There was no death required to forgive sin; Jesus death was only required to destroy the affects of the original sin which brought death to the human race. Martin Luther was the one who wanted to translate the New Testament and the church tried extremely hard to stop him. Its hard to give facts but John Wycliffe was translating the Bible in English and The Pope was so infuriated that 44 years after Wycliffe had died, he ordered the bones to be dug-up, crushed, and scattered in the river.

Jesus broke the law on many occasions: Healing during the Sabbath, eating with the unclean, talking to a prostitute, abolishing stoning, abolishing kashrut (Matthew 15,10-11: "Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man"). In (John 7:22) he said that circumcision is not mandated by God, as passed down through Moses, but is something made up by the fathers and patriarchs of Jewish society.

In John 7:22, Jesus said to the HYPOCRITICAL religious leaders that were arguing that Jesus is breaking the Sabbath by HEALING someone on the Sabbath that they circumcise on the Sabbath and claim it is not breaking the Sabbath. Hypocrites! Jesus hates hypocrisy (see Matthew 5:17-20).

@nicopopoify Moses gave them the commandment, not because Moses came up with the practice but that it was a practice handed down from the fathers. Where did the fathers get the practice--from Abraham. Genesis 17:9-10 GOD says to Abraham that he and his descendants are to keep the covenant of circumcision! Exodus 4:24-25 God was ready to kill Moses because Moses had not circumcised his son.

God made a new covenant with Moses based on the 10 commandments. This covenant already superseded and nullified the old covenant made with Abraham, and God didn't try to kill Moses, but wanted to test his faith by asking him to sacrifice his son.

First you said that the lord tried to kill Abraham, now you are saying that he tried to kill Moses. The sin of Moses in Exodus (4:24-26) is not stated explicitly, but the surrounding events give substantial clues as to the nature of Moses’ transgression. God had instructed his messenger to warn pharaoh to free Israel or pharaoh would lose his firstborn son (Exodus 4:21-24).
When God gave Moses the 10 Commandments, it was regarded as a new covenant.

Paul was a torah observer also. The only problem with this video is you have to read what Paul wrote from the hebrew perspective and consider the exact people Paul was speaking to. Paul taught the Jews and the Gentiles differently. Most of paul's letters weren't meant for this generation; they aren't eternal like the words of Yeshua himself. Peter was given the authority to bind(restrict) and loose(allow) what the Gentile Church were required to do under the Mosaic Law.

It takes the holy spirit to help you understand Paul's letters because they are indeed hard to understand and easily twisted as Peter stated. You should research something called (hebrew idioms) and you would see how most of Paul's sayings are actually figures of speech; not meant to be taken literally by today's Christians.

There was no death required to forgive sin; Jesus death was only required to destroy the affects of the original sin which brought death to the human race. God forgave sin on countless occasions however he never brought a soul back to life not even a righteous one; that's why Jesus came.

so is paul telling the truth in his letters or not? I just got done reading the didache. it's only 16 chapters. It call's Jesus "servant" instead of "Lord". It references the gospels a lot tho. Assuming the Gospels we have today haven't been corrupted we're fine. But i've never read any letters of paul so who knows.

@moeazysgc Man if you study the history of the Bible you can see that the Vatican wanted to stop the publication of a Bible in English several times. Martin Luther was the one who wanted to translate the New Testament and the church tried extremely hard to stop him. Its hard to give facts but John Wycliffe was translating the Bible in English and The Pope was so infuriated that 44 years after Wycliffe had died, he ordered the bones to be dug-up, crushed, and scattered in the river.

@moeazysgc Its like this, if your son committed a crime would you take the penalty of death for him. If you TRULY love your boy and he's young you probably would. Because of this, someone is paying the price for the crime, so its just, yet loving because were his children. Thats why he sent Jesus, his only son (says it in Bible), to pay the price for our sins. People were keeping the law and were still going to hell because it was self-righteous. They didn't do it for God but for themselves.

Many Christians believed he was not God in the early day, however the Catholics exterminated these christian groups. I do not understand why he needs to be God. The Visigoths who sacked Rome were one early christian group who believed this.

This is just about the worst theology i have heard. The Didache is part of the Apostolic Fathers, you can get it anywhere. It is the teadhings of the 12 apostles or what people are supposed to do after they become Christian. Silence on that issue relates to the fact that it is a practical application book, not a theology book. Jude is speaking against sects like the gnostics and other groups that denied Jesus's divinity and engaged in immoral behavior (see Revelations 1-3 for examples)

If Jude does did not believe that Jesus was the Son of God why does he call himself a servant of Jesus Christ who is preserved in Jesus Christ? What is Jude preserved from in Jesus Christ? If you study the bible then you see that Paul's gospel is no different from the gospel Christ proclaimed in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. I thought it was a bull that was slain on what is now called Yom Kippur that had to do with the remission of sins and atonement. That's a different time of year than the Pascal lambs, which had nothing to do with atonement, though John's changing of the timing of Jesus' death from the Synoptic gospels would lead one to believe there must be a good reason they forced it to happen at the time of the slaying of the lambs.

The Didache is just a church manuel instructing how to baptise and hold communion. It instructs on the Eucharist which Jesus told his Disciples to do in his memory at the last supper.
It also teaches baptism in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. This is the Trinity. They where surely seen as equal.

So it's blasphemy to deride any bit of the bible except Paul right? That's pretty screwed up fundamentalism. Paul was appointed by God to convert gentiles who were not to be subject to Jewish law and so also the law of Moses. "Do not pour the new wine into the old vessels lest they burst" So who really followed the word of Christ, Paul who succeed in converting the gentiles using only the new wine? Or the apostles who failed to convert the Jews mixing the new wine with the old vessel of the law?

@2001perseus My point was that Paul or Saul of Tarsus is a singular target for people who think of themselves as fundamentalist purists mainly because he did not teach Jewish law or concentrate on Baptism. Yet the same purists will denounce anyone argueing back on anything else. The ability of the Christian community to implode on itself is ever undiminished. People will believe or not believe as historically genuine what they choose to. That is up to them. I am no believer in thought control.
