Funny, I was just reading "Incognito" by David Eagleman and there is a lot about synesthesia in that book. Thanks for the comment; you might like Schubert's "The Erlking" which is also on my channel.
After watching this vid, you get this fuzzy illusion warp thingy going on lol ...
What I saw on the other vids about it being an APOCALYPTIC and ANGRY sounding song... all the criticism of some being too mellow with their interpretation, this sure clarifies what it SHOULD sound like...
Hi AeolianHall, thanks for uploading this recording from Horowitz. I'm trying to find the source of the text that is scrolling - is it Henri Cazalis? I found a translation of his Danse Macabre poem, but it is much shorter than what appears in the video. Do you know where the full text is?
@demosj What it says is that Poe inspired others, among them Cazalis who wrote this poem under the pseudonym Reboux. The notes that run along the length is written by Philip Conrad, who was a musicologist hired by The Aeolian Company to write material for the special Audiographic Rolls.
Glad you like it; I feel that Danse Macabre and The Erl-King are unexcelled in their Audiographic Roll format. Nevertheless, there are a lot more Liszt pieces and Audiographic Rolls that I plan to put on soon.
does anyone know what the red curvy lines are supposed to indicate?
