I only discovered Harry Manx for the first time last night when I heard his latest Album at a friend's house at three in the morning after a late night jam session. I've already ordered "Bread and Buddha", I'm sure I'll be getting more of his stuff too!
Great stuff. There's something about the way he sings this song that doesn't sit right with me, but still very enjoyable. Props to anyone that tries a Hendrix cover, and especially, in Manx's case, on an unorthodox instrument.
I've seen Harry perform twice. He is also a brilliant slide & harp player, then he plays that hybrid guitar/vina 13 string deal which is just a jaw-dropper.
I met Harry in '04 (I think '04) at the Eaglewood festival-- a true musicians musician & a very gracious man...........MT
a guy asked me once whats the best banjo to buy,i replied one with the neck broken off
