Jared was never happy with how he acted on the show. He feels his acting was awful compared to the other actors, and I think he's embarrassed by it to this day. He did ackowledge the show was great, but not because of him.

I think Jared hates to have taken the "easy" role of the hot, dim-witted guy. It's not exactly a challenging role and he seems to like more... idk, roles where he gets hurt or isn't the romantic focus. He seems to disdain that.

He actually does mention it very often whenever they interview him about his acting career. he always says that remembering his work in My So-Called Life feels like looking back at his school yearbook for some reason, and he's very grateful for it.

Yeah, he seems like a moody artist, sometimes okay with it, sometimes hating it. I wonder if that's why he tries to make his "look" completely different from Jordan Catalano, though sadly that's his best "natural" look but he looks good now, just in a different way. No offense if you like it, but I prefer a more natural look.
