  • What are the Peter Lorre films at 0:46 & 1:21? I'm looking for more films of his and I just really like his facial expression in these

  • @ZZTopRockman They're both from the film "Crack Up"

  • i'm back! still my favorite halloween go to vid thanx again...

great clips, great music...captures the classic horror moments by the best of the best!

  • When it comes to Movie Villains, there's these 3 & there's everybody else. Why? I don't know, Lorre had 1 really great villain, Lugosi had 4 or 5, Karloff had about a million. Maybe it's because unlike today's 'pretty young things,' all 3 of these men really LIVED before they became successful. Looking at their bio's, all of them really built themselves from nothing & worked for it. They knew what failure, drudgery & starvation felt like.

Maybe that's why they were great.

    Thank you.

  • My absolute, alltime favourites! Shame they don't make them like this anymore

  • LOVE THE SONG!!! LOVED THE MAN!! PS LOVED THEM ALL!!

  • LOVE THE SONG!!! LOVED THE MAN!!

  • It's been 3 years since I saw this tribute, and I still love to watch it.

  • This was freakin awsome!!!! I love these 3 actors too.. =D. the song goes perfect with it.

  • still love this!

  • EPIC YES! My favorite song with three of cinema's greatest horror actors. I'm SO glad that you included clips from "M" in this, too. Well done, Mariah. Well done. ^_^

  • All the new horror films are more focused on the blood and guts than the psychological terror these guys gave. Bring back real actors like them! No actor today has the eyes the Terrifying Trio had, or their ability to appear innocently debonair just before they turn.

  • I mention Lorre, Lugosi, and other stars in The Celebrity Song.

  • Great clips and nicely done...love that one shot of Lorre..had he'd been born later..he could have been an anti-hero romantic lead. What a great montage!

  • Anyone know where the Peter Lorre tribute to Notorious went? I didn't think it was excellent, but I want to see it again for the song! I can't remember it's proper name. Everytime I watch this video I enjoy it more, because I am recognising more and more of the clips because I've seen more and more of their films!

  • Bela Legosi - to this day the most impressive Dracula ever!

    Very nice vid!

  • boris karloffs charactor bateman in the raven was always my favorite

  • JackBenny you nailed it. This has been in my favorites for over a year.

  • Thanks for the nice comment! My real name's Mariah by the way :)

  • Great work; love those guys

  • Perfect! Why the red box?? I love it and think it's great that it's in time with the music and all!

  • whatever happened to good actors ?

  • @ThRatpack They were replaced by marginal semblances thereof...... I fear acting has become something less than what it was.

  • add to that ThRatpack..

a line from sunset boulevard by gloria swanson,

"We didn't need dialogue - we had faces.."

    ;)

today everyone is so predictable in looks AND performance - no character in either realm.

  • @ThRatpack holly wood stopped hiring them and instead hired actors that girls wuld scream for

  • oh i love the song oh yes i do! but u wasted it! if u mind can u make a tribute to peter lorre with the same song! oh god please PLEASE i would be so great full!

  • Love the characters but hate the music lol

    "undead,undead,undead" :)

  • Reminds me of last summer's black and white horror movie binge.

  • brilliant!

  • These three were amazing. The only film that had all three of them was YOU'LL FIND OUT. Scenes of this were shown several times in this tribute.

  • Great video. Three of the greatest villains. I am a fan of all three..plus I would add Vincent Price to my list.

  • really great tribute :D unfortunate I haven't seen as any movies with peter lorre that I want to. Which do you think is his best movies (ecxept M).

  • This video is a masterpiece. Brava! *****

  • What's the movie at 2:03? Wonderful tribute by the way.

  • Black Friday (1940) It starred both Lugosi and Karloff...really amazing movie!

  • because of this video i had the opportunity to compare their height differences specially that of boris and bela (important for my classic monster monster illustration).

  • Just watched again!! Love it so much!! *****

What's the clip of Bela Lugosi on 3:29 from, if I might ask? Thanks!

