The Game be brought into the Over World instead of the UnderGrounds, kind of like a glitch or something with Joshua's powers. Or if they wanted a second game, they could have completely new characters when Joshua's time as the Composer is over, in the future.
@Muralhator Having read Wikis and finished collecting the secret reports (good thing I saw this video or I'd never have seen the Stinger, having forgetten about it) one theory is that, in the Another Day chapter, Mr. H told that Neku he might need him "sooner than either of us think".
Seems to suggest a sequel could take place in one of them alternate worlds the game toys with.
@Muralhator Yeah, but (SPOILERS) the Mr. H who said that to Neku was the Mr. H from the rest of the game, not the one from the Tin Pin Slammer universe. Seems people of his ilk are able to move between dimensions pretty easily. So he might not need the Tin Pin Neku in a sequel, but he might use one from another dimension. Or they could have a completely different cast in a different city playing the Reaper's Game?
My theory is that because Joshua was supposed to erase Shibuya but didnt . The OverGround(Possible name for where those angels live?) is coming apart and neku has to save it somehow but their most likely making a sequel so just wait and see
@TheLostPlayer222 You have to read the secret reports. Sanae mentions it a couple times particularly when explaining what he is and what purpose he serves for the Game.
@TheCr4zymik3 Unfortunately, not that I know of. I think that Square Enix is a little busy right now, focusing on other things, but I could be wrong. But don't worry and keep your hopes up, because in this crazy world of fan service, anything can happen.
P.S. If any one knows for a fact that they, or another company is making a sequel for this, feel free to correct me.
It's unknown what Joshua is, Hanekoma obviously an angel. Joshua is implied to be a god or deity as his powers can alter reality. I really love how Joshua wants to stay and join Neku. Their friendship is really unique and lovely. Of course I love it how Joshua calls him 'dear' and stuff.
@davidcoimbra3 No duh. Joshua isn't just the composer, If you collect the secret reports it is revealed that Joshua is not human. It is believed that he is a 'creator' of sorts. If I had to make a guess, I would state that Joshua is the physical creation of 'Shibuya's thoughts.' He dictates the way in which Shibuya lives and breathes. As stated he has the power to wipe Shibuya from existence, both RG and UG. Joshua's imagination is able to alter reality, Composer is just a title.
Joshua is a fucking asshole. I doubt he wanted to stay with Neku and friends. I think he's disappointed in Neku for not shooting. Basically, Neku said "No." to being the composer and Joshua's upset about that. He's a spoiled brat and hate him for that.
@Crapcarp555 However much you may dislike Joshua is no reason to use flawed logic just to hate on him. He's not that bad, in fact Mr H did say that he's been alone all his life. Josh is just lonely and his time with Neku showed him what it's like to have friends, opening up a bit.
Why else did he spare Neku and Shibuya? Why would he be upset that Neku said no and didn't shoot? I think it was there that he saw the full change in Neku and he probably felt something back in return.
I suppose that tricking Neku into destroying Shibuya and have Neku grieve over him when he didn't die and actually did kill him is bad logic to hate on Joshua. Seriously, I wanted to choke him when he said "You should see your face." I don't give a shit if Joshua was lonely, he's not even human. I doubt he even felt anything at all. He spared Shibuya for a vareity of reasons, not just how Neku reacted. He's still an ass-hole.
@Crapcarp555 Despite what Joshua did, Neku and Shibuya still stand and Joshua is alone once again in the end. Even if he killed Neku and played him like a harp, Neku ended up with friends, everyone got their second chance (including Rhyme) and he didn't destroy Shibuya.
Joshua had a change of heart and that's what counted to the happy ending we got with this game. Say what you like, but if Joshua was truly heartless he wouldn't have done any of that and he wouldn't be so sad here.
I suppose Joshua wanted to be human and live like one. Which makes him such an ass-hole because he's like "Okay Neku, take my job so I can be happy," and Neku just wanted to be with his friends. Joshua didn't destroy Shibuya for four reasons: 1.) Rhyme's selflessness. 2.) Iron Bitch's coldness 3.) Ram-crouch's "bottomless career ambitions"(not exactly sure what that means) and 4.) Condutor's wild actions born from over-flowing love...TBC
@Crapcarp555 The reason Joshua didn't destroy Shibuya was because if Neku (The worst in Shibuya) could change then maybe Shibuya could as well. It says so in the secret reports. None of your reasons (with the exception of 4 and possibly 1) really make sense as to Joshua's decision. It all came down to Neku in the end. You raise a very good point, but the bond Neku forged with Joshua really handed down his decision.
What secret reports have you read? Nowhere does it say that Joshua didn't destroy Shibuya because of Neku, nor did it ever say he was the worst in Shibuya. And the four reasons I gave were actually the reasons why Joshua didn't destroy Shibuya. It is in the secret reports, maybe you haven't read them all(it's the second to last one). Please get you facts right before making your arguments please, it makes it easier on everyone involved.
@Crapcarp555 OK, jeez. I made a mistake, sorry. But even if it's not in the secret reports, what evidence is there against that theory? It may still be accurate.
Anyway, can we now agree that Joshua, while snobby and rude at times, isn't a bad person and does care about Neku to some degree? Why did he let Neku live after all? He's a nice guy at heart.
(con't)...So Joshua didn't destroy Shibuya because he felt a little love, he didn't do it because he saw how people react under immense pressure. It restored his faith in Shibuya, therefore, he didn't need to destroy it.
For some who may be confused, Joshua was sad cause he couldn't rejoin neku and his friends at hachiko in the RG. That was who mr. H was talking to (the white guy is Joshua for some to know)
It would be weird to have a 3DS sequel, since you need to keep trained on the top screen to see the 3D, and the combat requires using both screens at once.
Was that Joshua in all white

