I'm assuming Alexander Brandon made this one (the regular non-action part anyways), since he made the Hell theme for Jazz Jackrabbit 2 and they sound very similar. It made returning to NYC under martial law even more fun.

I lost this music with goty too but shifter mod restores it - I love this level there are 6 riot cops and 5 of them spawn 2 Unatco troopers when shot - if you stay on the roof you can see the troopers spawning - 16 to kill in all + 1 bot, 2 inside the hotel, Joe Greene then after Dowd convo 10 mj12 troopers to kill - quite a blood fest! If you stay by the barrel where you talk to dowd the troopers will shoot him

Does anyone know of a possible fix to get this song to play on DX:GOTY?

This song was so distinctive during my first run of DX (the non-GOTY one) and I was so disappointed I wasn't able to hear it in GOTY.

@daeds It is in the GOTY edition. It's played much later in the game, when there's security bots and the MJ12 on the streets of Hells kitchen.

You know what's disappointing? I have the GOTY version of this on Steam and the damn thing won't play this song when you return to New York...no ambience, action, conversation OR death music of this area. I hear it's a common glitch. Excuse me while I go cry somewhere.

Mabye these game developers have been trying to prepare us for the possibility, who knows?

Indeed, thats because the same guy worked on the unreal music as he did the deus ex music.

Only reason I know that was I was searching for the facing worlds music, ( forgone destruction ) and the info had a lil bio on the music producer. Both awsum games! Love both of the musics from each. Go search forgone destruction here in youtube to hear the composers other works :)

No, dude. I have the same problem as you. Some people reported not hearing the music that plays in NYC when you go to meet stanton downd, its some type of error or glitch in the game, and i can definitely hear the ps2 version last time i checked. im trying to fix it but all i hear is the street sound effects and i turned the music volume all the way up. so its definitely a lost audio file or something. plus, i have the game of the year edition with added soundtrack. cuberpunk music is so sweet.

This song occurs when you have to find Stanton Dowd, not when you are going to battery park. In the earlier versions, this song worked, I remember. But in the game of the year edition, for some reason there is a glitch preventing you from hearing it.

I own both versions, base and goty editions. Weird, must be a version issue.

I recently figured out that you can fix this glitch using the SDK. You just have to assign the music to the right map and it should be fine.