  • It's from THE BLACK CAT

  • Thanks for posting such a damn awesome video!

  • I didn't think I would like this video just cause I didn't think this song and the clips would work... But I was wrong, huh?

What movie is :54 with Bela from? Looks like he's gonna smother her for denying him his morphine (sorry, bad taste?)

  • I think it's about time I commented on my absolute favorite tribute EVER. What can I say? I love it to death! Thanks so much!

I think I'd give this 1000 stars if I could. *hats off to you, Lorre, Lugosi, and Karloff*

What's the clip of Bela on 0:42 from? And the very last clip, too, with all of them? Thanks!

  • Thanks for the comment. The clip of Bela that you mentioned is from the film "Postal Inspector" and the last clip with all three gents is from the film "You'll Find Out." That's the most common question I'm asked. Again, I repeat for all you horror fans, the film with all 3 legends is called YOU'LL FIND OUT

  • Love them all. Lugosi's 'White Zombie' is probably my favorite film showcasing his acting talents; an amazing piece of acting by Bela.

  • Very cool video. Great choices and editing of clips. Really makes you see all over again how special those actors were. Thanks.

  • That's from the film "Island of Doomed Men"

  • sorry for another comment!! but wat movie is 2:36!!!!!!?????/? is tht lugosi!!!!?????its been aggrivating me!!

  • Are you talking about the eyes? Those are Lugosi's eyes, from the film "The Raven." 2:36 is Peter Lorre walking up the stairs from "Stranger on the Third Floor"

  • OMG!! look at 2:12!!!!!he looks scary and totally differentt!!!!

  • ha i thinks its funny how u put this totaly different song from wat they listened to and then theses classics actors!!!! thank u 4 posting!!!!!

  • Would you be kind enough to tell me what movie clip is on 01:26?

  • It's from "You'll Find Out"

  • Thanx so much, I really need to see that movie! DEPRIVED! haha! Thanx again!

  • Really cool vid! You really have a knack for picking THE most gorgeous clips!

Btw, can you please tell me what movie does 01:10 come from? Tks!

  • That's from the film "Stranger On the Third Floor"

  • Class!!

  • Wow! Awesome! Love all the old Universal monsters - have to make one myself now! LOL :)))))))))

  • I'm going to be dead honest here- I seriously can not go to bed without watching this- I have actually gotten withdrawl symptomes! This is like my cocaine from Youtube. The head-banging music of THREE DAYS GRACE paired with clips from the greatest spine tingling actors of all time. Words can not describe how this video moves me, congratulations JackBenny1924 you have made me speachless (something that is very tricky to do). Keep doing what your doing because your really something worth watching!

  • Honestly I think this song would sound grate fore a Creighton Chaney Jr. Tribute I've bin dieing to do. Anybody have any of his old horror movies they can post for me to use?

  • Smashing tribute to the horror heroes of yesteryear. Love ALL classic horror stars but my all-time favourite has to be BELA. Your video inspired me to have a go at my own. If anyone's interested check out the 'manwithamillioneyes' tribute videos. I would love to hear from fellow horror fans!

  • These are three of the best horror movie actors ever! Great video!

  • totally agreed!!!

  • Great selection and editing... Sp-sp-spooky

  • hard to argue for they are classic villains to say the least......damn, just don't have these great types anymore.

  • Great Tribute. Thanks.

  • I still think this is one of the best videos on youtube!!! Three amazingly good actors!

  • great job ...really-- I'm impressed-- you must love cinema very much and you must know it very well to do something like that-- k o o l ! thanx

  • *Scrims with joy* You're so lucky. You got my top three people. Hey did you know that Lon really didn't name his son after himself. it's just a stage name. Also Creighton which is his real name happens to be another of my top 3 along with Peter and Vince but unlike Peter and and Vince He's relay hard to look for when it comes to videos. Just one movie and a few trailers is all I can find.

  • Do you have any movies from other old school horror actors? Oh and I've had my first tribute video up for a couple 3 days. Working on my second now.

