That's a beautiful bike man, my dad has the 400cc model They are a very smooth ride but the down side is the back passenger seat my thys feel very numb after going about 40miles is there a way to reduce it?
Hello. I see it's been a while since you got your burgie 650, and I was wondering if you still have it/ride it. I have been looking at the 2007 red one, used, on several sites, and love, love, love it. There are so many things you can do to it, to make it your own. The executive model seems to be the one with the best resale. What kind of long trips have you made on it, or do you only use it for commuter stuff? Thanks for the vid, with the detailed info/walkthrough of the bike's features!!
Nice video, very informative, love the colour match via your scooter and the vehicle parked next to it. I like how the Dog barks when you push the horn. Ha ha ha.
Hey Man the "Burgman 650" is O.K. it's nothing to Brag about but it's alright Honda has been making scooters for years my friend has a Suzuki and he swears that it's the shit I told him to calm his ass down because I had the Honda Elite 80 and now I have an E-Bike The X-Treme XB 700 Li with Front and Rear Hydraulic Suspension Suzuki, Yamaha If you can't go American at least get something up to par... Honda Yes, Harley Davidson Yes,Suzuki No!!!! a big NOOOOO!!!!!!!!Don't kid yourself.AMERICA#1
Great review. Would have competed the video to mention the miles per gallon it usually gets but, otherwise its a wonderfully helpful video. Until seeing this I always thought scooters were sorta dumb but, I'm ready to sell my car and buy one of these. Neat.
I LOVE your group the F-250 and the scooter im 13 going on 14 and in florida or jacksonville i should say im able to get my permit a 15 should i get that type of scooter im pretty tall and average body maybe a bit built not to much but i am just in love with that scooter how many cc's is that?Have you ever ridden two people on it and goodness thats a major trunk you got a lot of storage! Did you get it off ebay 'caus ethats where im going to get mine probably if not cragslist.
Could you please give me more details on the after market spot mirrors? I can't find them. What's the name of them please. Thank you and great video sir
@Thescalemodeler1718 The top speed for a 650 is 120 MPH, and I got one up to that speed- let me tell you, the Burgman 650 can move!!! I had a white one for a few years and you can go very long travelling distances on that bike.
hi friend i would like to buy one windshield like you have... is it the same as the honda goldwing have?? if not tell me where can i buy one cause i agree with you the windshield stock is too short..... but the dealer where i bought it says we can't install the honda goldwing windshield cause theyre not made for the same bike..... i'm confuseed now.... can u help me?? cause summer is comin very soon here in quebec!!!! thanks!!!
Impressive! Coming from a 125cc background, I'd imagine that the extra road "presence" and visibility of the 650 Burgie would add up to extra safety. I just may add this model to my "must see" list of used scoots I'll consider. Thanks for posting.
Wait...the LEFT brake lever is for the FRONT brake??!! Is that a standard thing on scooters? Seems weird; I like to use the rear brake on my motorcycle when doing slow turns, etc. That would be pretty difficult to do on this if the right lever controls the back brake....?
@FatherTimeST1300 Thanks, and sorry for the late reply. Yes, the left is Definitely the back brake...I've confirmed it on my Burgman (that I purchased since making this post!) ;-)
Very informative video, thanks! I was all set to get another Motorcycle, but these Burgmans have really made me stop and think. Between the storage (carrying around a helmet sucks) and the automatic transmission I think I'm sold - my biker friends probably won't let me ride with them anymore, haha.
Do you guys think it's worth the extra money to spring for the Exec, rather than the "Standard" 650 model? I haven't ridden a bike with ABS, but it's gotta be a good thing I'm thinking!
Epic video, epic bike. I love this, man xD I'm gonna add this vid. to my favorites. I'm 19 years old and next year when I'm allowed to drive every bike I want I wanted to buy a new mtorbike but this one here is so epic, I think youcame to a decision for me :-D My new bike will be "Suzuki Burgman 650" xD
I'm looking to purchase a bike for commute and touring, don't care for the oversized cruisers and the crotch rockets, and this bike came up, would it be good for a starter? I don't plan on having it for casual use, but also a way to work :D. Can you recommend it? Are the 2010/11(iftheymakeit) still good?

