82-year old man Set New World Record in Lifting, Dan Takeuchi

Bunch of us guys met Dan about 20 years ago at the Fresno YMCA. While we played "hoops", Dan was in the gym. Between our games we would take a look at Dan and his buddies pushing the iron. Impressive.  Rest in Peace Dan. The master is now with the Master.

I lived in Fresno in the early 2000's and trained with Dan for about a year at the Fresno "Y". He was one of the nicest people I have ever met, and he was an awe inspiring lifter. He was extremely patient with me when I was learning, and I thought of him often over the years when i moved away. He will be missed greatly.

Awesome! A majority of men fifty or sixty years younger than him would probably hurt themselves even trying to lift this weight!
