The problem I have with marijuana being legalized is that it will most likely lead to other things being legalized that are not positive for our society. It will also lead to more kids doing it because it will be easier to get. And you and I both know kids can get a hold of anything they want nowadays, through their siblings, parents, or even strangers.

@dosomethin888 educated urself couse u couldnt b more wrong , my friend , for exapmle im Amsterdam only about 12-14% of ppl using cannabis are teens , in the us its over 45% , and will it lead more kids to do it? doubt it, more kids do it at the time couse a drug dealer wont ask for their id, while a clerk at the store will(if they try 2get beer for exapmle)

Also, the majority of people don't smoke it and don't want it legalized, so there would have to be tight restriction on it: no smoking in cars, on the streets, around kids, etc. And you already know how hard it is to keep people from drinking and driving. Sure, you can say "Its not harmful, it is safer than alcohol and cigarettes and they're legal." But there is more to it than that. The negatives definitely out weight the positives, in my opinion.

i agree that children shouldnt be exposed to it, and that it should be done on private property or in designated public "smoking lounges" of some sort so that people could still have their fun, and other people dont have to be part of it, or watch it.

even though currently the number of marijuana related accident deaths is low, i think i heard 17 people somewere, it is over 15000 for alcohol, i understand that number will go up, but i dont think its as intoxicating, and i think people will be to

I guess some people that doesn't want to legalize it are scared that if they legalize Weed, then later plp will want to legalize Cocaine (for example)..

even then, what would happen to the organized crime based on cocaine if they aren't making any more money off of the illegal drug trade, and when the drug is cut with other substances they can be regulated so that your not snorting rat poison or something. I just believe that gangs and mobs or whatever are only in power due to money they make off of illegal drug trading which legalization of anything would cut into their profits, the more legalized the more screwed they are, the safer people are

Drink a whole bottle of tequila in half an hour. You'll see how harmfull alcohol is. Then try to smoke a huge joint of marihuana. And you'll see you can't smoke it all, because marihuana doesn't let's you abuse. It's just impossible to overdose on marihuana, but it's probable that you will a cirrhosis for abusing of alcohol. I often hear ppl against legalization say "it would send the wrong message to the children." We need someone to ask ppl on the street if they want to make coffee and wine illegal and when they say no, ask them if that sends the right message to the "children."