I have a 09 and love it. I like that you dont have to jump over it to ride it and the baggage room is amazing. Everything about it is easy for the rider. Reminds me of the old pacifica in some ways.
Coolest maxi out there, I'm about to buy the 650 executive 2010 model. I was wondering if this bike has/or could have a radio installed as an option ?
I don't like the front brake on the left, that's a very bad idea on an otherwise excellent piece of machinery. The brakes ought to be in the traditional location like my Helix.
Thanks for the video I'm currently in the process of buying a Burgman 650 and was wondering about the controls and how they are laid out on the bars and it looks awesome, Thank you for taking the time to make such an informative video on the controls! makes me less nervous about picking mine up this week
yum. nice putt, informative video mate well done for an amateur covered the basics well. damn...now i'm more convinced than ever..I gotta get me one of those..and that red..hmmm nice. stupidly they haven't really taken off in NZ, scooter phobia..too much red meat..if it aint a bike its a pussy...I need to change my circle of friends LOL
Nice video, well done for your first one. You oughtta sell them. You would have convinced me to buy one if I didn't already own a Majesty 09. I do love the Burgman Exec though and that just made me love it more.
Great video, looking to get a maxi scooter myself but I'm torn between this burgman and the honda silverwing. I'm about 6ft 4" so it'll probably be which ever gives me the most leg room.
Mate I will tell you that bike is gorgeous no other word for it....
I love Burgman's, I had a UH125 version that was stolen just weeks after I bought it.
The thieves totaled it, such as waste, it cost me a fortune and I just can't believe people would do such a thing, it cost me a fortune from the dealership.
Make sure no one gets their sticky hands on yours!
My GW had that vent, ended up covering it with small piece of storm door screen to keep bugs from hitting me in the face & chest. A mod you may want to make. Them bugs can hurt! : )
Excellent informative video. Thanks for posting it. I wish you could have had someone operating the camera cause we should have seen more of you operating things with two hands. ;-)
If only suzuki dealers were this informative. Great infomercial, duck. I'm buying one of these bikes soon, and your suggestion regarding the windshield was excellent.
At 5'11" will I be able to see over the top of the screen with it lowered all the way down?
I liked the video, very informative, i spotted one earlier this week and i shall almost certainly be looking for one in the near furture.. safe riding
Thanks for the video! I'm looking at getting the 650 and your setup looks like I would like to do, too (with the additonal side mirrors plus a bigger windshield).
The only additional thing I would like to try is to mount an LCD screen with built-in GPS and rearview camera. I'm not sure if that tech is available yet in the motorcycle / scooter industry yet, though.
Curious about the auto windscreen. If you have 3 orr 4 inches of adjustment, why did you need to replace the stock-standard windscreen? Was the 3-4inches still not enough? Are you tall?
I am only 5'10". I found the stock windscreen at the highest adjustment caused the airstream to hit my helmet at my forehead - extreme buffeting. The Clearview has a slightly different angle and cures this problem. Money well spent!
Hi Foxy - That is a difficult question because it depends on many factors. On the plus side, this is a very easy bike to drive. It is also easy to balance at a full stop if your feet can touch the ground. On the downside, this bike is very heavy to pick-up should it fall over. Also there is enough power to get yourself into trouble if you are not careful! Regardles of what you eventually choose, please take a good motorcycle safety course!
duckscooter sir I 've one just one question that if someone want to change the lever brakes foe opposite wheels?? is it possible sir!! or anyone who could reply me thanks!!
I suppose that you could disconnect the brake lines at the master cylinders, have a couple of extension hoses made at an auto parts store, then connect to the opposite master cylinders. BUT I THINK IT WOULD BE DANGEROURS TO DO SO!
It's not that bad - weights in at around 600 lbs with full fluids. It handles better than many streetbikes i've ridden in the past - very low center of gravity. However I have no idea how a Vespa handles having never ridden one.
This is such an informative, intelligent and thorough introduction to the Bergman Exec. Great job, and helpful for anyone dreaming of a large scooter. Thanks, Duckscooter.
I own a 2008 Burgman 650 and im wondering where did you purchage those spot mirrors, I've looked for some at the auto parts stores and did'nt have any luck.
I sure love that color of red alsoo, looks more like burgandy. It's too bad Suzuki quit making the red executive model in 2008. It's almost impossible to find any of these for sale.
Saw one of these today in Torrevieja, Spain, whilst shopping in Carrefour, it looked so like my like colored 1998 Pan European but even better!! The Spanish owner was over the moon I was ogling it, so he showed me around his but your video completes the picture for me - now go get yourself a job selling them, you've convinced me, God Bless, Paul ex UK Police
I was going to get the this awesome burgman but end up with the VTXf......still getting one.....this video is awesome thanks duckscooter for showing us the vid.....that trunk space got me WOW!
When you were showing the dash and the intrument panel I noticed what looked like vents...does it blow heat or something...that would be nice in the winter...lol.
Why did you opt for a scooter instead of a motorcycle of the same size? personally I think the large scooters are better but wanted to get an actual owners opinion. Thanks
I've got a 1984 V65 Magna (1100cc) in the garage - wonderful go-fast bike, but it's work to drive in traffic. The Scoot (being automatic) is a breeze and is so much smoother to ride. The Scoot also corners much better than the big bikes. And... I love the trunk!
Wow. This bike is just awesome, you must be very proud! I've now got it into my head that I must have one. Only thing is, I'm a 5'4 10.5 stone female and I wonder if this bike would be too awkward/heavy for someone of my size? I am of average strength...I would very much appreciate your thoughts! Thx!
Hi! I have to tell you, I had to Google the '10.5 stone' reference as I have never heard this before (such a sheltered life I lead...)! In any case, I suspect that your issue would not be with the weight of the bike per se (it balances very well as the engine is mounted so low). I do think you may have a problem with touching the ground. I am 5'10" with a 30" inseam - I cannot touch both feet flat - I use the balls of my feet. I would suggest you test-sit one at a dealership first!
Hey again! Just wanted to say thanks for the informative reply. I actually found myself parked next to a Burgman yesterday which was great, to be able to see it size-wise - think I might just be ok! It was so gorgeous! Thanks again!
Great video. The sliding windshield is awesome and the folding mirrors are too. Regarding the mirrors.....aren't they a little low? It looks like they'd be hard to see being right behind the grips.
Hi Joe - I have no problems with mirror blockage at all. They are quite a bit below the grips visually. I initially though they may be a problem, but now I like the location better than the "stem" mirrors on my V65. I do advise adding the blind spot mirrors.
Thanks Smyrna! Yours is one of the videos I watched when I was researching the Burgman - thanks for the help! Haven't I seen your handle on the BurgmanUSA forum?
This video was the most informative and helpful I have EVER seen! You sold this bike for me! I've been juggling between a motorcycle and this scooter for a while and you answered it with this! No question on which scooter I would get, have a Suzuki Zuma moped and it's the best moped money can buy, but it's time to upgrade to this guy... Thanks so much for an awesome video!
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. it is very hard (as I am sure you know) find any good info on this bike and the silverwing.....happy trails
Hi - Glad it helped! I just noticed that I claimed that the left brake lever is the front brake - this is incorrect! Front brake on the right, rear on the left.
cheers man, thanks.

