I generally hover at about the 6fps mark. with most of me customs in graphics set to medium. I figure it's time to invest in a new mobo w/ onboard vid like SL yells @ me about when I load it. I would just buy a graphics card but ma dell only has one expansion slot. ONE! Can yoo belive that? Egads... and my stats would be better but i HAS to has Bump Mapping and Shiny! what's life w/ out shiney bumps... *eyez glaze*

second life is pretty good at first, but then theres really no point in it, not like a MMORPG which has quests and stuff.

SL is not so much a game, more a... second life! The easiest way to put it to people is think of a virtual chat room where anything is possible! I only suggest trying SL if you have an open mind as this is NOT a mmorpg like WoW, Rune Scape etc.

I've set up a basic account on SL but am having trouble getting into SL because of Quicktime. I'm amazed at the lack of support available to newbies.

Does it really get any better with a premium account? To be honest, from what I've seen, it's all very overwhelming with no-one to help...

dave, go to an Orientation sim and start asking all your questions. It's a steep learning curve -- no way to avoid it. And you also need a good, tuned system and your computer (and SL) preferences need to be set. At the website there is a lot of help (Knowledge Base), but a better place to start is by talking to others, maybe at a place like "NCI". Good luck.