  • Besides Bela, Peter and Boris, I have the movies of Lon Chaney Sr. & Jr., Vincent Price, Dwight Frye and a couple Basil Rathbone flicks.

  • Happy Halloween to all you Ghastly Ghouls!

Love this tribute. So well created and the music goes brill!

  • Were did you get the videos for this? See the one I'm working on now is really hard because there's vary few clips.

  • All these clips are from my own personal collection. I would love to be apart of a Peter Lorre fan club!

  • Thanks and maybe we could find a way to get all the other Peter Lorre fans and make a fan club? :)

  • Thanks. Oh and I just finished my first of 3 tribute videos. Hope Jack doesn't mind me using this song for one of them as well.

  • Jack does not mind, by the way, my real name is Mariah. Look forward to seeing your videos.

  • that one of the best videos ive ever seen great job

  • Hey what song is this?

  • 3 days grace - 'Animal I Have Become'

  • I love old school acters. The talint was much better then. Bela Lugosi was prity good and Devil bat was a cool movie but I don't realy think I'd rank him as one of my favorits. Love Peter though, He's asum. But they were all good at wat they did and good work though. I just hope my first tribut ters out good.

  • svr2007 music

  • Danke for this wonderful cutted tribute to these great legends !! All three were also real gentlemen in best mind of the word. And:

Peter Lorre is also a big legend here in Europe with the unforgotten German film "M - Eine Stadt sucht einen Moerder" ( M - A City searched a Murderer) which was a world famous movie at that time.

    Danke schoen. 5*****

  • LOL! I heard this song today and I just HAD to watch your video again.

  • Three of the greatest actors who ever lived!

  • one in a million, truly amazing:)

  • Brilliant!!

  • What movie did 1:26 come from?

  • YOU'LL FIND OUT

  • Love the video! What ever happened to the charm of the past???

  • the Charm of the past is just that long ago no more imagination left in the movie world with lame actors like Tom Cruise lol give me Boris Peter Bela Bogie now they were GREATS

  • This video is awesome! I have been watching this I don't know how many time! Lugosi and Karloff are the best from this time. I like Vincent Price too. I think I am going to see the Raven with Karloff and Lugosi right now!

  • Wow, great video. What's that at 1:57 ? Thanks

  • It's from a film titled CRACK UP.

  • Cool thanks. And what movie were all 3 in together ?

  • YOU'LL FIND OUT

  • Thanks a million. A superb video for 3 superb actors 8 )

  • Very cool man, three of my favorite actors! Cool song too. 5 stars.

  • Still watching, whooo!

  • Please, from what movie is it of Peter in frame 00:45?

75 years later and he still makes my heart stop *blush*

  • That's from a film called CRACK UP, awesome movie!

  • An awesonme compendium of great acting and errie cinematography

  • Very good!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The shots w/ Karloff, Lugosi and Lorre standing together are from BIG BANDLEADER Kay Kyser's 1940 film, YOU'LL FIND OUT

  • Correct you are, ShockDoc, correct you are

  • Thank you

  • So......addicting......

  • Haha, don't worry, I have the same problem.

  • Hehehe. I still love watching this! Peter, Bela and Boris hotness!

  • Whenever I hear this song from now on, I will be thinking of this video, lol! EXCELLENT work, I was raised on the classics and LOVE Lorre, Karloff and Lugosi! Thanks for the great work!

  • Haha, I can't listen to this song without thinking of Lorre, Lugosi and Karloff!

  • same here.. (in a Peter Lorre voice) "See what you started?" ;)

  • Peter, Bela, Boris......I BOW TO YOU!!

Now come and take me MWHAHA!! *Kidnaps Peter Lorre!*

  • Holy freakin' cow...I still get goosebumps watching this!! :)

  • SUPERB tribute - great choice of music to accompany it!

  • BELA LUGOSI!!! 4 EVER!

