  • What do you suppose they usually say to each other as they hand off the microphone? "Looks like a rowdy bunch" or "good luck on the show" or .. ?

  • wow i remember watching this when i was really little i must have been 4 in 87

  • @crackernumber2 i WUZ 8 N 87 WHEN DIS AIRED!!

  • RIP Rod Roddy.

  • WOW now what I pictured for a models bf!

  • :07 -- Steve Guttenberg??

  • @GP1138 Same guy at 3:07. And how ironic...

  • I remember back in the 90s when it was cool to have one of those newer model TVs with no buttons or displays really visible. Those now look like dinosaurs compared to the HD sets we have these days.

  • Man when I look at this time sure does fly. The 80's were the shit in every category!!

  • "A neewwww color TV!"

"OH GOD, DID YOU SAY COLOR!?"

  • that is one ugly tv and one ugly cabnet

  • @vivitar45 This was 1987, so you have to remember that things were ugly back then. LOL.

  • I was in Kindergarten when this was taped!! Rod seems louder!!

  • Johnny Olsen is king.

  • I think Rod Roddy did the intro on this, but yes Johhny Olsen was the man.

  • This is the TPIR that I remember. Going to kindergarten in '92; seeing this before going.

I'm sad that Barker can't do this anymore, but it was bound to happen. :(

Let's just hope Carey hits his stride like Barker did.

  • Did Mark Goodson/Bill Todman Productions had the rights to play "The Pink Panther" theme since its debut?

  • Well, obviously. Otherwise, they couldn't have used it all those years. (think!!)

  • yea right they just dont take stuff without permission

  • NOBODY can beat the hottness of the LOVELY HOLLY HOLSTROM!!!!

  • i remember that voice at first it was wierd to hear another voice in about 2000 i got a little used to it but as far as bob leaving it's not the same

    r.i.p rod

    happy retirement bob

  • Great cheesy guy at :07 with 80's hair

  • how young

  • Yeah, I too miss Rod Roddy, he WAS a great announcer for The Price is Right.

  • Wow, this show aired 8 days before I was born.

  • that 19 inch tv, lol, wow how times have changed in tv sets

  • @KidAJonni No kidding! I remember when a 19 inch color TV was perfect for the master bedroom, a 27 inch color TV was for the family room, and if you were an older child or teen you were fortunate if you had a 13 inch color TV in your bedroom. Now they have these huge TVs that look like they want to be movie theater screens and we don't have those pretty 27 inch TV/cabinet sets anymore. Sometimes progress isn't that appealing.

  • What are you talking about? Dian was always hot no matter what she had on.

  • @invadr1 SIR or m'am I agree with you! he must have $ or a you know what or he is just an honest good guy!

  • Bob Barker's hair looks red in this episode. This was right before he just let his hair go white.

  • Well, if you've seen his first show with gray hair, Bob does mention that a certain dye he was using did cause his hair to look red.

  • I remember that. And right he was.

  • It turned red, then blue, and then he decided to do the patriotic thing and dye it white.

  • RIP Johnny and Rod

  • Yes indeed. Rod sure had a great set of pipes and was a great announcer as was his predecessor Johnny Olsen. I sure miss the good old days when Game Shows were on 3 networks all morning. Bob was the best and can never be replaced.

  • Rich Fields is a great Announcer too however I'd Love to have seen Drew Carey with Rod Announcing!

  • Now that'd been awsome!

  • There could not have been a more worthy successor to Johnny O than Rod Roddy.

  • The contestant Cynthia looks like Laura Palmer of Twin Peaks , interesting

  • Wow, excellent quality and sound. If I don't have this one, I'd trade for it. Also, this is probably just a few days before Bob's hair went gray, because I think it was March of 1987.

  • Nice glasses!!!

  • Do you know the other pricing games played on this particular episode?

  • the college audience wasnt as big then as it is now too.

  • Barker looked younger in his 60s back then.

  • They used the Pink Panther theme for the Safe Crackers game. Interesting.
