This changed my life. I'm serious. I have been a Christian since last May but this just made me stop and think. I mean really who am I to judge myself? And I just can't grasp at how much God loves us.
I always thought I was a Christian doing what was right well today my life was changed I watched the movie Courageous and it changed my life my next step was to pick up the book Crazy Love by Francis Chan I now am renewing my life through Jesus Christ. I will be the Spiritual Leader in my home and my community that God wanted me to be. I am making this committment now and forever. I encourage you to take this walk with me!!!
This vid is awesome. We base a lot of what we say and think on prejudices. Atheists saying that Christians are ignorant because they don't believe in evolution etc. (Incidentally as a student of Biology, I believe in evolution AND God) Christians who say that Atheists have no morals/unselfish goals.. Just stop and think: imagine God as a pitcher that never gets empty and Christians as a cup. When more "cups" come to the Christian who is being filled by God, the cup overflows. Isn't that what Christianity is about? Letting our LOVE of God OVERFLOW into the lives of others? Maybe if all "Christians" were that way the world would be a better place and we wouldn't have these arguments
I think that it is really easy to be judgemental, christian or not, and as humans, we justify things by whether they are "right" or "wrong" based on our values, morals, experience, etc. The plain truth of it all is that GOD loves ALL of us. Now what you do with that will make a difference in your life and where you spend eternity, but God loves the murderer, the guy in prison, the thief--just as much as he loved mother Theresa. That is just God-wish i could be more like that.
He loves me in spite of my issues, when no one else does.

For those who keep fighting and debating about this and that, whether or not there is a God, excuse me but...what do you have to lose??! A life that begins and ends, for no reason? Is that all you want? Make a move, make your life worth it...seriously, what are you losing? :)
@theotherdoomguy Kudos to being honest! I would warn you, though, not to judge the claims of Christ by the foibles of messed-up people. Christians trip and mess up just like anyone else, but actually having a relationship with Christ is a faith thing, between you and your Creator, not to be judged or dictated by the sins or false teachings of lukewarm, sin-blinded Christians who need Christ desperately.
Looking at Christians and deciding whether or not to follow Christ is like being in an endangered ship and following fellow ships rather than keeping your eyes on the lighthouse. The only way to make a decision of that magnitude is to steer clear of the temptation of judging Christ by fellow humans. Christ is the author and finisher of our faith.
I enjoyed this video, especially pointing out that we aren't "good" people. Everything good comes from God and it is so amazing that he shows us grace so we can accept him and not get what we most definitely deserve. If you don't believe in Jesus and you are reading this, I'm glad you are being honest in your belief. No matter what, never cease to seek for Truth, which will stand for itself.
God saved my life when I was a baby. A pound and a half. I've always always always trusted in God since the day I've been born. Though I've only been to church once, and I want to go more. Just, lately I've been so stressed that that I've been doubting God, even though I do believe that Jesus was real and gave his life. I don't know what to do.
@TheCaramelpocky You are not alone...I am absolutely, 100%, with no doubt, no reservation, convinced there is "The Creator"....yet...sometimes....I have the same thoughts you have...However, when I am weak in my flesh and Spirit, the Spirit within me is assured by the Spirit of God....and I am once again peaceful. :-)

@TheCaramelpocky I feel that too sometimes but we have the spirit in us, readily available. And when we feel that way we just need to ask, "Lord why can't I feel you? Did I do something wrong? Is there something I need to confess about? Shine your light on it, reveal whatever it is to me". :-)
I'm not a Christian, but thank you for not being aggresive in your faith. If more Christians were like you, I wouldn't have a problem with Christianity in general.
@theotherdoomguy I understand. I'm Christian, and I do not believe shoving it down people's throats is love. However, the biggest problem with Christianity nowadays is that Christians are blending in and being accepted. Christians should not be accepted. People should have a problem with us. However, it cannot be by a lack of love, but by love. eg. forgiving someone who doesn't deserve it. Going the extra mile for someone who is rejected by many, etc.
@iamtheparty23 I am not advocating separation in the world. However, if doing the right thing requires it, then so be it. It's better for the world to be separated than to have everyone going down the wrong path. Are the health advisors who try to tell people to be healthy advocating separation of the world? What Christians do is they look at Jesus' teachings and say "Hey, I agree with that, so let me follow it". Well if you agree with it, why aren't you just following it anyway? Without being told to follow it?
do you think that being a good person is enough for you to go to heaven to be with a Holy, Just and Sovereign God? God loves us so much that He sent Jesus to die for our sins that believing in His sacrifice we are able to know the God who created us in an intimate and relational way. If there was a way for us to be "good enough" to get to heaven, Jesus wouldn't have had to suffer and die as the propitiation for us. Its not just about His teaching, its that He loved us to death.

