  • Imagine a new Dodge of those years with a slant6 in it.I would buy one right now if i could love Dodges allways!!

  • ugly car

  • yet another gospel song selling cars.

  • Dodge sucks. End of story.

  • @catalina31768 sucks. End of story.

  • I think this is about the time Dodge starting going downhill...

  • it's amazing how dodge went from this to comparing there cars to ufo's and telling car magazines to suck it.

  • @jude109 hahaha

  • How did the Dodge Magnum go from a Cordoba to a Stationwagon. LAMO

  • "It's sleek, it's long. It's short it's strong." Should that have been in the song?

  • I like that cute girl at 0:37...Nowadays a girl like her would buy a crappy Honda...I miss the 'old days!'

  • !n 1978 the Chrysler minivan were still being develop.

  • @masterlee123 when lee Iaccoca took over Chrysler in 1979, he had, an idea about the "mini van". Ford developed a concept "mini"truck/van in the early 70's. he put it to work later

  • "That's my Dodge." That's what I used to say to the tow truck driver. Great commercial and jingle!

  • The 80's were a great time for foreign cars, esp japanese cars, here in the U.S. They were built much better, gave better gas mileage, and were cheaper. They earned a great reputation in the 80's. But now the 80's are gone, and living off that reputation isn't enough.

My '73 Dodge Dart Sport has just over 200k miles. I prefer to buy American.

  • 0:25...My neighbors had one EXACTLY LIKE THIS! Beautiful car

  • These look like cool cars to me.

  • damn..what happened with modern american vehicles....this video demonstrate how shoul look like real american cars...respect from Russian to classic american auto industry products (1903-1992)

  • 79 Dodge Magnum , that's my Dodge !

  • Yikes!

  • Cutie pie at 0:08!! I didn't know you could get t-tops in an Aspen.Cool!!

  • Why is that every one of these cars these days has to be driven by an 85-year old who insists upon parallel parking ina tight spot right in front of me when I'm in a rush.

  • they showed a few great cars in there mostly all of them except the colt had the slant 6 they should of had the dodge omni and Plymouth horizon in there to since they came out in 1978

  • @jakesaintsrow123 Especially considering the Omni and Horizon were largely the biggest successes during that dark period for Chrysler.

  • At 0:13, did they sing "It's a digital max?"

  • At0:13,They sang "It`s a Diplomat."

Diplomt was Dodge`s Mid-size Sedan and Coupe, also Statonwagon.

    Production 1977~1979[1st gen],1980~1989[2nd gen]

    Diplomat also called "Dodge Dart[Mexico]","Dodge Coronet[Only Colombia]","Plymouth Caravelle"[Only Canada].

    Predecessor is Mid-size Dodge Monaco.

    Successor is Dodge Monaco.

  • @takutaq

The Dodge Diplomat was also sold in Canada

  • If only I could get now a good Dodge Aspen, like that in this advertisement !!

En México los pránganas dicen : Me voy en mi Dodge .... patas !!

  • Nice to see an ad from the New England Dodge Dealers, considering that's where I live, and probably always will. I remember June, 1983, about two or three days before 2nd grade let out when we picked up our new Aries at Deering-Cote in Marlborough, Ma. Still the absolute best car I think we ever had in the family.

  • Yesterday, April 30 of 2009; Chrysler went on bankruptcy. Lets help Chrysler Corporation buying their cars instead of all that asian crap that is now running on our highways.

  • AMEN BROTHER!!!!!!1!!!one!!!!

  • I totally agree!!!! I'm just about ready to get rid of my '92 Mazda Pick-Up and get a newish Grand Cherokee

  • and drive over all the annoying ricers with a D-8H 46A

  • ahh dont listen to that ding dong fella or w/e his name is, bargster and hemidart have the right idea, as it is boys he prolly drives a honda or somethin, no respect for real american vehicles

  • Wasn't the Aspen from Chrysler up against the olds omega, buick skylark, chevy nova?

  • yes then later the 78 malibu and its ilk. They were better than the Nova but not the malibu.

  • I see, then the Diplomat took its place after they stopped making the Aspen.

  • I can't wait to see this horrible car company go bankrupt

  • Bite your tongue you friggin potlicker!!

  • this is a loser 3rd rate company. i can understand why, for reasons of nostagia, they don't want to see chrysler go bankrupt. everything they make today, besides the Ram pickup, is underdeveloped, crude, noisy and unreliable. do some reading, it's not like i'm the only person saying this. their vehicles are simply no longer competitive in todays marketplace. plus, they have no money. they are the AMC of this decade. good riddance!