  • I LOVE this :) :) :)

    I can't stop looking it

  • Hehehe. Still watching ^^

  • Great video! I listen this every day.

I belong to the younger generation, but i love this old horror masters.

  • Me to....Im 18 and I love these guys to death. My grandparents raised me on these old movies and I have watched them whenever I could because I prefer them to todays losers.

I have almost all the Bogart movies, Karloff, Peter Lorre and Bela Lugosi movies. Im so close to have a full collection!

  • I´m so glad to hear this.

I like Bogart too, one of my favourite actors, and when it comes to horror genre - Karloff is the man! (and Bela too)

  • Whooo hoo!! So, you like Boggie to, eh? He's cool. I also LOVE Raymond Massey and.....man, when it comes to the orginal dudes, their hard to choose from.

    One things for sure.

Peter Lorre= Mega Chibi Cute, Bogart=Studly

    Boris= Handsome Gentlemen, Bela= Hotness,

Raymond Massey= Godly in so many ways....,

    Carey Grant= Cute Hunk Man.

  • yes very much.

You know in horror genre my list goes like this Boris, Bela, Vincent, Lorre, Cushing and Lee

as for other genres- Bogie and Bacall- they rock!

I also like very much James Cagney, Edward Robinson, James Stewart, John Wayne and others...and I love classic sf films too

You know it´s so sad that our generation thinks that these modern movies are cool, but they don´t realize that there were much better and much original movies made long time ago

  • LOL, I can't argue with your your list, it's a good one ^^.

I know what you mean about our generation. They think all the so called 'actors' today are the best thing that's ever happened. Well, their not, the Originals AKA 'Classics' come first, their the best. LOL, I don't know if it's just me or not, but back them when it came to horror movies-they didn't take them to sereiously, it was simply entertainment.

Meanwhile, today, they make them so damn rediculous and way to serious.

  • That´s right! Those slasher horror films today are so irritating to me. I mean it´s the same story every time- some guy goes around and kills some stupid kids, there are no difference .

Old horrors may not be scary today, but they had class, stories, and good actors.

Look at Bela and Boris- the face, the eyes, the voice - they are perfect!

  • To be honest....I don't think those movies were even supposed to be scarey. It was all about the story and the charicters, and that's what made it enjoyable. And the acting Bela, Boris and Lorre had was just perfecto! The eyes, voice, movements, personality, hair, face, perfect!!

My grandpa on my dad's side showed me all the Bela and Boris, also, Price, movies starting when I was....2? lol. And my grandpa on my moms side showed me Lorre, Borgart, Grant and Massey.

  • My first old movie that I saw was the one and only- King Kong.

I was 9 years old and, I fell in love whit that movie. As for classic horror, my first movie was The invisible man. Then I started to watch others

  • lol....at least you can remember....Instead of watching turns of kids shows, I was raised on so much old movies that it's all a giant orb of imagis!

But...from what my grandpa on my dad's side told me, my first was Dracula, second, The Mummy, then The Raven (first one with Boris and Bela) Then it just kept on going.

  • Wondering what you thought of the most recent remake of King Kong--did you even bother to see it?--and also the 80s version with Jessica Lange.

  • The recent remake sucked, I mean, It has the action, CGI, that´s all alrigh, but the original has more charm. To tell you the truth I more enjoy the old stop motion effects. They seem mo me in some point more realistic than CGI.

I also don´t like the fact that in the 2005 remake the Naomi Watts actualy accepts Kong. In the original she doesen´t , which makes it more sad, because there Kong dies alone.

I saw the 1976 remake too, a few years ago, but I wasn´t very much impressed.

  • Thanks for the comments. Like you and Zoisitetta, I belong to the younger generation...unfortunately. I am 20 years old and dislike nearly every movie being made these days. I'm happy to hear that there are more young people like myself who appreciate the classics.

  • You dislike nearly every movie of today as well?

*Dances in happyness* Im not alone! FINALLY!!

Movies of today suck soooo much....even the comedys, people today can't act! And the people that COULD act and were funny, like Drew Carey and Roseanne, aren't around to much. It sucks.

