  • why would you cut grass so low? wouldnt it just kill it? thanks.

  • Does anybody know where I can get a users manual for this mower? I also need grass catcher bin. If anyone knows where I can get one, let me know.

  • Good choice of engine but I'm not seeing the point of a reel mower if there isn't a rear roller for lawn stripes?

  • Since we cut the grass so short, we can't stripe it. My other Tru-Cut reel mower has a front striping kit.

  • @Zaxis450lc in the UK we get mowers primarily from two companies, Atco and Ransomes. The cutting cylinder will cut to the same height and even lower on this mower but has rollers which can produce stripes when cutting at a higher setting.

  • sweet mower! never herd of one before! looks SO nice their!

  • Beauty! We're thinking about purchasing a pto driven reel mower for a small tractor and mounting on a briggs that we've had around. After losing the 3 point hitch and adding a 2" coupler I could finally mow lawns with my ATV.

  • Lol, get some turf tires for it! Don't let it tear up the lawn! I've got knobby tires on mine, and they're somewhat gentle on the grass. I'd go with a Honda GX series engines instead of the Briggs, though.

  • Already have some Carlisle "Turf Tamers" in the garage ready for this summer's work, but I don't want to put them on yet as I have a trash pump lashed to the back of the ATV and I've been going through a marsh behind someones house once a week now pumping shit into a silt fence on the lake.

  • I'll try to send you a pic of what happened. A lakebound stream diverted into someones woods after a week of rain so I went in fishing waders to install a silt fence 20 feet into the lake to filter all of the pumped flood water out of.

  • Very well, I have a 25" Tru-cut that is in the same shape as yous. I bought a brand new Eastman 25" on Monday and I plan on picking up some accounts with it. You will find reel mowing to be very beneficial to the turf and will encourage a dense growth. Make sure to get a new chain guard on that chain because you will snag a bush or worse...a finger. I had to get a new one from Tru-cut, it's about a $17 part.

  • I got my index finger caught in the drive clutch and it took everything off around the finger nail. I've already busted the grease fitting off of it, but I'm having it drilled out an re-tapped tomorrow. It's really good for the grass, mainly because it leaves behind a small trace of thatch, which provides a good amount of nutrients for it. Eastmen is the same as Cali-Trimmer, right?

  • @Zaxis450lc Ahh that sucks. Sounds painful 0_o Eastman bought out Cal Trimmer about 2 years ago. Same quality if not better, the reels are made different and a few more things are zinc plated and a new paint scheme. I'll have to make a video of it operating soon.

  • It certainly was! BTW, I always use Rain Jet heads on irrigation projects! Very reliable, and very well constructed!

  • Nice mower mate, it has a fine cut!

  • Thanks Max!

  • Wow that thing cuts great! Cool video!

  • Thanks Willie! Let's see that Deere111 in action!

  • @Zaxis450lc Funny, I just worked on that thing Friday! Put a fresh battery in it, gave it a little starting Fluid and she fired right up! The gas in it is from 2008, too! But it run great! I didn't have my camera with though. Wednesday I'll hopefully be messing with it again. I put the deck back on it so I'll get some footage of it in action!

  • She's a true blue classic! I wish they'd make them like they did then now...

  • Awsome job Tyler so you are in the lawn bis to! lol

  • Thanks! Yes, I'm taking care of 17 yards every weekend with my friend.

  • wow ur keepin it golf course short

  • Lol, I guess! I'm cutting it at 1/2". My Seashore grass looks better. This customer always likes it cut short.

  • @Zaxis450lc we got a customer that likes it cut at 5 inches it sucks

  • Most of the grass around here in Hawaii is southern type. We have grasses that we cut at 2/11". That's why we use reel mowers like the Tru-Cut's.

  • @Zaxis450lc oh
