@dayradio65 Normal, its the Outflow-Valve, it closes after or shortly before Takeoff. Its just an opening to release Airflow from the Cabin and AC. Every Aircraft has this in the rear.

why do people fuss over st marteen! there is other airports where planes come exactly at the same hieght eg. lanzarote, bournemouth, and sometimes even gibralar. the only reoson why people think it's spectacular is because they normally see it on the internet where the photographers have altered it, and 9/10 people believe it.

I've been to Lanzarote, Gibralter and St Maarten - and I can assure you St Maarten is the lowest planes have came.

Lanzarote is about 200 - 100ft.