    Long live the Originals!

  • When I first got into classic entertainment, it was the comedians, Charles Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Laurel and Hardy, that attracted my attention. Since then I have gotten more into the drama and horror films. I like Roseanne but not Drew Carey so much. I do enjoy David Letterman and Conan O'brien though. I'm glad you're still watching.

  • Cool.

I never really had a choise to get into the classics because I was raised on them by my two grandpas. The one on my dad's always likes the horror, drama and fantisy stuff and my mom's dad liked Charles Chaplin, Buster Kreaon, Jackie Gleson, All In The Family, Roseanne and Drew Carey. Also Hogan's Heros, M*A*S*H and, well...lets just say all the older shows, which I've come to be addicted to.

You also like Lettermna and O'brian? Hehee sweet! They rule.

  • well done!!!!!!!! i love it!!!!!!! Can you please recommend some old horror movies for me to watch please???

  • You know, every time I watch this, that slow motion part with Peter and Boris always gets me!...the way they move, it's so.....must....watch....total...Gods.

  • That happens to be my favorite part of the montage.

  • I also like that part at 00: 47 were Peter has his little baby face and sad eyes.

  • Excellent choices, great pacing, super music.

    (Ted Newsom/Act3Prods.)

  • Excellent, simply excellent! Thank you for you amazing work! A magnificent tribute to my favorite three screen luminaries!

  • Dazzling! Splendid work! Mariah, your scholarship on these films and your sharp eye for selecting and utilizing cuts yields some breathtaking juxtapositions of these horror legends. The way you follow the music for a unifying rhythm and for an emotional current is stunning. I want to see all of your YouTube montages on broadcast television or -- better yet -- on a theater screen. Truly stirring and fascinating work!

  • Wow...your comment has left me speechless...

  • Los tres son unicos e irrepetibles. Estupendo trabajo, un tributo a estos 3 mitos del terror. Fuera de series.

  • Muchas gracias

  • great compilation but how you can combine it with that ....music is beyond me. Thanx anyway.

  • Great! The three of them were actually IN one movie together; an old Kay Kaiser film. Turner Classic Movies may even have a copy of it in their store.

  • "You'll Find Out" is the film, everyone should check it out. Kaiser and his band are terrible but the three villains are great. I use many clips from the film in this montage.

  • I saw this film about 20 years ago and yes! It's fab. Lorre, Lugosi and Karloff are villains par excellence! But I think a more subtle song might have worked better with your otherwise excellent video...it's sharply edited with great images. But I like the concept behind combing vintage villains with contemporary music.

  • I thought some people would have a problem with the music I chose but I think this song matches these three great villains. Just listen to the lyrics! I myself usually don't listen to this type of music but when I heard this song, which I like, I thought to myself, "I think I'm going to do a montage to that." Thanks for your comments.

  • I liked the song. It has merit. The compelling lyrics do fit these fine actors...but the repetition reminds me they were often typecast. Of course you're paying tribute to their villainy, not their range as actors so perhaps I'm overly analytical. And you must be true to your own vision.

  • neat! great composition of precious moments in film history.

  • superb editing and effects! now maybe a Karloff only tribute? :)

  • Sorry for calling you a dude ^^

  • What do you get when you make a music video of Boris, Bela and Peter?......TOTAL KICK ASS!

    Dude, you rule!

  • oh my god! i love this video! wow! it's genious!

  • Your video clip is great and I've rated it as awesome. I've done another clip on some old cigarette cards of 1930's actors and actresses: Boris Karloff from The Mummy,Gracie Fields, Florence Desmond, Charles Laughton, Laurence Olivier and many more.

  • this is amazing!!!!

can you please make more tributes like this!

    it's wonderful!!

    very very good :)

  • Very nice work JB!

  • This is absolutely FANTASTIC! I got goosebumps! Honestly! :D You're so talented. (Man, I gotta learn how to do this!)
