  • Absolutely loved this band growing up, but still to this day, I don't know why I stopped listening to them until this moment.

  • that song is fucking massive. sounds like the jesus lizard and Last Crack. Will definitely check out some more stuff of theirs...

  • she ,he or shim? black lezzos sing pretty sweet,im not homophobic however...

just like picking on poojabbers and rug munchers lol

  • its either awesome, or annoying as fuck. havent decided yet...

  • saw these in Roundhay Park in '96. thuckin brilliant

  • ourBestMusicChanel: That's one of many reasons why I no longer have anything to do with such people......i can't tolerate such......intolerance.

  • She's Valkyrie....love her...

  • Great, great band!!!!

  • Viva zwei rocks! SA as well !!!

  • I just love em!! Skunk Anansie ... RAWK ON!!!!

  • Skunk anansie!!! 4ever

  • I remember REALLY liking this band back in the late 90's but none of my so-called "friends" did. The reason these idiots didn't like the band? Because Skin is black and a lesbian. What racist homophobic pricks I have been surrounded by!

  • @eibon81

this is why we can have at most 2-3 friends in our lifetime. When people say they have 50-100 or 500 friends it's actually just "people they know". The sentence "i have lot of friends" is just an oxymoron

  • @eibon81 , yeah what pricks being racist and homophobic about the christophobe

  • In this vid she looks like Waylon from Mushroomhead :P

  • Jeez Skin scares me .. but in a good sexy way :-?

  • Mais atual que nunca

  • Na jednym z ekranów w tle teleexpresu:)

  • Raw. Definitely a fave.

  • Lowlands 2011 im ther i ghonne see this i ghonne lofe this i ghonne smoke on this boem

  • this song is actually from a movie about the end of the world as we know it in Los Angeles (City of Angel-less). The movie has Angela Bassett and Ralph Fiennes. Storyline is kind of "blah", but the soundtrack was cool. "They want your soul, and your money, blood and your bones."

  • @LiquidMuse360 The movie is called Strange Days, Pretty good movie too

  • @LiquidMuse360 Strange Days was not about the end of the world. It was about the millinieum and technology

  • The Pope controls all the world. Politicians use religion to manipulate people. There has yet to be a major non-theist politician ( except for Iceland's premier who is a lesbian and I don't think she's that religious, but then again Iceland is an intelligent country). Wars on Middle east done for religion. Americans believe the devil is there,Muslims believe the devil is America. The Priests of my country own all the coastal hotels.People need to wake up and realize that God is Dead,we killed him

  • @AbsurdityofExistence The Prime Minister of Australia is a self declared atheist.

  • @s4145103 Excellent :))

  • @s4145103

NO ONE in America could become a city counil person if their an open athiest, its pathetic.

  • @PylonOvBlack they're...

  • @PylonOvBlack , all the American Atheists association ever does is file lawsuits. It also didnt help their case when three members extorted half a million dollars, then later were robbed and murdered by an American Atheists employee. Classy bunch!

  • @PylonOvBlack , and yeah i guess they cant be a council person... only a founding father or early US president

  • @AbsurdityofExistence Ekhm,,, JP II didn't want war on Middle east, so maybe Pope doesn't control all the world:)

  • OMFG. I am so pissed I never heard about this song until watching Strange Days. This shit right here, homie...this shit right here!

Skin is like Grace Jones and David Draiman had a baby. I LOVE HER! O_O

  • this song is still amazing.

  • Wonderful song - no less meaningful, today, than around 1995, when it appeared on the Strange Days soundtrack. Crucial is a word of a few meanings ><

  • sin i love you ^^ :D

  • @zoist80 s'okay, she wouldn't hit you either. bro.

  • That kind of god is always man-made

They made him up then wrote a book to keep you on your kness

They get their theories from the same place

Then build a church if there's some money left

    From lying on the beach

..well that´s the true that most of people can eat us alive if we challegend them ..could be fear or less brains!

  • tea baggers ain't flee baggers ...libs are not metal .........fag

  • WAKE UP THE MASONS. There's only a handful of 'others'.

