  • In my country Nigeria, Yemoja is still worshipped by the Yoruba nation of western Nigeria.

The Yoruba nation spans from the hinterlands of Oyo and Ile Ife to the coastlines of the atlantic ocean all the way to the country formerly known as Dahomey (now Benin republic).

Orisha is also a word that could mean diety.

Yemoja is a sort of Orisha.

The Yoruba language is spoken by millions of Nigerians and citizens of Republic du Benin.

In Nigeria, you can still see old Portugese architecture.

  • Wow, the Yoruba language survived hundreds of years of slavery.

The woman is singing about the God of the river or something to that effect, its still the same language

  • She is singing to Yemaya. Godess of the ocean.
