  • i love this video but i still you my very old cingular cingular blackjack

  • all phones do taht, it's not the network, and it doesn't damage speakers or anything.

  • What kind of bull shit is this

  • fortunately, on HSDPA through them, this doesn't happen - only when it drops to edge.

  • Hey, where did you get that sound clip from the RF Interference? I'd like to have it, for i can't seem to find it on the interwebs :(

  • so sad

  • This video rules the world!

  • lol

  • i just got a new AT&t phone and it never makes that noise

  • rock on.

brought to you by peep fabulous.

all rights incorporated into my brain.

  • GSM phones that are too close to speakers that are not properly shielded to US Standards will make that annoying noise. I am an American living in the UK and my Vodafone does that all the time since I have American Speakers. If you dont like it get a CDMA phone you know Verizon or Sprint. Or just wait for LTE to come out.

  • It's not the PHONE that makes the noise, but rather the sensitive electronics AROUND the phone.

  • Watch the video "Cellphone Speaker Buzz Solution" its about a product that gets rid of that annoying buzzing completly...it seriously works!

  • umm.ok?

  • -

    god! so true...

  • Congrats! Your story was on BusinessWeek. Good job!

  • GREAT video! Bravo; well done.

  • so true... i hate that ticking sound... i actually have my phone and my hubbys phone sitting beside me and i had to check if it was our phone... then i figured out it was actually on the music video

  • Ya that's noise is so true.

In our final exams the exam proctor had a GSM phone and it kept buzzing like that through the Gym speakers.

It was really distracting, and I don't think he realized it was him either. At least the speakers didn't blow up.

  • What a cool video. Sad but true. I switched to ATT to get an iPhone. Now I have to deal with that annoying noise all the time. Thanks for bringing awareness to their knowledge of the issue. I think it's lame that they blow people off and make them pay a termination fee if becomes a problem. P.S., I'm glad you didn't take the stinkin' speakers.

  • No, they offered to buy him a speaker. I personally know the man who was a VP at AT&T at the time and he offered to buy him a set of speakers, but the guy turned down the offer. You can read more about it in a business week article on their website called Consumer Vigilantes. This guy's story is on page 3.

  • read on msnbc that the guy had his speakers on MAX volume when that happened. 1) This inerference happens with any cell phone carrier 2) Do you need to be warned? I don't think Cingulair should have to predict every possible problem for you and warn you about it. Next time don't have your set on max volume and that probably won't happen. Lame video, why should he deserve special treatment cause he set up his set to be blown out? I read the Execs bought him a speaker

  • I am still fighting ATT for a bill they say I owe from 1999. They have turned it over to a collection agency and when I called ATT they say since it has been so long they can not provide any paperwork. They are scumbags and I refuse to pay for service I never had.

  • Yes.. and this very phenom will also cause some corded land line phones to hang up while is a call and fry the keypad. I learned this lesson the hard way by losing the use of an RCA 2 line business phone. The store i bought it from would not exchange it.. so I bought another one and.... hehehehe u know :)

  • Weird, I never knew this was such an issue. I always know when I'm gonna get a call because my speakers make that same noise. They also pick up some CB-Radio transmissions too, so I always thought it was just me. Good to know!

Oh, and yeah, Cingular/AT&T sucks when you have their Samsung phones. I have a Motorola now and the service is much better now.

  • that is not cingular's fault. Those phones are Part 15 products under the FCC where as companies can get products marked that way so if interference happens like that it is up to the consumer to fix it, not the handset maker, in this case looks like Motorola

  • lol the phone there using is the same as mine!

  • Dude, AT&T sucks almost as bad as Fox. Censoring Vetter was wrong just like censoring Ron Paul. Ron Paul deserves to debate and you deserve a new speaker!!!

  • iphone unlocking is good... :P

  • Get an sidekick LX like me. so you do no have to deal with iCrap

  • I got a iPhone. The second day we got it

  • Just get a CDMA phone (Verizon, Sprint, Alltel) and you'll never have that buzz ever again!!!!

  • Lmfao, whenever someone texts/calls me. My speakers make that funky sound. xD;;

  • when it made that tapping noise at the begenning i thought it was my phone. Haha

  • lmfao i thought it was mine to till i read your comment!

  • OMG Im gonna cry

  • You know for someone clearly adept w/ computers, you seem pretty surprised that interference can cause dmg to equipment.

