  • I haven't seen many current FBBs with peaks as good as 0:50. Amazing that their diet probably consisted of slabs of beef and no supplements.

  • risque for back then - they would fit in today also

  • @realfunny7 Have seen a Youtube comment section or talk show on female bodybuiders? They still don't fit in that well. They get called freaks, "men", and all other kinds of insults by more than a few individuals.

  • @MuskelGrothe: only by small minded men or women - me i think they are sexy in their own way - not all but most - from the "tomboy" girl growing up until right now - i'm 62 & when i see the a girl that i went through school with at our reunions - yes she still flexes her right arm - small minds make a small world

  • Has anyone got the BBC 2 documentary called 'Blood Ties' about Vulcana shown in 2000 on VHS or DVD? If so please let me know.

  • @scar504 Would you consider 'Weak Man' to be one also?

  • @scar504 please be joking.

  • this was before McDonalds fucked t all up

  • Who is the lady at 214?

  • @allaroundtown Her Name is Kate Roberts also known as 'Vulcana'. She has a page on Wiki.

  • @Beerynose

If you want to know more about Vulcana there is an official Miriam Kate Roberts (Vulcana) page on Facebook called 'Atlas & Vulcana' tribute page!

  • There we only four pictures in the video of Vulcana. She's the pretty one!

  • Some Very Pretty Women Here.

  • Any idea who is the wrestler at 2:27?

    That is a devestating hold!

    arthie

  • does anyone know if she had a penis?

  • @nn11x3 no do you???

  • Who's the blonde at 1:48 bending the bar with her teeth?

  • @67nairb Hi sorry for the delay. The lady is Joan Rhodes who died this year. Her autobiography is worth a read. A very interesting lady RIP.

  • @Beerynose Check out one of Joan's stage routines. Type 'Joan Rhoes cabaret act'.

  • @Beerynose It's okay. How old was she?

  • @67nairb Joan was born in 1920. She was 90 when she died. The UK Times newspaper did a nice obituary for her. You can view it online.

  • what i find it creepy not the strongwomen but the idias of putting them in the circus like kind of monsters

  • @kassia911 I understand what you mean. Circuses would showcase anything out of the ordinary including extraordinary strength. But unlike for example, 'the pinheads' who had no choice but to perform, strongwomen entered circuses of their own free will. Females could earn good money and see the world without being dependant on anyone for support.

  • @jay4457 no you are not the only one that finds tis creepy!!!

  • @scooter2ish Again, why do you find it creepy?

  • Thanks for posting this excellent video.

  • am I the only person who finds this kind of creepy

  • @jay4457 Why do you find this creepy?

  • @jay4457 I hope so. I think it's awesome.

  • The music doesn't fit your slideshow.

  • @thatuniform The song is called Aerials. Some circus strongwomen were also trapeze artists. A tenuous link maybe but not totally unrelated!

  • @Beerynose Hmm... I didn't think of it that way. I just thought this was a random song. Okay, I take back what I said.

  • A bit of nostalgia for people!

  • Would have loved to watch them live!

  • More manly than most men these days!

  • wow at 0;50 she have icredible biceps, specialy left arm. great, natural and beauty. I love muscle women

  • i forgot this song name can anyone remind me please?

  • "Aerials" by System of a Down

  • Charmion-bangable

    Sandwina-bangable

    Vulcana-very bangable

Hermanas Rubio-bangable(hermanas rubio=sisters, wouldn't it be be 2 of them?; photo 20, in photo 23 there are two girls), no.31 is not charmion, it's sandwina, thanks for posting, have you heard about Aneta Florczyk or Skytriss? I like them most

  • 1:57...she is adorable...but she could throw me across the room!

  • @DantevKratos I think that's Joan Rhodes, a famous strongwoman of the 1950s.

  • 1:48...damn sexy...Bet she can't lift me like that. :D Lol. 1:49....sexiest girl in the video...yummy.

  • Thunder Thighs!!!!

  • some of those women look bangable

  • women were much stronger in the past, they worked hard physical work and didnt need any steroids or other shit. just work and natural food..

  • @boobmasteris lol its hardly something defined by age. its the choice of lifestyle by the individual. there have been men and women throughout all of history who have had no need to dally in physical work, and today there is plenty of women who do hard physical work.

  • this video had me mesmerized from the start. i have never seen classic pics of women's physical culture. after seeing the square jawed, husky voiced, spray tanned chemical monsters of today, this was really a treat. i love the old philosophy of earning your power through pure training without the alphabet of steroids and hgh. great video!

  • Thank you for the comment. Yes, female strength has come a long way. Some might say the wrong way! But i do know some strong old school women that train without drugs. Hard earned strength is the strength that lasts.

  • Can't say about the others (they might just be bulked-up bodybuilders), but Joan Rhodes, seen briefly at 1.50, was freakishly strong. She did a cabaret act which my father saw back in the 50s, she could break 6 inch nails with just her hands and once pulled a car to pieces live on UK TV.

  • notice anything about these women vs. the "strong women" of today? These girls still looked like WOMEN, still had feminine faces and bodies, not like today, where they have no boobs and look like ME when i first wake up in the morning.

  • woman at 53 ' incredible biceps

  • No Mildred Burke?

The first Time I saw Mildred Burke doing a double bicep pose, I had to Run straight Home and (Whack) I mean get some sleep!!!!

  • Mildred was a very accomplished athlete and should have been in the list. Although as a woman myself i couldn't comment on the last part of your post!

  • The first time I saw Mildred Burke and those incredible flexed double biceps, I didn't make it home, just made a mess right there.

  • bit slow wicked pics what is the tune

  • Thank you. The song is called Aerials by System of a Down.

  • OK: You're Scissy Spacek's MOM from the movie

"CAREY' "You Never Did It" "NEVER DID IT"""

  • I never did it!

  • who are these women?....???

  • I have put a preliminary list in the info box above. I will add the missing names as i find them. Thank you for your interest.

  • dude these women are simply legendary!

  • holy crap i read about kate roberts i think was it .......any way i read that she competed against Eugene Sandow in one amazing feat of pressing a weight of 300lbs over her head and Sandow could only pull it up to his chest. omg she beat sandow!!!

  • That was Kate Brumbach (Sandwina) she took the stage name after beating Sandow. I have mentioned her to a few Sandow fans but they just turned their noses up. She was a fantastically strong woman. Charmion is my favorite because she had a fantastic physique. Edison filmed her amusing strip tease act (see video response above).

  • Thank you.

  • Excellent slideshow.