DuskChill 2 months ago
@DuskChill I figure the Composer manipulates the minds of people in direct touch with the winning players to make them forget they were ever gone. It would be kinda like what he did during the Red Skull pin ordeal. I'm even willing to wager that the players themselves will eventually forget The Game. That would explain why nobody knows what happens after death (unless they're Reapers).

They should seriously make a sequel. Problem is, what would it be about? He's already alive, so there isn't more to it. I'm happy most ppl have a happy ending
DestinyBell864 2 months ago 10
@DestinyBell864 Well if it was a sequel, I'd hope it'd have something to do with Joshua and Sanae getting into some SERIOUS trouble. They both broke SO MANY RULES within three weeks! Killing someone in the RG? Abandoning The Game? Near destruction of an ENTIRE district? Creating taboo noise to KILL YOUR COMPOSER?!
Sanae's actions could turn him into a fallen angel. Gawd knows what could happen to Joshua. Neku could be there to save their asses somehow XD.
homicidalpsychokat 2 months ago 3
@homicidalpsychokat
Mr. H is already a fallen angel, with that punishment in effect for teaching Sho how to make taboo noise he will most likely be killed.
merpmeep 2 months ago
@merpmeep The way I interpreted the secret reports is that the citizens of Higher Plane don't yet know who told Minamimoto the secrets of Taboo Noise, the identity of the Composer, etc. Therefore, he's not quite a fallen angel even though his actions would designate him so. He'll be a true fallen once they catch him and and then punish him accordingly (I hope it's not by death!). I'm probably wrong in this case, but that's just the way I perceived it XD

@VanitasLover nomura wants there to be a sequel , but theres so much else to do. i just hope they keep all the main characters and don't change any of them , cause i know everybody can get attached to these characters easily :C
naythien 2 weeks ago
@naythien Haha, I'm completely attached to Joshua now, I seriously cried when I found out he was the Composer. They most likely would keep the main characters, otherwise where's the fun in that? I would love to see Joshua mend things with Neku, besides Mr. H, Neku was his only real friend.
VanitasLover 2 weeks ago
@VanitasLover Indeed , it makes me sad because we know how much joshua wants to join them in their reunions and so on , but he can't. This game is perfect to be an anime , i don't see why square don't consider it. I mean their hopefully going to make a sequel once they come up with a solid plot for a sequel and they finish all their current games in progress , but i wish they would do something else too like make an anime out of this one.
naythien 2 weeks ago
@naythien I'm sure he could, like how he changed his appearance to that of the Joshua we know. We know he CAN go to the RG because he went there to get Neku. I think it's just because Joshua is alot like Neku once was, definately not good with people. And I just noticed, but when you go to fight Mr. H in Another Side Day, while you're chasing him up Pork City Neku says something about a friend he used to have, one that was just like him, the only person he could trust. Joshua maybe?
VanitasLover 2 weeks ago
@VanitasLover I think for a sequel , square should do about neku and the others being dragged through all the other UG'S , I mean like if each of them became composers of the UG's for other places , joshua did say that there are other UG'S other than shibuya , and it's possible that neku and others might begin to get bored with everyday life and want to expirience the adventure they felt from shibuya's reaper game. but they'd need a way to enter the UG's
this is all theoretical

