  • Try Transformers Battle LA and a few mature movies like We Were Soldiers

  • how is Jurassic park not in 1st place?

  • The incredibles... nice!!!

  • I am bit confused for Batman. Which score do you like is it: "Batman Forever" by Elliot Goldenthal or "Batman" & "Batman Returns" by Danny Elfman or "Batman Begins" by Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard?

  • Danny Elfman is amazing!!

  • Comment removed

  • OMG Are you kidding me. Oh wait, sorry I didn't realise this was Marlee Matlin's list of favorite movie scores. God why can't Youtube delete this waste of time

  • You made a few mistakes. First Shrek had two composers Gregson-Williams and Powell. Secondly, Harry Potter had four composers. You let us hear a piece of harry In Winter by patrick Doyle but you dont mention his name, nor Hooper nor Desplat.

  • Nice list, totally agree with 90%..but its Bernard "Hermann" not Bermann

  • No John Powell (Bourne)? No Rob Dugan (Matrix)?

  • I am so glad you used Memoirs of a Geisha., that movie truly has a moving and awesome theme.

  • No gladiator? no godfather? no the good the abd and the ugly? <----YOU HAVE TO WATCH THESE!!!

  • You have excellent taste in music.

  • Wait, "Jurassic Park" was good too. The rest is bad.

  • Er, other than "Jaws" this list kinda blows chowder.

  • #20- Memoirs of a Geisha #13-Harry Potter #9-Jaws #7-Jurassic Park #5-Star Wars(THE BEST MOVIES OF ALL TIMES) Composer:John Williams

Thank all the composers, directors and others, dead or not, always giving us entertainment viewing in our lives ...

I think in general our dear John Williams is making us feel good, scared, sad, happy and others ... John Williams is the man!

  • @CloneJPOGenesis Lord of the rings: howard shore. Howard shore is the man

  • Oh John Williams :)

  • You like Danny Elfman and John Williams a lot, clearly. Well, so do I. :)

  • Good list. Has variety, covers a broad spectrum of influences and styles. If anyone is looking for indie stuff listen to my selections at my AdayahMusicVideo channel

  • Good list, not a great order. But overall nice job.

  • 1.Tron Legacy

    2.Brother Bear

    3.The Cronicles of Narnia

    4.Harry Potter

    5.Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron

    6.Pirates of the Caribbean

    7.Alice in Wonderland

    8.The Lion King

    9.Finding Nemo

  • @Etevaldojr5 What...the........hell?

  • Can anyone tell me the name of the composer or even the movie this song was originally in??? Youtube won't let me put in the weblink to the youtube video, but if you seach "Go by Jackie Pullinger" <- it's the music playing this background! It's bugging me so much.

I'm not sure if it's James Howard Newton or hans zimmer or who!

  • All are good scores, but im agrees with the number one i love Edward Scissorhands Score!!!!!!

  • Ya for me, my list as far as composers go is Micheal Salvatori & Martin O'Donnel, John Williams, Hans Zimmer, and Danny Elfman (and only during short periods of time)

  • 1. Jaws

    2. Star Wars (original)

    3. Psycho

    4. Indiana Jones

    5. The Godfather

    6. Back to the Future

    7. E.T

    8. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

    9. Stripes

    10. 2001: A Space Odyssey

  • Revenge of the Jedi 5:05?

  • Danny Elfman and John Williams own more than half of this list :p

  • hulk had a nice theme too

  • Danny Elfman and John Williams = The best.

  • You like very much Johnny Depp. Three of his films out of twenty. :P

  • I love the Jurassic park one

  • I love the psycho and geisha theme for some strange reason

  • Danny Elfman is and always will be my favourite composer. When you listen to his compositions, you always know it's him.

  • @TheMeezProductions

that's SO true. i just saw the live-action Charlotte's Web a few months ago. some of the score reminded me a little of Edward Scissorhands (one of my favorite scores ever). so i made sure to pay attention to the opening credits when i watched with commentary, and sure enough...

