Looks to me that Holmes gave Butterbean a free ride. Probably he'd been told to let fight go to 10 rounds for the sake of the crowd and maybe so Butterbean wouldn't be hurt. Seems that Butterbean functioned as slow moving target for the whole fight. It was obvious that Holmes could have taken him out in any given round.