  • this isn't about religion, so much as SELLING religion. which is highly reprehensible

  • SImply one of the best songs ever. Not so much a put down on Christianity as it is a put down to those that pimp it (Evangelicals, Right Wingers, Tea baggers, etc). The video imagery put it into perspective (dirty redneck trucker, stars and bars, with christian idols adorning the truck cabin and a pregnant back woman). I love the hypocrisy.

  • Feel sorry for those that believe this because of the crookedness of Christendom. Sorry you all feel this way, but people have done terrible injustices that God would never condone.

  • Dudes, If grunge wasn't considered lame to do, I would totally start a grunge band. It's not like I want to get mainstream, but i don't know anyone who likes grunge the way I do.

Skin has such good bone structure

  • LOVE it, the cross is greaty, but when there is a man on the front of it, its an IDOL

  • This song kicks fucking ASS!

  • Comment removed

  • and the hypocrisy of people who preach and say that they're religious when they clearly know nothing about true forgiveness and religion.

  • this song isn't about believing in god, it's about the way that jesus/god/the virgin mary have been turned into a commodity. in my opinion as a big skunk anansie fan, anyway.

  • Prodigy - Serial Killer (Fat Of The Land, 1997) ;)

  • I don't see the purpose of people jabbering on about religion incessantly.

Neither side is gonna make any headway.

It’s kinda retarded how y’all keep coming back just to keep responding.

why not just crank the music and engage in some good old fashioned slam dancing like we used to do to this song?

  • listen to Nuances_Slide in my soul

  • "When the Son of Man returns, many will say to me 'Lord, Lord, in your name did we not prophecise, heal the sick and drive out demons from people?' And I will say to them 'I have never known you! Get away from me, you evil people!" - Jesus.

  • I used to have this song in my stereos as wake-up music. Poor neighbours....

  • i wish there were still talented artists like this in london unlike the shower of shit today.

  • Talented and intelegent artists are not imune to the stereotypeing. It is much easyer to proclaim indictements out of superficial, half-baked insights than to actualy explore what 2 millenia of Christianity is about.

I enjoy Skunk Anansie, lirically and stilistically, but in this song they have succumbed to a kind of biggotry they themselves condem.

  • @Ciranoxx1 What a pseudo-intellectal comment. Not to mention, half of it is misspelled.

  • @HARVARDfresh - you back here quoting Gordon Wood again?

  • @Ciranoxx1 it's because most Christian leaders and teachers have misrepresented Jesus Christ, they are not saying *all* Christians are bad, because they're not. I'm a Christian myself and I'm not offended by this song. Believe me, I've met the sort of people that are portrayed in this song and they're not pretty.

  • @fatpizzaman I hope you're right as to SA's intentions. It is difficult, however, in high-energy music to make effective differentiations like the one you propose - there is to much collateral damage and artist should be aware of it. Perhaps a sequel to the song would be in order: "Selling militant atheism" ;-)

  • "Children have imaginary friends, adults have god."

  • energy ! ! !

  • damn, blow me away!!!! the truth is in your face, open your eyes or be a blind sheep, freewill and all that, powerful shit,ty for vid ;D

  • i met her in candy bar, lesbian bar in london.

  • Now that this election is over I feel like blaring this song every chance I get...

  • sigh...whatever dude if you have to win by putting words in other peoples mouths...fine.

  • This is my favourite Skunk Anansie song! It is so powerful and the message is clear! Wonderful! X

  • k last thing i intended to do was to start a fight regarding race. I've never heard her speak, Just sing. And agreed most likely it was little Richard. But the VAST majority of Black performers these days seem to lean towards rap and hip hop more than rock, which I'm not a fan of. So when groups like Living Colour, Skunk Anansie, Se7endust or Staggered crossing come along, it gets my attention because I know this is gonna be amazing.

  • @Firesong01 There isn't a race fight. Just giving you facts. First thing you say is you don't like rap or hip hop. HIP HOP IS MADE MAJORITY OF WHAT RACE?? Right there is like a shot. Basically saying you don't like black music. 2nd, black musicians started rock n roll. Yeah these days there aren't a lot of black performers in rock n roll. BUT YOU CAN'T FORGET ABOUT HOW ROCK N ROLL GOT STARTED, better yet the majority of black rock n roll musicians in the 50's n 60's.