  • The thing about Harry Potter is that depending on which one, the film score is by either John Williams or a different guy that I can't remember the name of. I thought it was all by John Williams, but when I was listening on Pandora Harry Potter popped up it said somebody else for the second one, but the first one said John Williams.

  • jurassic park should have been #1

  • the twilight saga actually has a really good score

  • Guess what - there's world before your small minded experiences.

have you ever heard of Max Steiner, of Miklos Rosza, of Nino Rota to mentione only a few.

you know nothing of film or film scores.

  • Guess what - there's world before you small minded experiences.

have you ever heard of Max Steiner, of Miklos Rosza, of Nino Rota to mentione only a few.

you know nothing of film or film scores.

  • Nightmare before Christmas is epic

  • Jurassic Park is by far the best

Missed out The Great Escape - thatsan incredible tune

  • INCREDIBLES!!

  • Wait, it says Batman Forever, but plays Batman Returns O.o UGH yes, X-Men DID have one of the best soundtracks ever. You're missing Last of the Mohicans though lol, it's like essential to any list this like this XD

  • @onexslickxtrick actually, the poster is Batman Returns and the music is from Batman (1989)

  • @aMgVbros4aetas The video says Batman Forever (5:25)

  • Hell yeah South Park XD

  • we have an Elfman fan on our hands :)

  • aw the hulk just gives me shivers...like a real build of power...oh yes you seem to have left out a number of great soundtracks: robocop, the boondock saints, braveheart (brilliant), transformers(so good it was used in 2movies), the matrix, day after tomorrow, the crow, THE DARK KNIGHT, the one, drunken master, the godfather, lady in the water, signs...geez many others...i need to make my own favourites list...

  • thumbs up if the second one made u jump

  • Although they have uniquely different styles, I would love to see one movie scored jointly by Elfman and Williams just to see what it would produce.

  • These soundtracks really take you back...Oh man!!! XD I feel all nostalgic....especially hearing Jurassic park and beetlejuice lol

  • have you heard the 1976 omen score? its really good.

  • Gattaca and Edward Scissorhands are two of my top favorites. So is Amelie, though! Now, I don't bicker over petty things like music preference; but i'll fight anyone to the death that doesn't like the amelie score;)

Jurassic Park is great, too. Though i never listen to it. I should, though.

  • Beautiful.. a lot of these are my favrorites too

  • TIM BURTON FOREVER!!!

  • DANNY ELFMAN FOREVER!!!

  • It is stupid! Where are "The Godfather", "Once Apon Time In America", "Adam's Family" ???!!!!

  • someone likes danny elfman

  • Across the Stars is from Episode II, isn't it? And I liked most of what was on your list... A lot of Elfman. Oh and I was happy to see Reqiem at the end there, love it :D

  • Jesus Christ you people need to go back further than 30 years before you really get to the bulk of the greatest music scores. Besides this guy is just listing his favorite songs, big difference. But if you wanna talk about the greatest then you're talking about themes from movies like Godfather, Love Story, Dr. Zhivago, Casablanca, and Gone with the Wind.

These are songs that are ingrained as a part of American culture on a level very little written in the last 30 years can even approach.

  • I agree with half of your songs though a few i don`t like

  • Hmm.... Interesting...

  • Soooooo,,, You like Danny Elfman?

  • I wonder if this guy is by any chance a Tim Burton fan....

  • There are a few in here I remember, but most of them bring back no emotion, aside from Jurassic Park. And Titanic should have undoubtedly been on this list as well.

  • I'd have to agree with #1. but thats because im a danny elfman fan. But... The Incredibles? South Park is a fun score but doesnt deserve to be on here.

  • star wars and lord of the rings had such good music. surpised that matrix and indiana jones didnt get a mention though. and whoa halo 3's score was mentioned, I've always found the music to be so good in halo games

  • @SLASHERHEATH Star Wars and Lord of the rings :D

  • jurassic park fills you with an overwhelming sense of nostalgia

  • psycho makes your skin crawl

  • jurassic park starwars and beetlejuice are the top 3 for me. the rest arent that good

  • JUST ONE THING!!

North by Northwest theme song. Marvelous score

  • oh fuck off and make your own lists assholes.

