  • I think it could be a great musical, but this song does not express the emotions I think it should... THere is no energy.. but I love the costume, and they sound great, but I think the expressing of their feelings should be said and not sung.

  • I don't know, it sort of depends. I mean, this song definately doesn't do it. But some of the other songs, like Brave Enough For Love really are passionate- depending on which one you listen to. I've only ever listened to the soundtrack with James Barbour as Rochester, and most of that's quite passionate

  • @MrsLovett112 I agree with you. Marla Schaffel and James Barbour's Jane Eyre is the most passionate version, and it fits my thoughts of Jane Eyre and what I think the spirit of the book is the closest. However, I still like this adaption. It's quite good, and keeps the characters well, and the music is delightful. :)

  • The general rule in musical theatre is that characters begin to sing when they can no longer speak, as they are too full of emotion. It may just be the song.

  • Are there 2 "Jane Eyre"-musical versions? If yes: Which one do you like best? And does somebody know where I can find these songs? I want to hear them ^^ (It would be great if someone could send me a PM! Please? *looks very cute*)

  • There are at least 5 musical versions of Jane Eyre, one of which is our version. Glad you enjoy it!

  • Oh, okay! ^^ I think this is a great version. Is there a CD or something? I'd like to hear more :)

  • I can`t agree with you, JaneAustenRules. In my opnion (and not only mine) a musical is the zenith of art! The music, dance, singing in one form- this is real art! That`s why I think that each book story can be turned into musical. It`s not any derogation.

  • I completely agree

  • Thank you :)

  • I whole heartily agree

  • i agree! i love Jane Eyre, but a musical?!

  • but I love musicals but rather as a movie than on stage I think Jane Eyre can make a nice musical

  • a classic like jane eyre turned into a musical! How could they? The King and I, mama mia etc. but a timeless piece of literature like Jane Eyre??? A movie is okay but broadway, a musical?

  • songs are beautiful but the orchestration could be better tho.

  • Wish i could of see this!!!
