A good video, but I would like to add that she's understating the importance of daily study. Don't take ANY days off. Just like you don't take days off from brushing your teeth or eating, language learning is the same.
And if you are serious about becoming fluent, 10 minutes a day won't cut it. I would suggest doing AT LEAST three 20 minute sessions spread throughout the day. First thing in the morning, one during the day, one before bed.
I love this video. I have been telling my students these same things. I 100% agree with all of the tips except one. I do not believe you have to go to the country, where the laguage is spoken, to become fluent. Maybe 60 years ago that was true, but these days there is so much media available, so that iti s not necessary to be in the country, although that would be nice. I have had student who wee completely fluent in English but had never even visited an English speaking country.thanks
@B1K1N1B1K1N1 anyone can learn another language. however english is the hardest because it is the most expressive and comprehensive. it is made up from bits of other languages of today and long ago including old english. I guarantee that if you did not grow up speaking it in an english speaking country in the western hemisphere you will be hard pressed to digest and entirely comprehend how to reciprocate or pronounce our words that contain more than 6 syllables.
that's crazy that you mentioned dreaming, because since i started studying slovak, i have been practicing it in my sleep! no joke! I was sreaming i was speaking to my friend from ruzemberok in as much slovak as i could manage, and another in which i was debating proper grammar with someone else! good to know i am on the right track.
i am very intrigued to start learning french because i want to live in Montreal in Quebec...that city is amazing...it has a very nice Europe vibe to it and it's a city that makes me feel warmth and comfort. i am looking forward to your videos and website! many thanks!