  • @goreziad lol

no - you fuck off, stop being so angry @ peoples opinions you sour cunt

if they think youre gay or your scores are gay - accept it and move on, wtf is wrong with you you gay bastard !

    lol

gay youtube clip btw - dont make anymore :-)

  • @IneedUnderscores your statement is epic hypocrit-ness. now fuck off youre wasting my time "you gay bastard" insecure of our sexuality are we.

og gå så væk din nar røv.

  • Revenge of the Jedi?! ,:0

  • Indiana Jones?

  • I agree... how on Earth is there no Titanic? Or Pearl Harbor? Or Matrix? Or Gladiator? And I personally think Jurassic Park should be #1, or Star Wars if you're talking about the whole series (though some were better than others). Overall mostly good choices though =)

  • @krmusicbird3 Superman should be there also and the Christmas themed Home Alone.

  • No Titanic, WTF?!?!

  • incredibles has a great soundtrack

  • uhm wtf?

  • i see a lot of tim burton movies :)

  • aww how nice everybody likes jurassic park and WTF star wars?

  • am where brave heart and gladiator dont adree with X-men last stand

  • South fucking Park?!

  • JOHN WILLIAMS IS A MAD GENUIS!!!!!!!!

  • JURASSIC PARK veins

  • You are totally ignoring the very VERY best: James Horner and James Newton Howard!!!!! :)

  • Indiana Jones should have bin on the list :(

  • south park? hehe

  • Any movie is ot great without great musc and sound effects. :)

  • @XoNinetailedFoxoX Network? No Country For Old Men?

  • Some of my faves are Harry Potter,Jurassic Park, memoirs of a geisha and lord of the rings also POTC

  • I don't care what anyone says. jurassic park will always be number one :')

  • No WMG here ? hahah :)

  • no one does it like john williams. his works gives me the good kind of lss.

  • Lose X-men and throw in Schindlers List instead! And what about Indiana Jones and Superman? OK, so I´m a bit of a John williams fan, but Danny Elfman´s Spiderman and Hans Zimmer´s "King of Pride Rock" from the Lion King should be in here too... and possibly James Horners "Heritage of the Wolf" from Spielbergs Balto.

  • where is schindler's list on this?

  • im guessing u like danny elfman ???

  • someone's got a hard-on for elfman

  • I love John Williams just for Jaws and Jurassic Park :D But I love all of these composers. Awesome songs.

  • Can somebody PLEASE tell me the name of the second Corpse Bride song, the one at 4:56

  • Great choices!

    Elfman in da house! >:]

  • beetlejuice? wtf?

  • ahhaha south park :L

  • Comment removed

  • older movie but great... THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY, music composed by ENNIO MERRICONE. check out ecstasy of gold!!!!

  • JOHN WILLIAMS forever!

  • Oh, my bad. But still, it's pretty much a sin to confuse Batman Forever and the original.

  • Batman Forever? Really? Not the original and GOOD Batman by my man Elfman?

  • thumbs up if you whistled with jurassic park

  • @piepotatosandturtle2 fuck yah

  • @piepotatosandturtle, i cried with jurassic park XD! :P

  • @piepotatosandturtle2 I had to hum because I can't whistle.

  • @piepotatosandturtle2 HAHAHA i actually did even tho i tried not to having read your comment brillian

  • And all this time I thought Bernard Hermann that did the music for Psycho and it was Bernard Bermann

  • your description syas : batman forever, yet the theem is from batman 1989, you show pictures of batman begins and batman returns??

  • yes! South Park gets recognized!

  • @phantom12321 why should it be, it's immature drivel for four year olds that think they are smart by watching shows with swearing

  • @euanlovenacho clearly you have not watched the show, or at least not anything beyond the first season. Especially in the last few seasons (2005- present) the show has a razor wit toward all sorts of societal situations, pop culture phenomenon , and human nature in general that shames the Simpsons and most other modern satire. Just because there's some toilet humor and that cursing is shown in a real world sense, doesn't nullify that.