If you don't believe that Jesus lived and are open, pray and ask God to reveal the truth to you. If you don't care... well that's just another conversation entirely.
@ninjajesus81 Well the flaw in just doing what you "Think" is right is that while you may think murder is not an appropriate response to anger, some may think that if someone makes them angry enough they should just shoot them. so for Christians its not about following what we agree with but follow the God that we believe is Perfect. We were given free will from God so HE lets us choose what we believe and what we think so its not completely that we were told to follow but because we choose to.
@moterhead98 Well if you think murder is ok, then no matter what the Bible says, you're probably going to end up in jail eventually. That's why the percentage of Christians in prison is the same as it is outside prison. Their Christian beliefs do nothing to keep them from committing crimes.
Not to mention, in Christianity, all you have to do is repent and you're forgiven. It's not like that for atheists. We don't allow ourselves to do wrong simply because we can say "sorry" later.

What Christians do is they look at the teachings and say "That's a good way to live, I agree with all of that", and therefore say they're following Jesus. But they're not really. They're doing what they were going to do anyway.
They're using their innate morality to judge the Bible's morality, proving they never needed the Bible at all.
@ninjajesus81 Because Jesus is the part that matters most. Jesus calls you to love your enemies, forgive those who harm you, and help those in need. Those things are not human nature, and that is why you must make a conscious decision to acknowledge Jesus and follow his teachings.

Very true everything except the part near the end, I don't believe you can just accept God and Jesus and then you're set for life. Just like he was saying if it's a relationship it's continual commitment and hard work, after you marry someone you can't just say okay even if I cheat or lie to them to hurt them we're good, no you must continually love Jesus and not sin and everytime you do you have to confess it and always be trying to be a better person
Also you have to remember are planet is a sequence of events with infinity to one odds but this is because with infinity time and infinity space even the impossible becomes possible. Each one of us is near impossible to recreate yes this is hard to get your head around and you may choose the easy way out an follow a religion word for word, but a religion's are there to teach us how to live are life's not how they started
@PipM8 I'm glad you'd voice your opinions, all I find that doesn't make sense about what you say is that there isn't infinite time, both science and philisophical thought give strong evidence there was a beginning, if time had already been going for an eternity you'd never get to this moment, and if the universe really is expanding like all scientists I know say it is then both time and space must be finite.
@jabbaquar Yes are universe had a beginning, so time as we know it had a start and yes you are correct in saying are universe is still expanding but that begs the question expanding into what? therefore leads onto saying how large is the space we are expanding in to and is there time.

What matters to you and to me is that if everything we can see had a beginning what created that? And do you think there's any purpose to life? I'm curious to know what you think. @jabbaquar yes we started as a higgs bosen which contained all are mass and time, which they calculate to be bowling ball size, but they say time only started when it expanded therefore the higgs boson containning all this matter wouldn't have time before that point. i personnally would love my ideas to be proven wrong and be at the cutting edge of physics, being a young physicist and mathematician, I have all of these questions.
@PipM8 I find it funny that you are a young physicist and mathematician, I'm planning to start studying physics next year at uni and my dad is a physicist. There are two problems with the higgs boson theory; 1, if this thing was eternal, without time, then what made it expand? and two the most recent multi-billion pound experiment that's last several years to find this boson has completely and utterly failed to find anything, so they're either going to have to rethink theory or keep trying.
@jabbaquar Point of life you ask, well if you look at it from one angle the time we are on earth and are mass, we are insignificant compared to the universe. But what we can do as an individual in that time is what counts. thats where religion comes in to teach there is a point to life and we should live it to its most and follow a few rules.Personally to me that common sense i haven't come from a religous backgrond thats just how i was brought up.

Both physical laws and other people interact with our freedom, we don't choose where we're born or who our parents are, or who'll like us or how tall we'll be. Yet there are some choices we get to make, believe in and trust God or not is simply one of them. But the fact we've been created shows me God cares about all of us.

Everyone has been voicing there opinion, so don't cut me down because of mine. I don't feel religion is a waste of time but just a concept so people can find the right path in life it doesn't make you weak that you need the guidance from a passage written thousands of years ago because it obviously has helped people or otherwise it would of faded out of the human race. I personally don't need that guidance in life and feel are world is a beautiful place and we do need to respect it more.

@lloloss2 You are right,plants and animals do not know about "religion" but scripture says that the Heavens declare the Glory of God, and also that all creation groaneth. My friend ,I know you'll find this hard to believe but plants and animals have an even better concept of the Creator. You do not realize this because you have shut the Creator out. I think the message for the most part about loving one another, taking care of the earth and enjoying your time here is timeless. I don't think it needed all the religious talk however. Quite often that makes people turn away.

