Can't hear a fucking thing.... next time try to connect those machine to an audio interface instead of using that noisy external mic..... it's all hims and hiss.... too bad
buy the one on the left its better! i bought the red one and its just effects, the yellow one a sampler and a wicked tool!!! just got to get the money to buy it!!!
@mjwaagner no loops just sfx and some noises!!! the yellow pads better for samplin and makin beats the red is for transforming the sound!!! i have the red korg mini, 5/5 the yellow ones better!!!
@cholo11 The Kaossilator is a device that creates and loops sound. The Mini KP has a bunch of tools to modify the sound that it receives into its (RCA) input.
@bigbadron Yes, the urban dictionary you copy and pasted from does indeed concur with you, however, does his sentence sound like he's disrespecting you? Why would he be interested in the price of the gear, unless he himself wanted to buy it due to the inspiration you infused into him? Hmm?
these two gadgets are incredibly packed with features for the price, especially the kaossilator using 16 bar looping. but then again if you don't know what the fuck you're doing, it will sound like the above.
see ive wondered that too, but as far as i know the guitar works on analogue signals and i presume that these work on MIDI??? not too sure, but a great effects unit that Korg have, Because I own one, is the AX3000G. Brilliant piece of kit, check it out. You get these tpes of effects and more
If you have a large TRS to RCA (phono) converter and a line out from your amp, yes. then you'll need the output to go back into something i guess. gd luck; the ufo.
@wue2117 In has a "in" point and an "out" point, you simply take the sound from whatever is creating it and pass it through the mini kp and then on to your speakers.
@TravisBoatrig i guess its connected like, from the left yellow pad, output to input of the right red pad. and than the output of the red pad, goes anywhere you like. The yellow one has already loops and samples.
I want one of these for christmas but to lasy to find out which ones the better one to ask for or if theres even a difference between the two. can someone let me know so i can write some kick ass tunes Like MGMT :)
The Mini KP is a sound processor and the Kaossilator is a synth. Depends on your needs. Kaosillator only sends sounds out, the mini KP receives audio and shits out even more stuff.
Nice done man! Do you know if it is able to plug in the kaossikator in a guitar? it doesnt have input like the mini-kp does, but ive seen some videos of ppl havin a kaossilator on a guitar
Hey just wondering if i wanted to add effects using the kaoss pad to my ipod how would i use the kaossilator aswell or is that plugged into something separate?
can you use them both on the same thing such as an ipod?
I know everyone tries to explain the difference to everyone, but ill give it a shot as well. If you want to make sounds just with the Kaoss unit into a home stereo amp or something, then you would get the YELLOW KAOSSILATOR.
If you know what your doing, and want to process and add effects to music/samples, then get the RED KAOSS PAD
Woah there don't knock house music or techno. If you want to listen to shitty music than go listen to Soulja Boy or 3 6 Mafia or anything like that. I can agree this track isn't very good but house music as a whole can be awesome.
@YOUsnozeYOULOZE its about having fun you dumb fuck, music is whatever you make of it, be it electronic, acoustic....whatever. I happen to own one of these and I have fun making music on it, bigbadron never posted in the description for the video that he has created a masterpiece, by the looks of it he had just bought it. You can't use these straight into an amp (unless it has an RCA in)
You can run the Kp3 through an amp though.
Look it up, it's full name is the Kaoss Pad 3.
Of course, though, the Kp3 is a dynamic effects/sampler so if you are looking to make the noise get the kaossilator (yellow) but if you want to sample and effect noise get the mini-kp or the Kp3
Hi i don' want to sound stupid or anything but I'm pretty new to all of this. Can i use either of these straight into an amp to play the preset effects on there? If so which one do you recommend?
how do you properly connect it if you have a stereo and a dj mixer. i mean i know that the "In" pair of wires from korg goes to the dj mixer, but what about the "Out" pair, do they also get connected to the mixer??
im not quite sure i understood, but the phonos labeled in, souldent be "going" to anything, they are the imput into the sampeler, so should be comeing from whatever your source is.
the out phonos are the output from the sampler, if those arent conected, then its not dooing anything is it? xD
-sorry if i have got the wrong end of the stick here
is there a difference with them? or are they the same? cuz i want to but one but im not sure which one to get. what one is better in ur opinion? :) thanks
The mini-KP is an effects pad Kaossilator is a synth.
Kaossilator makes music Mini-KP line in and out
if you wann make music the get the Kaossilator then get the other later - or save up and get the KP3 instead less portable but better facilities ;)))x :)PXx
if you play guitar for real, and your not really into electronic music.. Ide buy a Micro BR.. they are totally designed for guitar players.. and im very certain you would use it more and enjoy it more.. just look it up.. MicroBR.. the thing has a dedicated guitar jack, check it out bro, i own one and i use it a lot with my guitar.
the mini-kp is an effects pad. it adds filter, delays, distortion, etc, to whatever is plugged into it. if that's what you're looking to go, go for it. but i would suggest saving up the money and buying the kp3. i put one up a few months ago, and i love it. i'll have to put up a demo video of it soon.
yeah i see what you mean about the kp3, but im actually a guitarist and bassist and 300 quid is a lot and that kinda money could be put towards a guitar, but i think im gonna stick with my kaosilliator
I'm new and starting out, picking up a Kaossilator on Saturday, and eventually pick up the mini KP. I'm going to see if I get good with this, I'll move up to the big leagues like the KP3...well ATM its big leagues, but it can get much bigger than that
yes. both of them are completely different from one another. the yellow one is the Kaossilator and it's a synth and looper and the black and red one is the mini-kp (kaoss pad) and that's an FX processor.
so awesome bro! i'm new to all this stuff too, but i am asking for the Korg Mini-KP for Christmas. if i have money, i'll get the Kaossilator too. i eventually want to save up $500 and get the Korg Electribe MX. those things are boss!!!! :D
Ya with both you can be a single man daft punk basicly! Right now I am just ordering the black one for now then once I get more cash I am gonna get the other.
I'm knew to all this AND I just found out about this Kaossilator tonight. How does that Korg Kaoss Pad mini stack up to the Korg Kaoss Pad 2. I would think the Kaoss Pad 2 would be better but the mini I beleive is a newer product. You kick me any knowledge on that thanx for the video...Oh and do both those products run on batteries only?? or do they have power supplies as well?
well, i just picked up a kp3 kaoss pad and that blows the mini-kp away. but the mini-kp is nice though for on-the-go, as well as it's lower price point. once i get the proper set up, the mini-kp will be used for vocals only, and the kp3 will be my main effects pad.
and they run on batteries and well as power supplies too. you could even get car adapters and make music on the road.
I think they are both the same, except for the color. so he's using one to play sample and loops thru another kaoss pad for the fx(filter, delay, bit crushing etc)
Well from what I been hearing the yellow one would go well with a drum machine. Especially an OLD drum machine because they don't have many synths and sounds..so I reason the yellow one goes with the drum machine then the Kaoss mini (black one) would be used to distort any synths or effects made on the yellow one (Kaossliator). I'm a nOOb
no, they are both completely different. the red and black one (the mini-kp) is for effects and noise samples and the yellow one (the kaossilator) is a synth and looping machine :D
i've been dicking around with electronic music on the pc for a few years now. this is the first set of equipment. i'd say it's great for a starter kit.
interesting tune, but the sound quality might be better. still - a good song