This is such an informative, intelligent and thorough introduction to the Bergman Exec. Great job, and helpful for anyone dreaming of a large scooter. Thanks, Duckscooter.

Way better than the Suzuki video that played sappy music while two people rode off on a Burgman. I wanna buy one now!

That thing is huge.

Great video, I wish to own one for work soon... I was also wondering more about the awsome windshield. Can you tell me more about that?
1greenclovers1 3 years ago
Hi! The windshield is a ClearView XL w/Vent - it's a "must have" upgrade!
duckscooter 3 years ago
I own a 2008 Burgman 650 and im wondering where did you purchage those spot mirrors, I've looked for some at the auto parts stores and did'nt have any luck.
markh179 3 years ago
Nice vid...... how much does the other passenger have when riding? I'm thinking of purchasing one in early 2009...
dpowell700 3 years ago
I sure love that color of red alsoo, looks more like burgandy. It's too bad Suzuki quit making the red executive model in 2008. It's almost impossible to find any of these for sale.
CharmKatDog 3 years ago
That was a very good video. I learned more from you than the local salesman. I am about to purchase a 2008 model.
roadkill1210 3 years ago
You'll love this Scoot! Glad I could help.
duckscooter 3 years ago
Hi! At this point I'm getting 49 MPG on open road riding (freeways) and 42 MPG city. You'll have to do the conversions to liters and kilometers.
duckscooter 3 years ago
Bon Giorno! I'm not sure what you're asking - "reverse" maybe? If so, no - it does not have reverse.
duckscooter 3 years ago
Saw one of these today in Torrevieja, Spain, whilst shopping in Carrefour, it looked so like my like colored 1998 Pan European but even better!! The Spanish owner was over the moon I was ogling it, so he showed me around his but your video completes the picture for me - now go get yourself a job selling them, you've convinced me, God Bless, Paul ex UK Police
fryinspain 3 years ago
LOL! If only I could find some to sell... There hasn't been a new Burgman in Texas since May!
duckscooter 3 years ago

What a fantastic Review / Walk around of the bike - all to the point and very well presented!
Well done keep up the hard work!

