I was there that night and had just joked to my mate after the support had finished "it's just our luck for it to be cancelled" and then SHAZAM!!!... it was cancelled!.The acoustic stuff was a bonus though...and when we returned for the new date in June,R.E.M. played their bloody socks off...a fantastic,truly amazing and unforgetable night
Thank you for this - I had driven up from London and booked a night at the Hilton as my birthday treat, and the first time I was to have seen REM perform a whole show - utter disappointment - but wow! an amazing 4 songs, so thank you for the memories - and I got to see them when they re-scheduled later in the year.

That was a beautiful night, if a horribly disappointing one. I'd driven from Newcastle, but it wasn't so bad.
