I tried this test late one evening on the m6 motorway when it was empty. My disco series 2 stopped that quick from 60mph I though the car I had on the trailer was going to end up in the boot !!! :@) Discovery Series 2 is the last propper Discovery. Disco 3 is far to electronic for its own good, it will go wrong. I have a m8t who has one on a '07' reg and its had fault after fault, clutch, gearbox, engine management and now this week an injector has gone.
all that ABS does is massarge the brakes to try and stop them skiding, this does not always work. However with EBD the computer calculates which wheel requires what brakes and can adjust them to suit to bring the vehicale to a nice smooth quick stop
I haven't seen an EBD test before, and this one really shows off how well it works particularly on the old Disco. and I loved watching the Defender roll through that turn :D
no the disco brakes did not lock however the trailers did because the trailer doesn't weigh over 3500kg so it doesnt break when the car breaks slowly, however in a emergncy stop they lock automaticly N00B
if you knew anything about physics and engineering you would see that this test proves the Disco is superb! The newer versions built upon this success. the car in front is not a Toyota because the LR arrived their hours ago!
Land rover were proving that you can stop a really heavy weight (i.e A defender 90) and still the disco's brakes will not lock up with the EBD system. It didn't break down. So stop having a little sly dig at LR. Land rovers were building 4x4's way before Toyota started!

I know what they were doing....it was a joke.
Rovers are complete garbage mate and your a damn fool if you say otherwise.
p.s. Toyota had a 4x4 on the road in 1942, it became the Land Cruiser over the years, it was not mass produced and was only built for the Japan army. correct me if im wrong (which im not) but Land rover was begun in 1948. So who came first?
That's fitted with ACE (Active Cornering Enhancement) the same as mine. Cornering is unbelievable for such a big high car. You can see the body roll on the Defender. Good test to compare the difference it makes.
if u look closely u can see the wheels on the trailer locking up. so the trailer had breaks to witch wakes a huge diferince especially when their is that much whate on it
I should think there is a significant weight transfer moment about the front axle of the trailer as a result of the 2 tons odd of defender wants to keep going. I reckon the defender must have been strapped down pretty well.
@sgbnews my discovery exhibits this same behavior, i tow loads heavier than this daily. It is weight transfer from the trailer to the tongue, since the vehicle is slowing down, trailer desires to keep moving, leverage pushes the rear end of the vehicle down, and the front of the vehicle up.
Wonder if it has the ACE system or not?

well, that is just a kind of stability program of the Land Rover Discovery.
when the car is going to bank to the left, the suspension is trying to keep the car in control.
So, he doesnt bank to any side,, my uncle got one:D Great car..

That is some control on that bend. Most people would have turned it over