  • @Firesong01 I'm not saying these things just because im black. I'm saying these things because they're factual and THE TRUTH. How you think hip hop got started?? Black musicians were edged out of rock n roll based on the racism in those days. Then black musicians created hip hop which lucky they haven't even been close to getting edged out. Just because you don't see a lot of black musicians in rock doesn't mean it should be shock since we created it from jump. But thats your opinion

  • I'd like to see Skunk Anansie sometime.

Oh yeah. Rock it, Skin & Co!

This was the first Skunk Anansie song I ever heard. on the radio! NYC.

  • I'd like to see Skunk Anansie sometime.

Oh yeah. Rock it, Skin & Co!

  • her heads freaking me out

  • kinda weird but cool

  • /../

  • Strange Days!!!!!

  • I couldn't help but be moved, looking back as a white man in Japan at a black, fellow British woman emblazoned with a white cross, decrying against the Cross in age angled against Islam, ending with cries about love.

  • Does anyone else get remined of the Magnum theme tune?

  • I love this song! Skunk Anansie rock! X

  • never been a fan of hip hop or rap, but when you see an african american lend their voice to rock music HOLY shit it never ceases to blow me away, POWERFULL set of longs on her. groups like staggered crossing, sevendust, Skunk anansie, and living colour...all top notch bands LIGHTYEARS ahead of their time!!!!!

  • @Firesong01

African American? skin is British and black

  • @Firesong01 Lend their voice, you forget that black musicians were the starters of rock n roll. You say lend like it isn't normal for black people to do rock n roll.

  • @Slimkidd730 Sorry to butt into this conversation but I really do have to put my 2 cents into this, putting the fact aside that black people started rock, it isn't the norm for black people to 'do rock n roll', we do tend to lean towards the urban genre (as firesong01 rightly said) The no. speaks for itself. But dont misconstrue what I am saying, I'm not claiming there are NO black people in it, just a v. small minority compared to other genres :) Anyway rock on Skunk Anansie!

  • @Duck1eRhys Of course thats the truth. But if you look at the timeline it didn't go that way by choice. Black musicians got edged out in rock n roll based on racism and rock n roll started to change when more and more white musicians came in. Not saying that you had to be black to DO ROCK N ROLL back in those days, but black musicians were tired of it. You think its a coincidence that hip hop got started??? No, black musicians just created a different genre of music.

  • @Slimkidd730

im half white and black so , w/e no one cares...why dont you lick some cock while blasting this song and remind yourself why youre just a blow hard youtube comment sufferer instead of a violin virtuoso or i dunno a bald black punk rock chick rocking the fuck out LOOZERORZ

  • @epiksonik Oh, your someone who doesn't care about facts. Just lives there life being misinformed. Ok.....and your insults suck. lol! I don't have to insult you back since you've already showed that you caught feelings and put your heart into it INSTEAD OF USING YOUR BRAIN. You didn't add anything to the topic but an insult.....an insult. lol! You have no argument but to get mad. Thats called a temper tantrum, you know those things called when a lil kid can't have his or her way. Your irrelevant

  • @Slimkidd730

    *burp*

    huh?

  • @Firesong01 little richard invented rock n roll if anybody did

  • This song and Charity made me see for what they are the homeless handouts who make alot of money, and give you stale sandwiches in Birmingham. It gave me impetus to question them and they tried to lie and say it is all charity. When I know Birmingham City Mission make £400,000 profit a year and that was in 2002 when I had access to records.

  • I typed random words into the search box and this is what I found. How freakin' awesome is this!

  • I love how they use no poetic thought at all into lyrics, just straight saying it. That's punk.

  • simply awesome

  • who are the 24 idiots who thumbs down this?!

  • Just perfect!

