@GizmoCh5 I don't know that it would have made my own "Top 10 Horror," but I've come to appreciate it more than I did on first viewing in subsequent years. You neglected to add your own Top 10, though. What are your choices? Thanx for watching :)
@kappinn991 Nice list! Incredible when you think about it, but every movie on that list has been remade (at least once!) except for "An American Werewolf in London."
@kappinn991 That exact same question plagued me as I shot the video :) I definitely think that would have made my own list....of 10, I think. Here each fellow was only picking five, and I wonder if I'd have been able to stack it up that high. Maybe. A great movie. Thanx for watching & making an eloquent case for the Kubrick classic! :)
@24SparrowJack I prefer to believe so myself, since I always like to see my zombies lumbering slowly along in the "White Zombie" and Romero traditions...but quite a few do put the Boyle pic in the "zombie" genre. Thanks 4 watching & commenting :)
@oopirates96 Yea, Evil Dead is excellent! Have been a huge fan since 1st seeing it on VHS. LOVED Evil Dead 2 in theater. Less thrilled w/Army of Darkness. But agreed, the original is Groovy. Thanks for adding to our list!
@Imcrazybored And it's one of those movies where the music really makes a difference. One of the creepiest scores ever composed. Thanks 4 watching & writing in :) Happy Halloween!
@MoviesUnlimitedInc true true thanx :) ive got a question, do you mby have a good recommanded of the scariest horror film i might not hve seen ? :) as i have seen hundreds and need new ideas 4 halloween :) happy halloween m8 :P
@Citrus3000 That always makes my list of the Top 10 (assuming you are referring to the original). Amazing how it and Psycho are based on the same wretched true story & both have their unique identities & both are unforgettable classics. And both, yes, still creepy as all get-out. Thanks 4 watching & commenting!
@nickdr5672 Hmmm...I (our video producer) kinda remember that one being ok. My favorite Stephen King hotel room number, however, is Room 237 (at the Overlook, of course): "Ain't nothin' in Room 237!" Thanks for watching & adding to our ever-growing list! :)
@Nijikuma An excellent list, can't argue with those! Oh wait, yes I can :)
I (video producer) love The Exorcist too, but I much prefer the original version to The Version (I Wish!) I'd Never Seen. Thanks for watching & commenting :)
I like this guy he loves silence of the lambs you get loads of dickheads who have never seen a film as good as that and fucking love the shit that they watch.SILENCE OF THE LAMBS FTW!!!
My favorites go "Exorcist" (also original, "Shining", "The Omen" (the original, not the 2006 remake), "In the Mouth of Madness" (the beginning was the best, then it got weird), "Psycho", "The Haunting" (the one mentioned in the video, and a bunch of others.
@uglyfudge Original Shining is definitely the Best Shining! Nice list. Many people talk up In the Mouth of Madness, a Carpenter flick I (Irv's cameraman) have never caught up with. Thanks for writing in!
@MrGABESYH There does seem to be a little debate going around as to whether or not 28 Days Later constitutes an "official" zombie movie. We can definitely agree it's nice to see the Brits excelling at horror :) Thanks for watching!
@TheWiseman03 my dad said after my grandma saw psycho she didnt shower for like 2 weeks or somthing because she though she was going to get killed......Hitchcock has some gnarly movies
The Exorcist is the most frightening film ever made. I include the original Dawn of the Dead in the top five (even higher on the list than the original Night of the Living Dead). It's shocking how Dawn is often forgotten. It was not only utterly terrifying but depicted the true subtext of the zombie genre through the consumerism metaphor.
@txmoney Thanks for checking us out & commenting! I (speaking as the man behind the camera) can watch "Dawn" over and over and over again & it feels fresh every time. People I think are less divided over Dawn than The Exorcist because of the humorous elements to Dawn. W/Exorcist, it would seem, you're scared or you're not; with Dawn, you can always appreciate the satire cause the movie's not "just" out to scare you. BTW I think I'd agree w/you about Exorcist. :)
@MoviesUnlimitedInc I agree with you. I wonder how many of those that did NOT find The Exorcist frightening would feel the same if they had watched it when it originally appeared on the big screen. Time has a way of diminishing the sheer terror the audiences experienced during the original theatrical release. Frankenstein had audiences fainting in the aisles. People became violently ill in the theater while viewing the Exorcist. When has a film since Jaws affected people like that?
@txmoney When I saw Exorcist reissued some years ago, there was much, much laughter in the audience. Amazing (& kinda sad) to see how its power to terrify had diminished (at least with that crowd), but there you go. I remember Blair Witch having a big (if also much disputed) impact. I just actually got the Blu ray of Blair Witch and will be interested to see if it still "works" (I liked it when I saw it in the theater, but wonder if it has any lasting power).
@RodriguezFan26 Can't argue with those picks! Well, maybe one. I must say (as the man behind the camera) I was less enamored of the re-cut Exorcist than the original cut. I thought it was perfect the way it was. I was with some other fans who called it the Version I Wish I'd Never Seen! :) Meanwhile, I'm also a fan of Friedkin's underrated "Bug"...and am dying of curiosity to see what has everyone so angry w/his French Connection re-colorization. Thanks for watching!
@ekimusman2 Thanks! If you are a horror fan, you will also want to check out "Ghouly" Irv's "MovieFrightFare" vids, seen here on our YouTube channel & on our page at Famous Monsters of Filmland. Irv's regular reviews & articles you can find on the MovieFanFare blog. Thanks for watching :)
@theWORLDisSPIKE I guess you can say the movies are thinly connected (tho I confess, as the man behind the camera, I've never seen AVP nor read the comic) -- Bishop (Lance Henriksen) is in both Aliens and AVP. Thanks for watching & writing in! :)
basically they took the aliens from Alien and the aliens from Predator and made them competing races, then they a few humans in the middle of it all.
If you watch predator 2 you can even seen a "Alien" skull trophy on the ship at the end. However as the movies goes, Alien and Predator have nothing in common except the Alien V's Predator movies.
@theWORLDisSPIKE Oh my god. So it has begun. I guess you are somewhat younger? Alien, Aliens (Alien 2), Alien3 and Alien Ressurection are the REAL Alien movies. Predator and Predator 2 (and the new Predators movie maybe?) are the REAL Predator movies.
AvP are horrible. Someone thought it would be "cool" to make movies of a comic based on the above mentioned movies.

@SimpsonsGirl426 Whooooaaa! Jaws, "not scary"? Well, what can you say? One generation's ultimate fear gets laughs in the next, maybe? After I saw it, I was afraid to go in the POOL, forget about the ocean! There's that famous story about the lady calling James Whale in 1931 to tell him she lost sleep over "Frankenstein"...I imagine very few people get too scared by the Karloff classic today. Thanks for watching!