  • I think GM is in worse shape. Mopar has a new engine out that is replacing 7 current engines that are in use. Its a 3.6L v-6 that gets better fuel efficency and puts out 280 HP. Its first going in the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and then others. This will help alleviate alot of financial stress and put them in a better economic position.

  • people are not looking for new SUV's. chrysler is paying it's staff via government funds; they don't have enough to even make payroll. a new engine to put in age old designs is not a solution. they have until the end of the month to pull something together for the Obama administration. it's hard to see it happening.

  • how is a new grand cherokee an old design its a whole new vehicle.

  • it's not "all new." they have no money to come up with new designs. it's a rehashed version of the current vehicle. who cares anyway, they'll be bankrupt in a couple of weeks, and they have nobody to blame but themselves. they've been serving up unreliable crap for 20 years. ( i know, i worked in one of their service departments.) they way they have treated consumers has pushed immesurable numbers of people to honda and toyota. they deserve to die, the sooner the better.

  • somewhat you are full of shit. You are not stating a fact you are saying crap and disuising it as fact. Fuck honda Fuck Toyota and most of all fuck you. Give me a volare any day.

  • Especially a Volare with the slant-six engine.

  • All reading consumer reports and its il is fill with your head with predjudice own one. The owners of modern dodges that i know seem pretty content with them. I want a challenger.

  • They revamped the Aspen as an SUV???

  • long live dodge and the chrysler corp. as a whole

  • "...Its sporty its great for play...In the backseat..."

  • Dodges rock! I love my Magnum RT Hemi and my Hemi Ram. Solid well made vehicles. Combined 260,000 trouble free miles.

  • Hey, I didn't know their vans were called the "More-Than-That." See 0:17

  • Nice one.

In truth, they were called Sportsman (with windows) or Tradesman (without windows). Not shown here is the awesome limited-edition Street Van.

  • What a horrible jingle

  • my grandmother drove the 78 aspen, lol!

  • let's go see Halloween in that thing tonight!

  • MOPAR is the Only way to go. I've had over 80 cars in my 18 years of driving and 85% of them were MOPARS. I currently have a 1974 Chrysler Newport that is 98% Original including the paint and interior. Interior is mint. A/C Blows Ice Cold. She has 76,000 miles. NO rust anywhere. Back in the mid 90's I have Three Dodge Magnums. They were awesome cars.

  • The funny thing is the cars they build today are bigger loads of junk then they were 25 years ago

  • Based on what? Your opinion?

    I don't even own a Chrysler product, but that's a ludicrous statement.

  • Bullshit dodge keeps the junk man busy what a load i have a 1979 Dodge Aspen 2 door the car has 267,000 miles and the engine still runs good the only things ive replaced are the carb, water pump, alternator and starter its got a 318 ya it uses a quart of oil every 1500 miles but hey its got 267,000 miles thats damn good and with the overdrive trans it gets 31 mpg on the highway! and im gonna give the motor a rebuild anyway the bodys in good enough shape Mopar or no car

  • we had a 1977 aspen with the slant 6 real dependable car,my dad had a 1960 plymouth with a slant 6, my aunt sold it had close to 200,000 said it still ran damn good

  • Dodge kept the junk man busy

  • cop-thumbs up then slaps car, LMAO !!!

  • quite possibly the WORST advert I've ever seen

  • LOL, I didn't know the vans in '78 were called the "Dodge More-Than-That!"

  • man, I want to go cruising in a Dodge More-Than-That!

  • new england?

    where is at?

  • North-east region of the United States.

  • what were the mpg on these huge cars? none of those cars have timeless styling, cause if they did, they would look good 30 yrs later.

  • we had a 1978 dodge magnum with a 360 lean-burn system, automatic with overdrive and it got 25 mpg

  • was that Cheryl Ladd?

  • No, she was already doing Charlie's Angels

  • Sporty sedan Aspen???

  • How come the Dodge Omni is not in this commercial? I thought the Omni was introduced in 1978.

  • I'm surprised its not, considering a few of their rebadged Mitsubishis are...

  • The Dodge Omni was launched in 1978, but Chrysler focused the advertising spotlight on the début of the (counter series) Plymouth Horizon.

  • I thought those cars were ugly then. I still do. I've got an '05 Magnum though, it's awesome.

  • That's why Chrysler went BK

  • a 78 magnum is way better looking than that thing they make now.

  • Was that the Dodge version of the Chrysler Cordoba?

  • It was the Dodge Magnum a great car

  • And Dodge Mirada 1980-1983

  • Theres a 79 Magnum.... Nice

    i own a 78... beautiful car
