i noticed something.... in the poster the mask in on the left side of his face, but in the movie it was on the right side of his face.... movie error much?
@ghitza2006 are u one of those people that are like fantasizing bout vampires and shot dude that's weak one the phantom of the opera had nothing to do with vampires two holy shit my generation has warped good vampire movies and legends into qraptastical shit fuck twilight fuck romanticism in vamp movies vampires are not supposed to be romantic they are about the blood and guts not glitter and abs with mushy shut arrgh god fuck u all
I love this theme! I think is just so romantic, so vampire-ish! He is so awsome and handsome and powerful, voice and man together, and she is so pure and divine.... and the rock guitar and the pipe-organ make their voices sound like celestial!
Emmy Rossum's voice sounds so pure even as an opera singer, she has a vocal quality and power almost equivalent to that of Hayley Westenra, I was so stunned cause I never knew Emmy was such a beautiful soprano singer. I love it. Very well done !
Considering the fact that Gerard Butler never sang before at the time the movie was being shot (to my knowledge), he did a pretty damn good job. Kudos to him and his sexiness <3
Tim Burton didn't write the music.... Danny Elfman did. Oh and btw he is extremely successful, not only has he written songs for many, many movies! He also writes all the music for The Simpsons.
@dudefreezone Lololol. You really mean to say that you think Tim Burt has no skill? That's why he is so successful that he can buy you, your family, and any of your friends that are as stupid as you and then some. Don't trash what you're jealous of.
@KionaHataka if u have the voice for it, its not hard to hit. the hard part is having the ability to go fairly low and high, im lucky enough to be a tenor 1 that can go low baritone
i saw this movie twice at the Theaters, i love it, a masterpeice, i saw the play too, but i didnt care for who played the phantom, and i dont mean Michael crawford, i have never seen him live
@WolframxYuuri95 ya i soo agree with u but like it so scary how like in the old versions of the phantom of the opera, the phantom always was made to look like the bad guy especialy in this one slauter version of this but anyway . ya sadly in the old versions they made him look like a bad guy but in this new version here with gered butler omg finally they didnt make the phantom look like the bad guy. n plus i think he doesnt look like the bad guy here cuse he's way to handsome to be hot lol
I love this song!!!! To me personally, this is the best song on the soundtrack!!!! Gerard Butler has a beautiful singing voice, and that's his real singing voice in the movie, but British opera singer Margaret Preece was "Carlotta's" singing voice.
@petermckracken Minnie Driver sang "Learn to be Lonely" at the end of the movie, but for the rest of the movie, Margaret Preece was still Carlotta's singing voice.
I'm laughing my ass off right now, because it gerared butler singing and he's supposivly a bad ass actor. What the hell i like him any way. And the girl is hot. And even though i saw the movie when i was only 10, and i saw the play when i turned twelve. I just like the idea he's a mysterious killer.
@BwookieT everyone has thier own opinion, i rather not hear michael crawfords cause his voice isnt manly enough for me, he just comes of a little more girly, not saying hes bad cause hes not, i just like deeper voice for men, not higher voices, but then again when i was in choir i was a bass, so yeah im all about the deeper voice
@GamingandMetal6 Haha, fair enough. I must admit I am a little biased, I've grown up admiring Michael Crawford as Frank Spencer and then Erik, so any song I hear him sing, sounds better than any other version I hear.
They could never be on broadway. They have alright voices.. Better than most.. (cept it gets put through filters and stuff). But never on broadway.. All so... WHY DID THEY CUT OUT PART OF THE SONG FOR THE MOVIE?!?!? "In all your fantasies, you always knew
@0123aria But she really couldn't, she has a pretty voice but it's not strong or full enough for a lead role on a stage.. She could at most have a supporting role but that would be pushing it.
@0123aria bahahahahahaha "don't judge" ?!?!?!?!?!?! Oh, you are hilarious. Hun, the whole entertainment world is about being judged. Don't tell me to do such frivolous things. I am not saying I am better than her. Because by George I am not. But I am sure if I had the same training as she did I would exceed far beyond her talent. Anyway, we are all entitled to our opinions. So let's leave it at I think she has some talent but no Broadway for her. And that you like her.
@personlalafa well you took it how you wanted. And no by all means the entertainment world is not about being judged. Its a yes or no. Simple as that. Same as if you ever went to a casting. Theyre not gonna waste their time saying: your too ugly or too pretty. Please take some time do do some research on stuff you want to point out to other people. But yea I guess we all have our opinion.
@CollideFan1 Well, that says something. if you have no experience with musicals, then of course this will be the only musical you like. And of course you'd consider Emmy's mediocre singing "angelic", typical of the common man who knows nothing of music
@WaxedLegs Sounds angelic to his/her ears. Is there a problem with that? That's the beauty of music: different voices, lyrics, melodies speak to different people (and in different ways). I don't understand people who want to rob music of that power by telling people they're stupid for thinking X, Y, or Z about a song or artist. It's very provincial.
@CanidaeCrazy phantom of the opera, at least the 2004 version, is a very commercial piece, very mainstream and appealing to the most superficial of senses. there's nothing wrong with liking it, but you should at the least recognize that its not good. kind of like a guilty pleasure. Especially because this movie was such a poor illustration of the novel and even musical, and the singers they chose are in fact not real singers, but actors.
@WaxedLegs So it's commercial. To each man his own. For someone knowledgeable in music and theater, I'd understand that certain versions seem superior and some mediocre, but that doesn't mean this version can't be enjoyable in its own right--agreed? No, you never said "stupid," but you were condescending in tone and I was likening that to that insult. And you're doing it again by saying this movie can only appeal to "superficial" senses. Even this version taps into deep emotion.
@CanidaeCrazy Already said that. the piece can be enjoyable, but one should be aware that its not good. I actually love this song, but the 2004 version is, while catchy, also trash.
I was only telling the guy the truth. He said it himself, that he doesn't like musicals, and while that's fine, he's obviously going to be criticized for his ignorance. in any case, by superficial i meant emotions that don't carry with you, make you think or move you. its catchy, simple and will touch you shallowly
This is definitely my favorite song from Phantom of the Opera, besides Music of the Night. My biggest dream is in fact to play Christine Daae. And I can actually hit that last note, but it sounds more like a dying scream from me, lol.