@naythien Suicide Club AAAAAHH! LOL
Anyway, I've said this before but the crew could also be in charge of saving Joshua and Hanekoma's hindquarters from the wrath of the Higher Plane. In this scenario the audience could experience an entirely different field of the Game without ridding us of our lovable cast. We don't know shit about HP, so why waste an opportunity to explore it in-depth instead of rehashing something we already know about with a bunch of new characters?
homicidalpsychokat 1 week ago
@naythien BTW My comment is geared more toward the field you're exploring rather than your specific comment! I quite like your idea of Neku and CO crash landing across various UGs. It could show different types of Noise and Games. Then they could go back home and bitch Joshua out for not doing such and such (if he wasn't already there with them). Hell it could be some sort of punishment on Josh's part, being forced to watch and learn from very successful Games. Many possibilities!
homicidalpsychokat 1 week ago
@DestinyBell864 Actaully, there's other ways to make a sequel or a second game of The World Ends With You. A sequel of the game could have Neku die again, meeting new people to fight with, which is lame XD Or they could have The Game be brought into the Over World instead of the UnderGrounds, kind of like a glitch or something with Joshua's powers. Or if they wanted a second game, they could have completely new characters when Joshua's time as the Composer is over, in the future.
EGproXL 2 weeks ago
there can't be a sequel... I would love to... but... YOU GUYS WANT NEKU TO DIE? AGAIN?FOR THE...well 4th or 6th time?
Muralhator 3 months ago
@Muralhator Having read Wikis and finished collecting the secret reports (good thing I saw this video or I'd never have seen the Stinger, having forgetten about it) one theory is that, in the Another Day chapter, Mr. H told that Neku he might need him "sooner than either of us think".
Seems to suggest a sequel could take place in one of them alternate worlds the game toys with.
TaliesinMyrddin 3 months ago
@TaliesinMyrddin Makes sense, but another day wasn't the pin slammer episode after you finish it all?
Muralhator 3 months ago
@Muralhator Yeah, but (SPOILERS) the Mr. H who said that to Neku was the Mr. H from the rest of the game, not the one from the Tin Pin Slammer universe. Seems people of his ilk are able to move between dimensions pretty easily. So he might not need the Tin Pin Neku in a sequel, but he might use one from another dimension. Or they could have a completely different cast in a different city playing the Reaper's Game?
TaliesinMyrddin 3 months ago
@TaliesinMyrddin ... ok reapers invade the rg and neku and friends will beat them up... how about it?

It's unknown what Joshua is, Hanekoma obviously an angel. Joshua is implied to be a god or deity as his powers can alter reality. I really love how Joshua wants to stay and join Neku. Their friendship is really unique and lovely. Of course I love it how Joshua calls him 'dear' and stuff.

@SoraKairiRiku4eva Joshua is the Composer. It's revealed after defeating the final boss from the storyline.
davidcoimbra3 4 months ago
@davidcoimbra3 No duh. Joshua isn't just the composer, If you collect the secret reports it is revealed that Joshua is not human. It is believed that he is a 'creator' of sorts. If I had to make a guess, I would state that Joshua is the physical creation of 'Shibuya's thoughts.' He dictates the way in which Shibuya lives and breathes. As stated he has the power to wipe Shibuya from existence, both RG and UG. Joshua's imagination is able to alter reality, Composer is just a title.
SoraKairiRiku4eva 4 months ago
@SoraKairiRiku4eva
Joshua is a fucking asshole. I doubt he wanted to stay with Neku and friends. I think he's disappointed in Neku for not shooting. Basically, Neku said "No." to being the composer and Joshua's upset about that. He's a spoiled brat and hate him for that.
Crapcarp555 4 months ago
@Crapcarp555 However much you may dislike Joshua is no reason to use flawed logic just to hate on him. He's not that bad, in fact Mr H did say that he's been alone all his life. Josh is just lonely and his time with Neku showed him what it's like to have friends, opening up a bit.
Why else did he spare Neku and Shibuya? Why would he be upset that Neku said no and didn't shoot? I think it was there that he saw the full change in Neku and he probably felt something back in return.
Xackadee 4 months ago
@Xackadee
Crapcarp555 4 months ago
@Crapcarp555 Despite what Joshua did, Neku and Shibuya still stand and Joshua is alone once again in the end. Even if he killed Neku and played him like a harp, Neku ended up with friends, everyone got their second chance (including Rhyme) and he didn't destroy Shibuya.
Joshua had a change of heart and that's what counted to the happy ending we got with this game. Say what you like, but if Joshua was truly heartless he wouldn't have done any of that and he wouldn't be so sad here.
Xackadee 4 months ago
@Xackadee i actually think he is sad because he wants to be with them...
Firegodot 4 months ago
@Firegodot Yeah, I agree. I feel sorry for Joshua.
Xackadee 4 months ago
@Xackadee
Crapcarp555 4 months ago
@Crapcarp555 The reason Joshua didn't destroy Shibuya was because if Neku (The worst in Shibuya) could change then maybe Shibuya could as well. It says so in the secret reports. None of your reasons (with the exception of 4 and possibly 1) really make sense as to Joshua's decision. It all came down to Neku in the end. You raise a very good point, but the bond Neku forged with Joshua really handed down his decision.
Xackadee 4 months ago
@Xackadee
Crapcarp555 4 months ago
@Crapcarp555 OK, jeez. I made a mistake, sorry. But even if it's not in the secret reports, what evidence is there against that theory? It may still be accurate.
Anyway, can we now agree that Joshua, while snobby and rude at times, isn't a bad person and does care about Neku to some degree? Why did he let Neku live after all? He's a nice guy at heart.
Xackadee 4 months ago
@Xackadee
(con't)...So Joshua didn't destroy Shibuya because he felt a little love, he didn't do it because he saw how people react under immense pressure. It restored his faith in Shibuya, therefore, he didn't need to destroy it.
