  • this is so nice,,,,1001 nights....

  • this sounds irish!

  • It's amazing, especially 2:04 (rock)

  • This song actually took some thought and brains to write unlike the new music that is only synthesizers and warped voices. Its amazing that a man sat down and wrote this. No computers or playback software.

  • @kingtommaso Do you do any of both?

  • I love this piece. Played an arrangement of this in my band. Crazy fast haha. Great piece to listen to :)

  • @Swertzer Too true! Modern music burns brightly but quickly burns out. This music, however, lasts forever.

  • It's the Gargamel's theme in the Smurfs' animated cartoon!!!

  • @Gisso86 The Smurfs also contain fragments of Schubert's 6th Symphony and 3rd movement of Beethoven's sonata (not quite sure right now, either the Moonlight or Pathetietique - I watched Smurfs ages ago)

  • This old great classical music Never Die love it !!

  • Thank You for this. I am steadily learning of all the grand old masters and I SO ADORE the opportunity to hear them even in this venue. TY TY It's all sublime to me. Yes, I like Pop jazz and rock too.. BUT the Classics are, for me, the PREMIERE DESSERT...♥ The Best of the best...

  • i feel so bad for Scheherazade....

  • and this is not even the main theme.....

  • Not rdidculis attt alll. It just shows taht fokl aer fcukicn studip nowadyas.

  • Cor! That's good!

  • This is music. the others is just noise.

  • A great sailing ship is caught before a shrieking gale on a lee shore. Frantically the sailors work the sails as they desperately try to beat to windward and the open sea but the wind is too strong.

You hear the ship strike in the music. The agonies of the sinking as men struggle in the water, are all too clear.

You hear the ship disappear beneath the waves. Only Sinbad himself survives. Scheherazade keeps him so that the king be amused and herself alive for it is a story within another story

  • i think the violins in the beginning is the best part.Does anybody know a violin solo on the same cords as in the begin? by the way it is a masterpiece indeed!

  • I lift weights to this.

  • 9 minutes for the best part of the masterpiece

  • byandei257@comcast.net this would sell if you had some big fat ugly rapper put gangsta lyrics to it that is what the people want it is a sick fucking world out there and the gangstas took over the music business they should all croak

  • So this is the soundtrack to "One Thousand and One Nights" aka "Arabian Nights".

  • O_O he looks like Venustiano Carranza

  • very good perfprmance- what is the orchestra? the tempo is very fast , but perfect!!

  • Shit, it's Gargamel.

  • looking at the comments i feel... one should not be bothered about howmany people listen to great music as this.... well not everybody can appreciate a best brand of scotch whiskey or wine.... its the same...

  • Fantastic recording! The best I ever heard and played as orchestra-musician.

  • totally badass theme... :D

  • Am I the only one who always sings the main theme of this out loud in the room?

  • Grazie amici di internet deliziosa musica fantastica orchestra a me piace molto ascoltare buona musica, musica divina

un saluto da Trieste, Italia fulvio

  • Do you know when this was recorded? Or which Orchestra performed?

The tempo in this is so much faster than in other versions. I quite like it.

Did you manipulate this in any way?

Because if not, I want to find the full recording of this performance. It's divine.

  • That one disliker is an idiot.

  • Eventually, someone missed the button.

  • this may be one of the greatest songs i've ever heard

  • Beautiful romantic and dramatic music, something you never get tired of hearing.

  • I Love the dynamics.

  • Love it. Even better to listen to when you've played it...

  • Love it. Even better to listen to when you've played it...

  • Love it. Even better to listen to when you've played it...

  • This is the most beautiful piece I have ever heard.

  • Wonderful.

  • It's not surprising that this is the first video I have seen in a while with NO dislikes... funny that.. =D

  • Hey this is Gargamel's theme from The Smurfs!

  • I remember hearing this from "the Smurfs". For when Gargamel comes in...

  • its ridiculous that shitty pop songs have millions of views while a masterpiece like this has under 700...

  • @IronMaidenfan6 Good to see someone else who appreciates the original heavy metal gods (guys like this), and the new ones (points to your name).

  • @IronMaidenfan6

    One word....profit.

    1) Classical music can't be easily reproduced in front of a live audience of 10k, every other day for months on end.

    2) You can't sell products through classical music.

    3) You can't create an enjoyable piece of classical music in the span of a few weeks. (If I ever reach a state of desperation, I can probably crap a few catchy lyrics and make millions in the pop industry)

Classical music simply does not make money.

  • @stp52x Demand. People no longer demand classics such as this!

  • @iamalmightyme

Demand in the arts is manufactured. People are not born with a preference for Justin Bieber over Rimsky-Korsakov.

  • @stp52x Why don't you "crap out a few catchy lyrics" and make millions of dollars, and then use those millions of dollars to fund an orchestra that features a revolving-door lineup of musicians and tours worldwide? You could even get your orchestra to reproduce Lady Gaga songs and make even more money!

Most people are very complacent and don't give a fuck about self-discovery, much less discovering art that isn't fed to them and they genuinely enjoy.

  • @andygarcia69

    My point exactly

  • @IronMaidenfan6 I think it is not ridiculous... That shows us that only a few percent of the population, certainly use the brain.

  • @IronMaidenfan6 well now it has 30862, there is hope in this world

  • @IronMaidenfan6

But what makes us gain faith in the humanity again is the fact, that, this beautiful 'hunderd-years-old-music' still is listened by millions.

  • @IronMaidenfan6 it's not ridiculous, taht's life, people doesn't know this, taht's all, or don't like.

  • @IronMaidenfan6 Somebody , fast, give this guy a bear !

  • @IronMaidenfan6 meglio!

  • @IronMaidenfan6 It is because of ignorance my friend. People are satisfied with their lot because they don't know any better.

  • @IronMaidenfan6 9 months ago

  • @IronMaidenfan6 I swell with anger when I reflect on times when I didn't know such music as this even existed.

  • Such wonderful music...also brings back some good memories! It was played at our house many a time as it's one of my dad's favorites! Thanks for uploading!

  • Sounds so much like Jupiter by Gustav Holtz at parts.

  • His Beard wrote this

  • Bellissimo!!!!!!!!

  • now, make a dubstep remix....derp

  • put this on next time you loose your keys...guaranteed to help you find them!!!!

  • Fantastic!

  • I listened to this while cleaning my kitchen. Dishes became... equally as annoying to have to do, but I DID like the song.

  • BELLISSIMA!!!!!! GRAZIE!!!! CIAO...valerik88ify.
