@nyran125 No, its actually nothing like the focus system, you must press forward to parry mid/high (on EXACT impact) and must press down on low atks. but in the sense that it does take an attack (no chip or health is lost though) it allows you to follow up after it (the attack isnt automatic like a focus). Its very hard to master in the instance that you cannot simply spam forward or down because youll just end up walking forward into your opps combos, it can turn a fight around but its a gamble

3rd Strike isn't that hard. Parry. Wow so hard to expect and attack and then tap toward them..lol The issue is that the "masses" think of street fighter as HADOKEN.. repeat.. jump away.. jump away.. OMG they moved SHORYUKEN!! OH SHIT I got knocked down and they are near me *mashes ultra wildly*... 3rd Strike has very good counters for any of that scrub stuff.

I love the parry system. It's great for people who like to spam the bread and butter combos. That dudely got raped everytime he tried to lay the c. lp + c. lp + HP combo. This system is exactly what is needed for people who learn how to play fighting games off of youtube videos purely by simple combo imitation.

I can't think of a proper way to respond; I'm just saying, that people focus on combos too much, while foregoing the basics, such as ranges, movement, approaches, throwing headgames, etc. Combos in 3rd Strike are there to give maximum punishment to your opponent when he whiffs something or messes up, because more often than not, if it misses or gets blocked, it leaves you open for punishment. It's more than just laying down a sweet 10 hitter

I suspect some of my difficulty with it has come from trying to learn it in an environment where your execution timing is governed by latency. Online + HDMI is a really terrible environment for learning street fighter, compared to my experience with SF3 playing next to someone at an arcade with no latency and a giant CRT. That felt less intimidating, for sure.
