I watched this movie, last night. Isn't it a remake or sequel? It seems like in the 69s or 70s there was a Zilla movie with Mothra, and a little set of twin fairy girls who sang to call Mothra. Anybody out there who remembers? Or remembers what the title and/or yr it came out there. Now this is starting to get on my nerve.

@jacksondarksonic Battra is more or less Mothra's evil twin. In the Hensei series Mothra was born to protect humanity and Battra to protect the planet. Humans = bad for the planet, so Battra decided humans had to go, coming into conflict with Mothra. They allied only to stop Godzilla, who was bad period.

I hate to say it's pretty much the same plot as the last time Godzilla and Mothra fought each other, Mothra lays an egg, Adult Mothra goes to fight Godzilla, Godzilla pounds Adult Mothra into the ground, the Shobijin sing their song, the egg hatches and baby Mothras save the day. Seriously Toho come up with a new plot for Mothra

Toho's kaiju films are beautiful works of art. The man-in-a-monster suit and model buildings are a genre unto themselves. They should be respected just as puppetoons, anime, etc. are. Godzilla is best in this form. Too bad the upcoming 2012 Godzilla is scheduled to be CGI. It just won't be Godzilla. Hopefully, it will still be okay, though.
