@masterlee123 when lee Iaccoca took over Chrysler in 1979, he had, an idea about the "mini van". Ford developed a concept "mini"truck/van in the early 70's. he put it to work later
The 80's were a great time for foreign cars, esp japanese cars, here in the U.S. They were built much better, gave better gas mileage, and were cheaper. They earned a great reputation in the 80's. But now the 80's are gone, and living off that reputation isn't enough.
My '73 Dodge Dart Sport has just over 200k miles. I prefer to buy American.
damn..what happened with modern american vehicles....this video demonstrate how shoul look like real american cars...respect from Russian to classic american auto industry products (1903-1992)
Why is that every one of these cars these days has to be driven by an 85-year old who insists upon parallel parking ina tight spot right in front of me when I'm in a rush.
they showed a few great cars in there mostly all of them except the colt had the slant 6 they should of had the dodge omni and Plymouth horizon in there to since they came out in 1978
Nice to see an ad from the New England Dodge Dealers, considering that's where I live, and probably always will. I remember June, 1983, about two or three days before 2nd grade let out when we picked up our new Aries at Deering-Cote in Marlborough, Ma. Still the absolute best car I think we ever had in the family.
Yesterday, April 30 of 2009; Chrysler went on bankruptcy. Lets help Chrysler Corporation buying their cars instead of all that asian crap that is now running on our highways.
ahh dont listen to that ding dong fella or w/e his name is, bargster and hemidart have the right idea, as it is boys he prolly drives a honda or somethin, no respect for real american vehicles
this is a loser 3rd rate company. i can understand why, for reasons of nostagia, they don't want to see chrysler go bankrupt. everything they make today, besides the Ram pickup, is underdeveloped, crude, noisy and unreliable. do some reading, it's not like i'm the only person saying this. their vehicles are simply no longer competitive in todays marketplace. plus, they have no money. they are the AMC of this decade. good riddance!
I think GM is in worse shape. Mopar has a new engine out that is replacing 7 current engines that are in use. Its a 3.6L v-6 that gets better fuel efficency and puts out 280 HP. Its first going in the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and then others. This will help alleviate alot of financial stress and put them in a better economic position.
people are not looking for new SUV's. chrysler is paying it's staff via government funds; they don't have enough to even make payroll. a new engine to put in age old designs is not a solution. they have until the end of the month to pull something together for the Obama administration. it's hard to see it happening.
it's not "all new." they have no money to come up with new designs. it's a rehashed version of the current vehicle. who cares anyway, they'll be bankrupt in a couple of weeks, and they have nobody to blame but themselves. they've been serving up unreliable crap for 20 years. ( i know, i worked in one of their service departments.) they way they have treated consumers has pushed immesurable numbers of people to honda and toyota. they deserve to die, the sooner the better.
somewhat you are full of shit. You are not stating a fact you are saying crap and disuising it as fact. Fuck honda Fuck Toyota and most of all fuck you. Give me a volare any day.
All reading consumer reports and its il is fill with your head with predjudice own one. The owners of modern dodges that i know seem pretty content with them. I want a challenger.
MOPAR is the Only way to go. I've had over 80 cars in my 18 years of driving and 85% of them were MOPARS. I currently have a 1974 Chrysler Newport that is 98% Original including the paint and interior. Interior is mint. A/C Blows Ice Cold. She has 76,000 miles. NO rust anywhere. Back in the mid 90's I have Three Dodge Magnums. They were awesome cars.
Bullshit dodge keeps the junk man busy what a load i have a 1979 Dodge Aspen 2 door the car has 267,000 miles and the engine still runs good the only things ive replaced are the carb, water pump, alternator and starter its got a 318 ya it uses a quart of oil every 1500 miles but hey its got 267,000 miles thats damn good and with the overdrive trans it gets 31 mpg on the highway! and im gonna give the motor a rebuild anyway the bodys in good enough shape Mopar or no car
we had a 1977 aspen with the slant 6 real dependable car,my dad had a 1960 plymouth with a slant 6, my aunt sold it had close to 200,000 said it still ran damn good
Imagine a new Dodge of those years with a slant6 in it.I would buy one right now if i could love Dodges allways!!