I LOVE the trunk! I now carry a 12V air compressor & a tire repair kit - still have room for a helmet & a laptop!
duckscooter 3 years ago
I was going to get the this awesome burgman but end up with the VTXf......still getting one.....this video is awesome thanks duckscooter for showing us the vid.....that trunk space got me WOW!
Cognetto 3 years ago
here is a stupid questions for you...how do you give gas (throttle)?
markpianoman 3 years ago
Hi - There are no "stupid" questions! Just twist the throttle (right handgrip). Alot like a JetSki except you twist instead of pushing a lever.
duckscooter 3 years ago
Hey, What is the gas mileage on this machine??
JediOfTheEarth 3 years ago
Hi Jedi - Around town (lots of stop-n-go) I average around 40. Freeway cruising is around 50 mpg. Not as good as a Smart Car, but lots more fun!
duckscooter 3 years ago
When you were showing the dash and the intrument panel I noticed what looked like vents...does it blow heat or something...that would be nice in the winter...lol.
majorghn 3 years ago
The only operational vent is in the windshield. What appear to be dash vents are actually drains to shed water off the dash.
duckscooter 3 years ago
As I listen to your great video...you sound sooo much like Rush Limbau...lol.
majorghn 3 years ago
OMG NO!!!!! LOL!
duckscooter 3 years ago
Why did you opt for a scooter instead of a motorcycle of the same size? personally I think the large scooters are better but wanted to get an actual owners opinion. Thanks
majorghn 3 years ago
I've got a 1984 V65 Magna (1100cc) in the garage - wonderful go-fast bike, but it's work to drive in traffic. The Scoot (being automatic) is a breeze and is so much smoother to ride. The Scoot also corners much better than the big bikes. And... I love the trunk!
duckscooter 3 years ago
What a beautiful bike....good color choice too.

hi mate, what a great video, I,ve got one too, but three years older and I have to say I just love your adjustable windshield.good job buddy.

Thx!
creamypeaches3 3 years ago
I would suggest you test-sit one at a dealership first!
duckscooter 3 years ago
Hey again! Just wanted to say thanks for the informative reply. I actually found myself parked next to a Burgman yesterday which was great, to be able to see it size-wise - think I might just be ok! It was so gorgeous! Thanks again!

Congrats on your new ride! Watch those cagers...
duckscooter 3 years ago
Great video. The sliding windshield is awesome and the folding mirrors are too. Regarding the mirrors.....aren't they a little low? It looks like they'd be hard to see being right behind the grips.
JoeRnCT 3 years ago
Hi Joe - I have no problems with mirror blockage at all. They are quite a bit below the grips visually. I initially though they may be a problem, but now I like the location better than the "stem" mirrors on my V65. I do advise adding the blind spot mirrors.
duckscooter 3 years ago
Thanks for the info... Hope I can see that kind of mileage, as that's what I'm getting it for

Another Burgman owner on You Tube. Welcome. Love your Exec.
theSMYRNAcowboy 3 years ago
Thanks Smyrna! Yours is one of the videos I watched when I was researching the Burgman - thanks for the help! Haven't I seen your handle on the BurgmanUSA forum?
duckscooter 3 years ago
Yes. I've been lurking there since the summer of 2006. It's a GREAT info site.
theSMYRNAcowboy 3 years ago
btw, what kind of mileage do you get?
warrj7462 3 years ago
Hi Warrj - I get around 40 city, 50 highway.
duckscooter 3 years ago
This video was the most informative and helpful I have EVER seen! You sold this bike for me! I've been juggling between a motorcycle and this scooter for a while and you answered it with this! No question on which scooter I would get, have a Suzuki Zuma moped and it's the best moped money can buy, but it's time to upgrade to this guy... Thanks so much for an awesome video!
warrj7462 3 years ago
well I just remembered the zuma was a yamaha... Well screw it, I still love this scooter
warrj7462 3 years ago
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. it is very hard (as I am sure you know) find any good info on this bike and the silverwing.....happy trails
grantcvd 3 years ago
Hi - Glad it helped! I just noticed that I claimed that the left brake lever is the front brake - this is incorrect! Front brake on the right, rear on the left.
Sorry! (oops!)
duckscooter 3 years ago
For your first time vid you did an excellent
job describing your Burgman...I'm making plans to also purchase one and this vid was very helpful! Safe ridin'...
