I can actually do a Speed Run of this game. I start collecting one or two parts (if lucky) a day and end up getting a maximum of maybe 3 or 4 parts a day. And the quickest I beat the game was 20 days.

Yes, my time management was not good my first time through, but my second run through the game got me to the last level by Day 27. Which you always want to get there no later than Day 28, because it generally takes 3 days to get the part (1: Solve the puzzle. 2: Defeat the boss. 3: Get the part.).

My first playthrough I was on my last day with 24 or so parts. I had no clue about the big boss in the third area, and was too scared to fight most of the water-based enemies. So I ended missing many, many parts.

Heck, I could never even figure out how to beat this area's boss, so that part took many, MANY Pikmin deaths to get.

I don't have this game or know the story of it, but can someone tell me why Pikmins die out at night (off course the answer is obvious...)?

It's not that they die due to the night sky. They die because during the night, all the monsters come out and completely swarm anything and everything, and the Pikmin can't fend for themselves.

Not in this one. In pikmin two, they exchange bomb-rock holding (the rocks become bigger) for an immunization to electricity.

i do belive that if you return the same color pellet to the right onion you get bonus pikmin its like that in pikmin 2 so try it

i was thinking about getting pikmin again i traded it in after went past the 30 day time limit and still didn't get enough parts to win after that i managed to find a copy of pikmin 2 if you see a copy of pikmin 1 or 2 especially p2 GET IT THEY'RE REALLY HARD TO FIND and i like it but i like the ereas from p1 but if i get it i would be stuck playing on day 30 again and again and i am kinda far from having enough parts and i would have to watch the cinematic every time because you can't skip it

Why not erease your old save game and start again? No-one can complete the game the 1st time they play it (without a walkthrough) because its a game where you discover (sort of) and if you screw up big enough one day, it effects the next day and the next. It took me 3 plays to complete it. The first time I played it I screwed up on the 2nd day cos I wanted to know if the pikmin could swim and got them all in the water and killed them all LOL.

I, for one, actually did beat it on my first playthrough, so it is possible.

Granted, I had a whole buttload of Pikmin deaths by the end of it, since - like you said - the game is all about discovery and learning as you go... and I came to learn just how much stuff can kill each type of Pikmin.

I've currently got a whole playthrough of me beating it without losing a single Pikmin, though. I'll be uploading the series at some point. Bulblax didn't stand a chance!!

Actually, you don't need to put the yellow pikmin into the onion on the second day, you can just keep them with you like the red ones. Even if their onion is not at the landing site, they will walk all the way back to it by sundown, and, amazingly enough, make it there all by themselves without getting eaten by any enemies.

Thats what I always thought, but in my last playthrough (before I did the LP), it didn't work and I lost a huge chunk of my Pikmin population, but Ill take your word for it. :P
