An absolute top-notch song. I cannot even begin to put down the memories associated with this ONE song! It was one of the "extra good times" in my life. Not the only time, but definitely one of them! This sounds so good - you have no idea. Thank you so much for memories of being around 15/16 years old! To the memory of all the sweet Southern boys that passed through my life - I remember every, single one of you and I say Thank You for wonderful, youthful memories.
@ryantunks Don't think too many looked at the lyrics...more interested in the beat...and the dance crowd....not everyone has their mind in the gutter.
Excellent try! Louie,Louie is #1. Woolly Bully-#2, Double Shot-#3, Land Of 1000 Dances (headhunters)-#4, Shout-#5. That's my list having been there in the 60's for all of them.
I hope everyone has as much fun in life as I did in the 60's. Don't dwell there but certainly recall the good times often. YouTube has been a great resource in helping go back!!
@beegeelovessurf Totally agree! I was there in the 60's as well. Those tunes were staples at The Citadel's Senior Class Parties out at Folly Beach. What memories!
I found out from a classmate that the lead singer lives down the street from her in Greenwood, SC. I really enjoy singing along to this song. One of the better sign along songs requested that my partner and I played at our DJ gigs.
They don't make music like this anymore and for good reason. The cheesy organ, out of sync drumming, vocals that make rap sound musical, the screams that belong in Stephen King film, lyrics that would make Bob Dylan blush. Now that I think of it really liked this song and still do, gave inspiration to pimple faced geek that lack of musical talent was not roadblock to record charts. Think they are opening act for 1910 Fruitgum Comp at John Deere Dealers convention at Saskatoon, Sask.
Frat boys to the end - they're wearing matching pants! Lord. The Farfisa organ they actually recorded this song with was on loan in the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in Macon a couple of years ago. It may still be there. Definitely worthy of a holy pilgrimage.

Couldn't be many of the originals guys here, they'd be over 60 yrs old now. I still have one of the Farfisa organs like on the song.

There is one original member left...the others are the offspring of the other original members...keeping the great music of their fathers alive
