the only reason that the liberty's tailgate window smashed is because theres a rear-mounted tire on the back which sticks out more than the bumper and therefore pushes into the tailgate. If you take off the tire and do the same test, nothing will happen as well...

ha i have a 2003 frontier crew cab and i backed into my sisters passat when she parket it right behind my garage and it practically tore the front fender off her car and didnt even scratch my bumper...thats some nissan durability!

Not really. The Liberty has a spare wheel mounted on the rear of the gate. Anyone dumb enough to back into a flat wall at any speed deserves what they get.

This test was originally designed to check damage if a car was rear ended at 5 mph. Because all cars have different heights they cheaped out and built a flat wall instead of an adjustable one to simulate hitting another car.