  • @phantom12321 too long, didn't read

but still, i'm betting you were trying to prove me wrong "but it's funny" etc. etc. etc.

if you want funny, watch something with real comedic talent, or at least stop watching a show that sucks out your brains and replaces them with stupid

  • @euanlovenacho glad to know a high-handed self-styled intellectual like yourself, feels reading a small paragraph would be too much mental strain

  • @phantom12321 i said i didn't read it

i could have if i didn't already know that all you would of said was that it is funny, which it isn't

  • @euanlovenacho that's actually NOT what the core of what that paragraph said. Not even expressed. It simply stated that you most likely passed judgement without watching enough to form a reasonable opinion, which now seems pretty consistent with your behaivor here.

  • @phantom12321 ok, I read it,

    razor wit - no

    societal situations - what?

pop culture phenomenon - sort of, if you count insulting every celebrity

and human nature - they don't even understand human nature, the main characters are racist 3 year olds

  • @euanlovenacho i agree with you

  • @phantom12321 and youre an idiot

  • Like Danny Elfman much? :P

  • stupid hairy poter

  • Mission Impossible and Rocky

  • the 2003 hulk soundtrack was good but the movie was crap lol

  • U forgot one! James Bond! That's my favorite!

  • safe to say that you like elfman and williams a lot lol

  • shrek!? really? and SOUTH PARK? incomparable when you look at hans zimmer and john williams.

  • @madteacups shrek was composed by Harry Gregson Williams and previously by John Powell

  • i don't understand why you've chosen shrek, the red dragon, hulk, pirates of the carribean 2 (why the 2nd part) and x-men. AND WHY HAVE YOU JUST STAR WARS I-III. IV is best.

    southpark is shit.

    except this the video's good

  • noo batman from 1989 :((

  • I sense WMG..

  • i know that track is off of Lord of the rings, but what is the name of that specific Film score? please?

  • South Park doesn't even deserve to be ranked among John William's music.

  • llol south park

  • Hey, great video. I'm a fan of most the songs you listed, plus many more.

My favourites are James Horner- Legends of the fall, Thomas Newman- Meet Joe Black and Niklas Desplat- Benjamin Button, but I really have loads more favourites, John Ottman- Superman Returns is fantastic too.

  • one word: awesome!

  • And Back To The Future?

  • are you mad what a stupid list of all the wrong ones

  • @rodzt37 what is your list then?

  • John Williams is genius!

  • star wars is number one forever. john williams !

  • Clint Mansell - Lux Aeterna (Requiem for a Dream)

Hans Zimmer - Navy Seals Theme (The Rock)

    Klaus Badelt - He's a pirate (PotC)

What about that? I missed it :(

  • Where is Ennio Morricone

  • not...

  • why does john williams rock out harder than any other mortal man?

  • @LarryBogary The Force is strong with him, always.

  • Wow this list is horrible....this doesnt even include some of the hits even before 2000.

  • star wars number 1

  • John Williams is the modern day Beethoven

  • @revton3197

     *smack*

  • could not belive the realms of reality when i had the south prak movie on PPV and it was a musical AND THE BEST MUSICAL TO EVER EXSIST IT WAS

  • South Park? No way.

  • Some very poor scores here

  • John Williams > Danny Elfman times 5,000. That is all.

  • The incredible's first picture just literly copied shrek's first picture at 0.47 and 1.40!

  • @TheDollSoho I think we can all agree that there are a great number of movie posters that include the characters running toward the viewer. Some they are running from something (in this case, an explosion), some they are running towards something (could be anything as it isn't depicted on the poster itself).

  • ok your a burrton head.lol love those but not to have any rocky movie not to mention drago's theme is crazy

  • @karceno2 from dragonheart? HELL YEAH!!!!

  • I am the next John Williams! Check out my YouTube site!

  • BEETLE JUICE IS EPIC

  • Go The Distance - Hercules

Best musical score ever in my opinion.

  • Across the stars in in Star Wars I, not in II.

  • only jp rocks, rest sucks like hell

  • jurassic park is the best

  • i would have definitely added the score of braveheart...and southpark is funny, but it isnt worht being in this list...just my opinio though
