  • The highhat work on this album is syncopated sizzle--polyrhythmic sickness.

  • before the virus kru started experimenting the soon-to-rule neurofunk sound, there was this miles sound, so far far far ahead of his time :-))) no wonder the critics couldn´t understand it, who more backward people than them!!!

  • @MarkusAudio Amazing, isn't it. I don't even consider the fuckers anymore. If it sounds good to you, it is good.

  • ... is One.

  • This is the Miles best album! Totally avantgarde! This stuff blows my head off! I don't even have to smoke anything! You just listen to some "avantgarde" wannabes and they are miles away from this! And the real avantgarde know this album; just listen to Jonh Zorn and Amon Tobin and you will find the thread!

  • @MrFpenteado All I could offer would be I don't know of ANY avantgarding who could grasp or own the idea of rhythm being such an integral part. Miles made it HIS OWN>>>and NO ONE elses !!!

  • great stuff to hear stoned

  • when i reed what critics think about this music and this period of miles production i allways think that those idiots should find a real work... probabily all them wanted to be a musician but they can't play even in playback!! all they can do is say bullshit...

  • @macix90

    Haha so true

  • anyone who knows which other Miles albums have this experimental early fusion type sound, PLEASE let me know...Thanks!!!

  • try big fun, live evil, and get up with it

  • thanks a mil for the indications!

  • The foundation is BITCHES BREW. PerryCox's suggestions above are spot on...get them quickly. My other suggestion is SOUNDTRACK TO JACK JOHNSON. While were talking about the groove (lets bury the "fusion" label) kudos to the timekeeper, Mr. Michael Henderson, Bass Guitar. I daresay if not for him, Miles ....who knows what Miles would have done. He obviously picked Michael for THE reason. Same goes for PETE COSEY, guitarist on much of this work. Check him out on youtube. You wont be disaptd.

  • i don't think it's as abstract as on the corner, but "bitches brew" is pretty psychedelic in its approach.

  • @ambientgreg

    Dark Magus !!

  • yeah no shit lol. thanx, finally! tony williams beyond games, there comes a time! come on someone!

  • great stuff

saw it performed last night at the River to River festival

    great stuff

  • This album is so unique. I never get tired of listening to it.

nothing else sounds quite like it. And it was so put down

when it came out. It is an amazing work of art. And I would say,

    a master piece.

  • @quazichimp Agreed Mr. Chimp!!!

  • Masterpiece album !
