Sean Casey produced Forces of Nature and his next one will be Tornado Alley.

I absolutely love Storm Chasers. I live vicariously through the TIV crew in their adventures. Got to hand it to Sean, he designed a mobile film studio and with no previous meteorological education gets his tornado shots.

I would love to see him chasing again next year but now since he got his direct tornado hit, who know?

Re: AirRaider56... Sean Casey is NOT a loser... Timmer could film tornadoes from a distance and it was fine, then he built the red shoe (likely inspired by the TIV) and all he had to do was drive into it. Casey needed to be able to position himself exactly and drop the plates and stay open long enough to get his film in the air and catch the shot. At least we can say the shot is in and the rivalry with Timmer and Casey will settle down. I will happily watch whoever is chasing, but I love Casey.

Gotta say though, Reed may have gotten more intercepts, but he's a little too cocky. He needs to learn that the Dominator is no TIV. If he's not careful, he could end up seriously injured or worse by driving into or in front of a violent tornado. He got lucky the Nebraska tornado was just forming when he was caught in it.

It's expensive because it's an IMAX camera. Which seems cheap to me because a 35mm Arri is even more.  But wow i cannot wait to see this footage. I'm so glad he finally got that shot. I love the show and hate it how Reed gets such great intercepts all the time and Sean gets screwed. He finally got it :D

A matter of resolution, frame-rate, and the matter of REAL FILM, not digital representation. You gotta remember, this film will be used to project on to screens 40 or 50 feet wide in some places, with no resolution loss or pixelation. Digital HD handi-cams just don't have that capability, hence the cheap price tag.