I'm new and starting out, picking up a Kaossilator on Saturday, and eventually pick up the mini KP. I'm going to see if I get good with this, I'll move up to the big leagues like the KP3...well ATM its big leagues, but it can get much bigger than that

Say, i have my ipod plug into the red one, can i loop the music?
mena123456789 3 years ago
only on the loop settings. like, 75-85 i think. and it'll only loop the last 1-2 seconds.

What should I buy first?
What's better for like a complete beginner

get the yellow one. The Korg K01 Kaossilator. Its brilliant.

Awesome thanks :)
Chris182Owns 3 years ago
depends on what you want to do. if you want to make pieces, go with the kaossilator. if you want to just mess with premade music, get the mini-kp.
bigbadron 3 years ago
im looking to buy one or the other. is there a deff. between these too?
DJbacktrack 3 years ago
The red one is an effects processor and the yellow one is synths and beats loop etc
benjive 3 years ago
yes. both of them are completely different from one another. the yellow one is the Kaossilator and it's a synth and looper and the black and red one is the mini-kp (kaoss pad) and that's an FX processor.

so awesome bro! i'm new to all this stuff too, but i am asking for the Korg Mini-KP for Christmas. if i have money, i'll get the Kaossilator too. i eventually want to save up $500 and get the Korg Electribe MX. those things are boss!!!! :D

is there a difference between the two? like which one is the better one
00nothing91 3 years ago 3
the yellow one is an oscillator, producing frequencies as well as drum loops. the red one is pretty much an effect pad.
they're both great on their own, but amazing as a pair. if you onlt want one, you need to figure out if you want to create sounds, or distort them.
bigbadron 3 years ago
Ya with both you can be a single man daft punk basicly! Right now I am just ordering the black one for now then once I get more cash I am gonna get the other.

I'm knew to all this AND I just found out about this Kaossilator tonight. How does that Korg Kaoss Pad mini stack up to the Korg Kaoss Pad 2. I would think the Kaoss Pad 2 would be better but the mini I beleive is a newer product. You kick me any knowledge on that thanx for the video...Oh and do both those products run on batteries only?? or do they have power supplies as well?
ModernNosferatu 3 years ago
well, i just picked up a kp3 kaoss pad and that blows the mini-kp away. but the mini-kp is nice though for on-the-go, as well as it's lower price point. once i get the proper set up, the mini-kp will be used for vocals only, and the kp3 will be my main effects pad.
and they run on batteries and well as power supplies too. you could even get car adapters and make music on the road.

I would want to distort, I guess its the red one?
SandGoose0 3 years ago
I think they are both the same, except for the color. so he's using one to play sample and loops thru another kaoss pad for the fx(filter, delay, bit crushing etc)
yetonGhul 3 years ago
Well from what I been hearing the yellow one would go well with a drum machine. Especially an OLD drum machine because they don't have many synths and sounds..so I reason the yellow one goes with the drum machine then the Kaoss mini (black one) would be used to distort any synths or effects made on the yellow one (Kaossliator). I'm a nOOb
ModernNosferatu 3 years ago
no, they are both completely different. the red and black one (the mini-kp) is for effects and noise samples and the yellow one (the kaossilator) is a synth and looping machine :D

Kaossilator + mini-KP = #1!

Nice equipment!! I'm just starting out so that's a bit unnecessary for me...you seem good at it.

i've been dicking around with electronic music on the pc for a few years now. this is the first set of equipment. i'd say it's great for a starter kit.