  • that made me a little sad, but i don't have cingular so im fine

  • I laughed 'till I cried and I cried 'till I laughed!

  • i never knew that... and I thought nextel was bad with that shit. I just thought it was annoying

  • yeah very arty animations! i like em. and sometimes the voice sounds like trent raznor's - don'T know if spelling is right(nine inch nails) exept the tuning ;)

  • real funny the speaker in my class at school did that and the teacher was pissed cuz we were watching a movie lol

  • LoL that was funny. Nize work i want that song now lol

  • so that's why my speakers are f*ked up

    o_0

  • this guy is an idiot his speaker level had to be very high for that noise to blow his speaker and it obviously had done it before so why set your phone next to speaker again IDIOT LOL i am glad your speaker blew

  • I was at a concert once near a speaker and that sound cut the music off and pissed off the band. Hahahahah.....great video.

  • its a joke vid its meant to be funny duh

  • no you are the idiot. Why should you not be allowed to run your speakers at whatever volume you want , just because you happen to use cingular which is the only co. so far to send this rf frequency out when a call is picked up?

The guy works in the music and video field and happens to use his speakers, so what.If my amp sp[eaker blew for my guitar because of it I'd be even more pissed. Am I stupid for having it loud?

  • then why do you come back an watch the video. Cause ur a tool and can't get enough.....if u think its stupid....DON'T COME BACK....but tell ur friends about the video....

  • how do u do it??

  • nice animation

    A+++++

  • ever notice that your phone will make other speakers quack but the internal phone speakers are always okay?

    -KEVIN_

  • is that song a real song and where can i get it?

  • It's Cingular, not Siyngular, dolts.

  • u are 100% tool

  • why did he blow up his other speaker at the end? hes just wastin money i guesse

  • No they were mated for life and he put him out of his misery! most computer speakers are joined!

  • That was some funny shit. Holy crap that must have taken a lot of work, instead of just taking the low road and posting your costumer service calls. Great job.

  • i didnt really get it...but i can tell alot of work was put into this so yeah well done for that part! =P

  • lol, I used to work for Cingular and Nextel. They both do it because of the frequency on the 850/1900 and 1800/900 mhz. It does not destroy any equipment, but it is rather annoying. One good thing is that you get a warning before your phone goes off. ^^

    Great Video by the way!

  • uhm.. yes it can destroy speakers. Yopu must not have been a tech if you worked there. Crank your speakers way up and try it. Go ahead.

Why do you think the video was made? because Cingular/ATT wouyldn't do a thing to reimburse the damages. Read about it at consumer reports.

  • dude, that noise is totally the cingular/att noise! i got the ringtone of the noise from yer site. thnx so much!

holy-killer-whale below, yer whacked if you think it's verizon.

man, i hate that noise. your vid is great. the iphone is gonna bite. screw att. they can keep their 2-year time-release non-3g $500 suppository and put it next to the lack of sunshine from the lying att costumer service reps.

  • Wow, never had a problem with Cingluar (the new at&t) and I have my phone right here. It's Verizon that gave me problems.

  • Man, that was funny!!!!

  • thats is sooo funny.

  • Great!!! We are watching this as we work at Cingular (the new ATT)

  • this is soooo funny! great job! what is up with ATT blowing this guy off?! they should completely tell people about this problem. i can't believe it blew your speaker, that's so whacked. they can take their iphone and shove it up their apple.

  • Heard the interference in this vid and thought I left my cell phone on or somehow the interference was coming over my laptop now. Nearly gave me a heart attack. Why do we have such shitty cell service and phones here in the US anyway? It's much better in many other countries.

  • yaay!! cingular raisin the bar!!!

    cause u know... customer rules!!

  • Nice job!

  • hahahahahaha so funny and true....hahahahahahahaha. when i first started the vid. I thought i was getting a call. I looked at my phone and nothing. haha good one. I like the evil jack.

  • wow. this is excellent. well done!

  • Feeling Cingular? Oh yeah and you ARE BEING SPIED ON BY AT&T who is in with the Government..Yes, they are a part of the illegal spying going on in America. Do you honestly believe that is for terror? See my video on AT&T spying and see for yourself!

  • I like the vid. Jack makes a cool supervillan, but am still happy with Cingular ;)