@Kristinalee15 don't go to church, they just filter and just make you feel good by being in a fake social group. Just read the bible yourself if you're interested. In fact, read about everything from non-biased sources and have an interesting time doing it :)
This really has changed my life if not a lot, the fact that we take so much for granted without noticing or even bothering to look at the big picture and be happy and smile, appreciate all we have and not what we don't have. Believe it or not, all the awe this guy feels about real life, is MUCH more awesome when you're an atheist. The sheer chance of us being on this planet of TRILLIONS of hostile planets, at this time in BILLIONS of years, being conscience when MILLIONS of other species have no idea, to be in this TIME of equality and technology when human history is full of suffering, to be RICH enough to be able to type this on a computer and talk to anyone on the planet. But God? The truth is, the God you don't believe in DOES love you that much. He DID send his Son to die for you, for every despicable detail you may hate yourself for. Just stop and think: imagine God as a pitcher that never gets empty and Christians as a cup. When more "cups" come to the Christian who is being filled by God, the cup overflows. I think that it is really easy to be judgemental, christian or not, and as humans, we justify things by whether they are "right" or "wrong" based on our values, morals, experience, etc. The plain truth of it all is that GOD loves ALL of us. Now what you do with that will make a difference in your life and where you spend eternity, but God loves the murderer, the guy in prison, the thief--just as much as he loved mother Theresa. God saved my life when I was a baby. A pound and a half. I've always always always trusted in God since the day I've been born. Though I've only been to church once, and I want to go more. Just, lately I've been so stressed that that I've been doubting God, even though I do believe that Jesus was real and gave his life. I don't know what to do.

However, the biggest problem with Christianity nowadays is that Christians are blending in and being accepted. Christians should not be accepted. People should have a problem with us. However, it cannot be by a lack of love, but by love. eg. forgiving someone who doesn't deserve it. Going the extra mile for someone who is rejected by many, etc.

@moterhead98 Well if you think murder is ok, then no matter what the Bible says, you're probably going to end up in jail eventually. That's why the percentage of Christians in prison is the same as it is outside prison. Their Christian beliefs do nothing to keep them from committing crimes.
Not to mention, in Christianity, all you have to do is repent and you're forgiven. It's not like that for atheists. We don't allow ourselves to do wrong simply because we can say "sorry" later.

What Christians do is they look at the teachings and say "That's a good way to live, I agree with all of that", and therefore say they're following Jesus. But they're not really. @jabbaquar yes we started as a higgs bosen which contained all are mass and time, which they calculate to be bowling ball size, but they say time only started when it expanded therefore the higgs boson containning all this matter wouldn't have time before that point. i personnally would love my ideas to be proven wrong and be at the cutting edge of physics, being a young physicist and mathematician, I have all of these questions.

There are two problems with the higgs boson theory; 1, if this thing was eternal, without time, then what made it expand? and two the most recent multi-billion pound experiment that's last several years to find this boson has completely and utterly failed to find anything, so they're either going to have to rethink theory or keep trying.

@lloloss2 Very true, nature and animals don't know religion because religion is a set of rules created by men; nature doesn't have a mind to think of it, but the Bible says that all of creation sings God’s praise. Cacti and lilies, deserts and forests, doves and scorpions–everything that God created worships him and shows His glory. If the nature in this video is beautiful imagine how much more beautiful the creator is. The painter is always greater than the painting.

My friend ,I know you'll find this hard to believe but plants and animals have an even better concept of the Creator. You do not realize this because you have shut the Creator out. I really want some help-- I am a Christian but my parents aren't very religious so we don't really go to church. I want to be religious and go to church and learn about God and accept him into my life, I just don't know how. I'm afraid to talk to my mom. But I really want to have God in my life<3 thanks!!

@Kristinalee15 don't go to church, they just filter and just make you feel good by being in a fake social group. Just read the bible yourself if you're interested. In fact, read about everything from non-biased sources and have an interesting time doing it :)

This really has changed my life if not a lot, the fact that we take so much for granted without noticing or even bothering to look at the big picture and be happy and smile, appreciate all we have and not what we don't have. A lot of us may not know that there are some daily sins we do, just thank God for the forgiving person he is. We should enjoy life the fullest. Thank for making such an inspirational video

Believe it or not, all the awe this guy feels about real life, is MUCH more awesome when you're an atheist. The sheer chance of us being on this planet of TRILLIONS of hostile planets, at this time in BILLIONS of years, being conscience when MILLIONS of other species have no idea, to be in this TIME of equality and technology when human history is full of suffering, to be RICH enough to be able to type this on a computer and talk to anyone on the planet. It's UNBELIEVABLE, especially without God

Knowing that the One who created all this stuff you're amazed with is absolutely incredible and terrifying at the same time. You're absolutely blessed by this unfathomable God, and you don't even realize it. The world is full of suffering, and equality isn't ubiquitous. But God? The truth is, the God you don't believe in DOES love you that much. He DID send his Son to die for you, for every despicable detail you may hate yourself for. We all hide stuff from others, even from ourselves, trying to deceive ourselves to ignore problems. But God knows, and loves you yet.

And no, 'the glory of nature' does not obviously prove God. If the bible is the truth, then God isn't trying to find, yet he IS hidden in every way expect the Bible.
