Another thing is Didache Chap Three says to honor a man like you would God. No apostle would ever teach that and I quote " My child, remember night and day the one who is speaking God's message to you. Now you will honor him as you would honor the Lord." Thats just too much like who is the Lord's equal? I'm glad you made this video though I would have never know about Didache had it not been for the video at the start it had me considering it but as I read further to the end I saw its a NO NO.
The Didache seems fake to me for if it is the teachings of the Apostles why are the teachings on baptism a clear contridict the Apostle Peter in Acts 2:38 the whole act baptism writen in Didache three seems very catholic to be it tell us directly to say in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit and never once was the name (Jesus Christ or the words Lord Jesus) mentioned as the Apostle did Acts 19:1-7 it is my beleif that the apostles would have never had baptism wrong.
I also am of the opinion the Pope etc is 'possibly' an antichrist. So I'm just wary of anything like all that. The messiah and 1st deciples were hebrew/aramean jews and once things start to seem rather 'church father' like I'm always abit cautious. I agree with most the Didache though, it is indeed a very good compressed reference.
@sparkshot I myself am a Nazarene Jew. This means I believe that Yahushua is the Messiah, He is Yahuwah, but the Torah is not abolished. It is for today. This belief comes with the rejection of the Eucharist, as the Eucharist originated as a ploy to replace the Passover Feast, but this is contrary to the Scriptures.
I believe the Revelation of John prophesied about the Roman Catholic Church being the Whore of Babylon, and the protestant denominations being her prostitute daughters.
@carlsonap16 - I'm glad you just said your a Nazarene Jew, for the past 8 months or so I have been deep in research and prayer, and as a result for the past 3 or 4 months I have and actually this second am in the process of studying Netzari / Netzarim Judaism (same as Nazarene?) as I believe it might be the answer to all the inconsistencies everywhere, I.E, the 'True' denomination. ??
@carlsonap16 I'm also reading the AENT by Andrew Gabrial Roth etc, already been through all the studies in the back, going over them again. PM me if you want. I have much to bore you with regarding my studies and stuff.
@sparkshot where does it mention "holy catholic/universal" church? i did a word search and can't find it anywhere in the text of the didache. could you provide a reference?
@sparkshot perhaps. but then again, there are some legitimate teachings of the Catholic Church. For example, the Catholic Church believes that Messiah was God and died on the cross and was born of a virgin. things like that. i wouldn't reject something necessarily because it has some similarities with other religious viewpoints that may have some truth.
@carlsonap16 - Yeah your right, I'm not against all things catholic. but things like the 'eucahrist' (spelling unknown) believeing it actually transforms into the messiah etc I have issue with.
It is undoubtedly a borderline document and some now suggest it does date within the 1st century. As suggested by some: it would be good to place in Bibles as an appendix.
what is your reasoning for why it should not be included as Scripture? What criteria would it have to have in order to be included as such? However, I do appreciate you including them at least as appendixes, most people completely ignore the books altogether.
Polycarp, Shepherd of Hermas, Ignatius, and Clement of Rome all meet this criteria. Hermas and clement were referenced in New Testament. Clement, Ignatius and Polycarp and Hermas were all disciples of an Apostle. And they all quote and reference old and new testament.
Certainly but they must be grouped in their normal grouping. (Anti-Nicene Fathers).
Their word is truth, but again, it's really only for Christian scholars and intellectuals to delve into, the average person is satisfied with several re-readings of John and Paul's writings and doesn't require the same material verbatim in Polycarp, Clement and Ignatius.
We're linking the two Hermas together here, it's healthy speculation, but he would not be a church father, rather a disciple of the disciples.
@smartwarlord i'm not sure what you mean. what would not work at all with the other writings in the NT? I mentioned the Law of Moses because many people object to content in books as evidence that it is not Scripture. I simply sought to demonstrate that the content harmonizes with Scripture.
i already made outlines what the criteria for Scripture is. Didache meets the criteria, and therefore, if it meets the criteria, it is Scripture. See argument 4 of this video series for the criteria.

@sparkshot yes, Netzarim Judaism would be the same as Nazarene Judaism.

The mension of the 'Holy Catholic/Universal' church in the Didache puts me off as it being canon. It is however usefull to read with good advice in.

@carlsonap16 - No your right, i got it mixed up with the Apostles Creed. Sorry. Some things in the Didache still seem catholic in ways, but i dunno.

I propose this being added to an appendix in modern Bibles.
Note - this is the second time i watched the video.

I use Polycarp's and Origen's Criteria.
-Apostle
-disciple of Apostle
-mentioned by an Apostle
-containing prophecies, quotations or references of OT/NT
many other points, I've always sucked at outlines. But you get the picture.

Sorry. This would not work at all with other writings in the NT. And it is not an apostolic writing.
Its teaching on the Law of Moses is fine, but it simply shouldn't be a part of canon. Nor should it be appendixed.

well sure, it harmonizes more than Lord of the Rings or Moby Dick, but you don't see those in Bibles.