  • Want to make one more comment - I'm still utterly blown away, speechless really, at how both righteously savage and intelligent this song is, it's like the perfect mix. I wish more women embodied the sheer POWER, smarts, and yes, balls - of Skin - I see this as true femininity. Not this fetid, empty, soulless Cosmopolitan fucking shit - we're talking Amazonian woman style here folks. Makes me very happy.

  • @Scratch47 YES SHE'S A FUCKING AMAZON!! lol - sorry couldn't restrain myself, but she's pretty revolutionary in my opinion :D

  • good song i play this every christmas

  • This is my favourite Skunk Anansie song! Love the lyrics, love the riffs, love the noise ... well, I love it!

  • Skunk Anansie The Best!

  • Comment removed

  • i like the song im religuos i have intelligence my mom luvs the song!!!lols

  • This is the real theme. Fuck church, the faith must be in your soul. Next in my personal anti-church playlist, straight after When I Get To Heaven by Ice Cube.

  • this band was fucking epic

  • Lol; this is silly to me (the group and her image. She is beautiful and has a wonderful voice; I just don't like the presentation). HOWEVER, I looked up the lyrics to this particular song,"Selling Jesus", and completely think I understand the concept of the lyrics--that is, if the message is that most religious factions are all about propaganda--if so, then I think the lyrics are on point.

  • is she saying blood and you bones or blood and your votes

  • @chaoarecool VOTES

  • @chaoarecool votes.

  • thats right. theyre selling jesus (again). how more straight can be?

  • yaaaaaaaay

  • God I miss the 90's

  • such an amazing powerful vocals.cool song

  • well, this is special for the protestants and evangelisticals jejeje "their selling jesus" jejeje sad but truth

  • everyone is selling this or that jesus today...sad but true...

  • one of the best british bands, what happened to these guys?

  • They decided to get back together last year to put out a greatest hits album and a new one too. woot

  • they got back together and realised a new album, one of the songs is called Because Of You. Its great.

  • Chilling This ALWAYS makes the hairs..

  • Haha apologies to all my old neighbours who HATED this song. Just impossible to listen to quietly and without jumping about like a nutter.

  • epic.

  • Saw them in Amsterdam... Probably one of the best concerts in my life.... (and I've seen quite a few;-)

  • Fuckin amazing! Slill

  • Wow, this is a great video! 10/10

  • this song couldn't be anything less than the truth...especially now

    - how tragic real music artists and creative genius is traded for mass produced lip-synching talentless puppets

"The world holds two classes of men - intelligent men without religion, and religious men without intelligence."

    -- Abu Ala Al-Ma'arri

  • @MACABREMARIPOSA lamo :-) This world has two more kids of men - deceived, those who seek the truth. You choose which one you belong to. What you choose you will get.

I believe in God. I am Orthodox. No one is selling Jesus to me. Orthodox beliefs aren't tainted by the greedy, half-baked western man. You pray, and God answers. Its simple.

"You cant make maps until you walk their roads"; "There is only one way that leads to God, and there are many roads that lead to that road"

    -Me

  • @TheBladeEdge the irony of those who support religion esp those that say they follow jesus is how they take away balance and free will and live for creations rather than going within. The Vatican changed the message of many of those that came to remind humanity who they are.

  • @MACABREMARIPOSA thats because intelligent men relize they dont need religion.

  • @MACABREMARIPOSA and maybe being inteliigent withour religion can brings us some problems cause the majority men are the religious without intelligence! very dangerous people very very ...

  • @MACABREMARIPOSA And intelligent men WITH religion.

    Issac Newton anybody?

  • @Mr11MUSICMAN closet deist, he din't really follow any organized religion.

  • @redhawk239 Yes he did.

  • @MACABREMARIPOSA Dude, she's talking about politicians usurping the image of Christ to further their own ends. About how they're saying Jesus, then doing the work of the devil. About their hypocrisy, and the fact that they have no genuine faith. Personally I think there are four classes of men. Their opposites and the two you mentioned. As evidenced by our two comments.

  • @Diogogiglio: I'd put it this way: sick lyrics, great song.

  • Me too, i was there!!!!! it was....perfect! canT explain....:D

  • Yes, they`re selling Jesus...they`re selling their souls!!
